Review/Interview/Giveaway ~ Blood Games by Chloe Neill

Blood Games (Chicagoland Vampires, #10)Title: Blood Games
Author: Chloe Neill
Series: Chicagoland Vampires #10
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Published: August 5th 2014

While Merit didn’t choose to become a vampire or Sentinel of Cadogan House, she vowed to fight for her House and its Master, and she’s managed to forge strong alliances with powerful supernaturals across Chicago. But even though Merit has had wild adventures, this may be her deadliest yet...

A killer is stalking Chicago, preying on humans and leaving his victims with magical souvenirs. The CPD hasn’t been able to track the assailant, and as the body count rises, the city is running out of options. Vampires and humans aren’t on great terms, but murder makes for strange bedfellows. Can Merit find the killer before she becomes a target?
I just love immersing myself into the Chicagoland Vampire world, and after 10 books, Blood Games was another action packed instalment in the series. I was off with Merit once again and watching as she unravelled yet another mystery.

In Blood Games, Merit was a little emotional when it came to Ethan. She was struggling to try to help him and had difficulty getting him to open up. When it came to her job though, she was very focused… she worked with the Ombuddies with ease, trying to uncover the culprit for the murders. Ethan was a bit withdrawn; always trying to fix things himself. I just wanted to shake him and say Merit’s a big girl, she can handle your demons and herself… but he is a stubborn, old vampire who has found his Love, and wants to protect her. He had a few challenges to face in this one and I was surprised as to the direction of it in the end, so I am keen to see what happens next.

Merit and Ethan are one of my all time favourite paranormal couples. They are very compatible, and have great chemistry and I love the banter they always share. So even though they had some difficult times in this one, I knew they would be strong enough to overcome it.

I met another character from Ethan’s past and she is a piece of work. Like all evil vampires she has a nice front, but there is something sneaky about her, so I didn’t like her from the start, but neither did Merit. She has a hidden agenda and I am excited to see where things will go with her.

Chloe has delivered another exciting book in the Chicagoland series. When I finished the book I was left with wondering thoughts. There is big change in the Vampire world and I’m looking forward to these new twists. One of Merit’s friends knows of her prediction, so I’m excited to see if that is coming up soon too. There is so much I want to see and I know that March is going to take forever to roll around!!

Hi Chloe! Welcome back to the Palace!

Thanks for having me!

Today I am going to start with some series talk, so can you tell readers about the Chicagoland Vampires series in 3
sentences.

Sure! Merit, a graduate student, becomes a warrior among very glamorous and political vampires in Chicago.  As
Sentinel of Cadogan House, she protects its vampires and falls for its Master, Ethan Sullivan. Hopefully, they'll live happily
ever after. ;)

Merit and Ethan are one of my favourite couples, can you tell us your favourite moment that you have written about
them?

Thanks so much! I really like their sillier moments, when they have time to relax and joke and be themselves. Food
usually figures into that.

Can you reveal any inside info about what is going to happen with Merit and Ethan next?

I can't give away any spoilers, but suffice it to say Ethan's past surfaces in a pretty dramatic way.

And here is a round of Five Favourites

Favourite drink - Diet Coke
Favourite book - OUTLANDER
Favourite holiday destination - Florida gulf coast, or Chicago
Favourite paranormal character - Does Claire Frasier count? :D
Favourite guilty pleasure - Eating Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter World while watching episodes of Mindy Project or Bob's Burger.

Thanks for being with me today Chloe! Congrats on the release of Blood Games and bring on Dark Debt!!
