Review ~ I Pucking Love You by Pippa Grant

I Pucking Love You (The Copper Valley Thrusters #5)I Pucking Love You by Pippa Grant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I Pucking Love You was a fun and quirky read. Muffy was such an interesting character and her antics made me laugh. I really liked Tyler, he was just the guy that Muffy needed as her fake date. He wanted to be there for Muffy and wanted to rekindle the moment that they had before.

This was the 5th book in The Copper Valley Thrusters series, and although it was a good read I would've enjoyed it more if I had read the other books. The other stories would've fleshed this read out better for me. It was still a good read and only made me want more!

A hockey/fake date/not-quite-a-virgin very wrong romantic comedy

You know those stories where an adorably misunderstood clumsy girl needs a fake date to a wedding so she asks her brother’s best friend and they accidentally fall in love?

I wish that was the kind of life I lead, but it’s not.

I don’t need a date to a wedding. I need a date to a funeral.
Clumsy sometimes fits, but then, that’s true for all of us, right? But adorable? No. Misunderstood? Nope again. I’m just your average girl, standing in front of a funeral invitation, asking it to be a winning lottery ticket instead.

And I don’t have a brother, or a best friend with a brother available, which means I’m stuck with Tyler Jaeger.

Sure, he’s a professional hockey player who also knows advanced calculus, but let’s say we’re not compatible and leave it at that. I should know. I am a matchmaker.

Not a very good one, but that’s beside the point.

I know a mismatch when I see one.

Still, Tyler’s what I’ve got, and I am not going to this funeral solo, so he’s what I’ll take.

After all—what could go wrong at a funeral?

I Pucking Love You is a hilariously wrong romantic comedy about the world’s worst matchmaker, a hockey player with a problem he doesn’t want to talk about, and an awkward date-of-convenience that everyone would prefer to forget. It comes complete with a cat working his way through his nine lives, all the sexy times, fish and chips, and a swoony happily-ever-after.

Out of LoveOut of Love by Jewel E. Ann
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This read was certainly different from what I thought it would be, and I couldn't help but to devour it! Both Livy and Slade were strong characters that I enjoyed getting to know. I liked the way that Livy pushed Slade, and was able to get under his skin with her curious nature. I liked the connection and passion that Slade and Livy had, and the relationship with Jericho.

There were several twists and suspense filled moments that had me on edge, that I didn’t see coming. Out of Love was a captivating read that I didn’t want it to end. I know I need to read more in the series.

Conspiracies. Corruption. Serial killers.

You name it—I'm fascinated by it. My mom always blamed my overly curious and highly suspicious mind on my dad.

My incredibly overbearing dad.

Mr. No One Is Good Enough For My Daughter has been terrifying my dates since I turned fifteen.

College is my chance to be free from his control and date any guy I want.

I'm absolutely certain he would hate Slade Wylder—almost as certain as I am that I do too.

Since when have I shied away from trouble?

Slade fascinates me. He lives in a house I'm certain is haunted. His dog is trained as well as any guard I've ever seen. Rumor on campus is that he deals drugs. It would explain a lot.

But it doesn't explain why he saves me from my darkest moment.

It doesn't explain why I can't stop thinking about him.

And the explanation I finally discover is far more dangerous than any rumor.

Review ~ Suddenly Forbidden Ella Fields

Suddenly Forbidden (Gray Springs University, #1)Suddenly Forbidden by Ella Fields
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Suddenly Forbidden was a good introduction to the world, the characters and the series. The beginning was insightful and it was interesting to see both Daisy and Quinn’s past and to see the connection they both shared. It was sad to see them part ways and to see how they struggled to find their way.

In the present it was hard, both Daisy and Quinn had some complications to overcome and some difficult choices to be made. There was a moment that I was unhappy with, but it was part of their story. I enjoyed meeting the secondary characters and the impact they had on Daisy and Quinn. I look forward to their stories in this series.

I thought he'd always be mine,
even when I was forced to say goodbye.

We were never meant to let go,
but it happened anyway.
Too bad I didn’t know someone was waiting to take my place, or I would've held on a lot tighter.

Two years later, we were exactly where we'd always planned to be.
I'd kept my promise.
He'd forgotten all about his.
Not only had he moved on, but the person he'd moved on with was my best friend, leaving me to begin college with a broken heart.

I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to tell you some other guy stepped in, repaired my shattered pieces, and made me smile again.

This isn't that kind of story.

My heart might have been broken,
but it refused to fall out of love.

WARNING: this book contains cheating.

Each book in the Gray Springs world can be read as a standalone.

Review ~ Lie to Me by Molly McAdams

Lie to MeLie to Me by Molly McAdams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Life wasn’t easy for Emma and she was so closed off due to her upbringing and the recent incident that led her back to Grandmother. I liked the way Reed pushed her bit by bit, getting under her skin and getting her to open up. I liked the small community and Reeds closest friends, how they were like family. I felt some parts were rushed, and I was confused by one moment in particular. But overall it was quite the enjoyable read.

Not What I ExpectedNot What I Expected by Jewel E. Ann
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Not What I Expected. It was such a good read, and anyone who has ended a long term relationship can relate to it. Not knowing who you are after being with the one person for so long and having to find your own feet again can be quite challenging

I liked Elsie's honesty and finally having the confidence to make change. The chemistry between Elsie and Kael was off the charts and it was amusing to see her take a chance with him. I liked the way he pushed her to face her insecurities, to find herself and - hopefully - the happiness that she needed, despite her family’s thoughts.

Gleam (The Plated Prisoner, #3)Gleam by Raven Kennedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG!! There is going to be another book! I was not prepared for this series to continue, and it is going to be a long time before I get the fourth book :(

Gleam was such an exciting read and I loved watching Auren become a better woman. She learnt so much more about herself and the people around her. Some twists were revealed and I liked the change in some relationships.

King Midas is such an evil person and I hoped that he would meet his maker. I still love the characters from the fourth army and how they have helped Auren become a better person. The ending was exciting and I am on edge waiting for more!

Glint (The Plated Prisoner, #2)Glint by Raven Kennedy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked watching Auren grow throughout this read. She spent a lot of time travelling and being herself outside of a cage. After seeing some instances where she was mistreated, it was good to see her develop some different relationships.

I was intrigued by the characters in Fourths army - Judd, Lu, Osrik, Keg and Rip - and how loyal they were to King Ravinger. I liked the way they all challenged Auren and the connection that was developing between her and Rip. There were a few twists, and I had some suspicions, but I was kept on my toes till the end. There wasn't as much action as the first book, but there was plenty of story building which kept me hooked until the end! You know I jumped into the third book immediately!

Review ~ Gild by Raven Kennedy

Gild (The Plated Prisoner, #1)Gild by Raven Kennedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series; I was constantly on edge wondering what would happen next. My heart ached for Auren, as she was kept alone and didn’t get to interact with anyone. She was a trophy, not able to roam free. She appreciated the small things, like fresh air and she was also kind. I liked that she made some friendships, but it wasn’t going to be easy.

I really did not like King Midas, he was cold and cunning and was using Auren for his own purpose. He was possessive of her and didn't allow her any freedoms.

There were plenty of twists and turns and each one kept me hooked. I devoured this read and jumped into the second book immediately!

Review ~ Replay by Amy Daws

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Although this book is suggested that it can be read as a standalone, I felt a little lost while reading it. There are other characters in this read who have obviously already have their own books and I was a little overwhelmed by them and how their stories impacted this read. I believe that if you read those books first it would make this stroy easier to follow. The end of the book leaves it open for the next book in the series too, hinting on another relationship that is developing.

With that said, this was still a good read. We jump right into seeing Santonio and Tilly, five years since they last met. They didn't part on great terms, and it was shown with the bitterness and banter between them. It was obvious that they still had chemistry and it wasn't long before they crossed those lines again.

OMG! This book was fantastic! It really took my emotions on a ride as I got to know Emmett, and what happened between him and Tatum - both in the past and in the present. I loved seeing them fall for one another as I slowly got to find out how they were torn apart. Their daughter Lucy was a beautiful soul and I loved how influential she was in their lives. It was heartbreaking, but beautiful as they faced their past. I LOVED this book, and I know I will read it again!

I was swept away with this read! I was on edge the whole time, knowing there was going to be a twist, and wondering how it would all unfold. And boy... were there twists! I liked getting to know Jemima and seeing her be a strong and confident woman when betrayed. I was curious about both men in her life and how they would win her heart. It was interesting to see how open minded she was and how she reacted when she got to know the truth.

This read was quite the page turner and I enjoyed all aspects of it. It had twists and turns, suspense and intensity and sweet moments that I love! It was a fantastic read that I enjoyed until that final page!!
