If someone had told me a year ago that I was about to fall in love, go on an epic road trip, ride a Triceratops, sing on a bar, and lose my virginity, I would have assumed they were on drugs.

Well, that is, until I met Beckham.

Beck was mostly to blame for my recklessness. Gorgeous, clever, undeniably charming Beck barreled into my life as if it were his mission to make sure I never took living for granted. He showed me that there were no boundaries, rules were for the spineless, and a kiss was supposed to happen when I least expected.

Beck was the plot twist that took me by surprise. Two months before I met him, death was knocking at my door. I’d all but given up my last scrap of hope when suddenly, I was given a second chance at life. This time around, I wasn’t going to let it slip through my fingers.

We set out on a road trip with nothing to lose and no guarantees of tomorrow.

Our road trip was about young, reckless love. The kind of love that burns bright.

The kind of love that no road-map could bring me back from.

I've read a few of R.S. Grey's books now, and each one touches me on a deep level. Who could believe that I could be even more touched by this read, but I was! It was a beautiful read of second chances, friendship and first loves.

I was actually hooked by this read from the first chapter. I read it on Amazon first before purchasing it, knowing I had to read it immediately. Abby was such a sweet girl, and due to the hassles of her health, had lived a very sheltered upbringing. It was sweet to see her take on her road trip, with a stranger that she got to know briefly.

Beck was such a genuinely nice guy, and I loved how persistent he was with Abby. He fell for her from the first time he met Abby, and was willing to bring her out of her comfort zone so she could experience so many firsts with him. They formed such a good bond on their trip, and even after they returned home Beck wanted to be there for Abby.

It wasn't always smooth sailing for them as they faced loss and dealt with health issues. Their connection was so strong and it was always going to be hard for them. Even though the author broke my heart, I loved the turn this story took and showed me how deep Abby and Becks love was. Each book I pick up by R.S. Grey is better than the last, and I can't wait to jump into another of her reads soon.
I just couldn't help it, there were so many good moments in this read... so here are three!!

“Did you just attempt to use tongue on your first kiss?” he asked, sporting his dimpled grin. I hated that he was laughing at me. Had that kiss not affected him at all? I leaned forward and covered his smile with my hand, but it only made him smile wider. I could feel his warm breath on my palm.
“I thought that’s where it was heading.” I groaned, wishing a bear would maul our tent in that exact moment. “You can’t make fun of me!”
His features suddenly turned serious and he reached up to peel my hand away from his face.
When his lips were finally free, he replied, “Abby, I don’t see how I could possibly make fun of you for practically sucking my face off.”

“Ah, so no attempts at second kisses should take place this morning.”
My head snapped up to meet his gaze. “Oh, so you think there will be more attempts?”
He smirked. “There will definitely be a second kiss in your life. It could even be with me if you play your cards right.”
Confident, goofy, sonofa jerk.
“Nah, I tried it that one time and it wasn’t that great. I think I’ll abstain for the rest of my life.”

I’d watched enough movies to realize that a guy offering to put sunscreen on you meant that in about ten seconds he would accidentally untie your bikini top and then you’d have raunchy beach sex. Was I prepared for public sex? I hadn’t yet mastered private sex—or, you know, anything past making out.

A stunning, heartfelt new stand-alone by New York Times best-selling author Mia Sheridan.

Brant Talbot runs a glitzy network of high-end bars in New York City, enjoying all the benefits of the lavish lifestyle he's worked so hard to achieve. When he learns that his estranged father is dying, he must return to his family's Kentucky horse farm - and to a past he thought he left behind.

While facing long-buried truths, he collides with his father's secretary, Isabelle Farris. Despite his undeniable attraction to the beautiful, independent young woman, he sees secrets in her eyes and believes she has designs on Graystone Hill.

Now the one woman he can't afford to trust is about to become the one he can't let go.

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY CAPRICORN. Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

It’s been a long time since I have read anything by Mia Sheridan, but I do remember that her work really hit home each and every time that I picked up one of her reads. Brandt’s Return was everything that I expected from Sheridan: emotional and gripping, but it also showed me the cost of love and loss.

Honestly, my heart broke in the epilogue, getting the details of a situation through a third party was horrific, but I was so glad to get that insight so I could understand what was to come. I could see why Isabelle was such a strong person in the present and that she would be able to hold her own. When she first spoke to Brandt, she was authoritative, even though he was rude, and their first introductions he did not let him walk all over her.

Brandt grew throughout the read, letting go of the anger that he had bottled up over the years. It was sweet seeing them together and the glimpses of happiness that they would have together. He helped Isabelle through a few intense moments, but struggled with his own feelings.

Sheridan has once again delivered a read that will stay with me for a while to come. It was heartbreaking and intense, but also beautiful as they both found the love they never thought they could have. The secondary storyline was nerve-racking, as secrets from Isabelle’s past began to surface and left her with many questions about what happened three years earlier. I was able to finish this book with a deep sigh, knowing how it all wrapped up was just as I hoped!

Oh Brandt... how I loved that guy!!

I was captivated, completely mesmerized by her. I felt like the schoolboy I’d been the last time I was here—enamored by a girl far beyond my league. But I wasn’t. I was a man and she was a woman and the electricity that sparked between us compelled me to take the few steps to where she stood, clasping her hands in mine and lacing our fingers together.
Her gaze fluttered down to our joined hands, and then she slowly lifted her eyes, meeting mine. The moment felt...holy...as if the trees around us—those mighty sentinels—were holding their breath for just a moment, waiting. Kiss her. Isabelle’s lips parted and I leaned in, bringing my mouth to hers softly, gently, a mere brushing of lips before I pressed forward, needing more, needing to taste, to explore.

“You . . . you looked for me?” I asked, confused.
“Yes. In every room I entered.” His voice was low, deep, his breath whispering over the skin of my throat as he spoke. “I knew you wouldn’t be there. I knew you were here, far away, and yet...it was the first thing I did. I found myself looking for you in every room I walked into. I wanted so much for you to be there.”

From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new romance about trading secrets, breaking the rules, and playing for keeps.

My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.

Except the night I found out that my whole existence has been a lie.

I got drunk. And picked up a stranger.

Her name was Queenie, and she was everything I’m not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. We did shots and traded secrets. And ended up naked at my place.

She left me a thank-you note in the morning and her panties as a parting gift. But no way to contact her.

Six weeks later I’m sitting in the first official team meeting of the season, and there she is. I neglected to mention that I’m the goalie for Seattle’s NHL team.

And Queenie? Turns out she’s the general manager’s daughter.

I've been so excited to get into King's story, as he has come across as the level headed guy in the Seattle Hockey team, and I couldn't wait to see the girl that would be perfect for him. Queenie was his opposite, but certainly the most perfect for King!

Queenie and King initially met at a bar and had a one night stand together. When Queenie gets a job working for her father – the general manager of the Seattle team – she is quite surprised to see King again. There was no denying the chemistry between them, no matter how platonic they want to keep their relationship!

King was such a sweet guy, and always followed the rules. He thought things through and generally took things slow. He loved hockey and was very good at it, and he certainly was explosive in the bedroom!

Queenie hadn't quite found her groove in life and was often let down by her pretty absent mother. I loved how close she was with her father, but she didn't want to always rely on him. Having King in her life made things a lot easier and I could see the change in her self esteem when they were together and after she was able to make more friends.

This was quite a good story and I liked that there was a twist I didn't see coming, however I did pick one direction that the story took. It was sweet seeing these two gel, and King often spoke before thinking things through when they first got together. It was amusing seeing both of them stumble over their words when they were nervous with one another. I liked that King found control when they were intimate and how much of a gentleman he was at all times. Helena Hunting has delivered once again and I am looking forward to what she brings us next!

I have two teasers for you today, I just loved the chemistry between them!

“I can’t believe you told her about me.”
Kingston shrugs, cheeks still pink. “We’ve been hanging out a lot lately, and I don’t keep much from her.” He picks up my ax and hands it to me.
I step up to the line on the floor. “How much have you told her?”
“We’re close but not that close.” Kingston settles his hands on my hips, and I feel his breath on my cheek when he bends down and whispers, “I’d like her to keep believing I’m a Boy Scout, even if you and I know that isn’t always true.”

Kindle Page 81

I expect him to give in and kiss me, but instead he drops his head and drags the tip of his nose along the column of my throat, lips following until he pauses at my ear. “You may need to set some parameters for me, my queen, so I know how out of control I’m allowed to get here.”
I shiver in anticipation at his low warning tone and this new endearment. “No parameters.”
He pulls back, lips temptingly close. “None?”
I bite the edge of his jaw, enjoying the slight sting and tug at the base of my skull when his fingers tighten in my hair. “I’ve been waiting for months to get back into your bedroom.” I arch up and nibble his bottom lip. “Lock the Boy Scout in the closet and let yourself off your leash, King.”

From the New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and A Lie for a Lie, a new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love.

When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?

Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.

So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

Oh my... I have forgotten how much I enjoy this world, and Helena Hunting's writing! This book had everything... a broody male lead, a quick witted girl, slow building chemistry and a pretty entertaining storyline! I was hooked until that final page!

Stevie and Bishop's first meeting was amusing; she had just had the day from hell and while trying to get into her new, temporary apartment she was abused by her neighbour! Each time they crossed paths, the tension was still there, however the flirting increased and I knew that even though these two appeared to not like one another, it was only going to be a matter of time.

The banter between Bishop and Stevie made me laugh! They tried to get under each others skin constantly. When Bishop was injured and couldn't get into his apartment, I could see that things were about to change between them, even if it was professionally to begin with. The chemistry was off the charts, and boy did it sky rocket during the first real kiss!

It saddened me that Stevie felt that she lived in her brother's – RJ's – shadow and that it effected the way she lived. She tried hard to be out of the spotlight and pushed Bishop away due to his popularity too. RJ was very self centred and made everything about himself, and I could see why he clashed so much with Bishop as well. I truly loved being back in this world, and I believe Helena Hunting delivered their story perfectly!

A sweet one, but a little amusing too 😜

“I’m not doing it for you, Stevie. I’m doing it for me.”
“Why?” My stomach is full of fluttery things.
Instead of answering, he cups my cheek in his palm and drops his head until his mouth is only a breath away from mine. “Why?”
I nod once, and our lips almost brush with the movement.
“Because if anyone should be your boyfriend, it’s me, not that shit-for-brains ass clown.”

My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed.
But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people.
It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor.
Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet.
When I realized there were two rooms, instead of calling him out, I pretended to be his sister. That’s how the story of “Milo and Maddie Hooker” began.
We were the Hookers.
My depressing trip quickly made a U-turn into an adventure.
My fake brother spent the next few days showing me around his hometown. When it was time to leave, neither of us really wanted to go yet.
So, instead of flying back to our respective homes, we ventured on a road trip.
At every stop, we’d pick up souvenirs.
But as hot as our chemistry was, we never crossed the line.
Milo knew I’d just come out of a tough relationship and didn’t want to mess with a vulnerable woman.
So instead, at the end of our trip, we made a pact to meet again in three months.
It was always my intention to meet him.
But when I got back home, reality hit in a big way.
And I worried I may have lost my handsome stranger forever.
Was there a place for him in my future?
Or had the memory of him just become my favorite souvenir?

When Ward & Keeland release a book together, you know I'm going to pick it up. My Favorite Souvenir was a fun read, beginning with two strangers going on a bit of a road trip together, until reality catches up with them.

Hazel (Maddie) decides to go on a trip that should've been her wedding. She was trying to have a break, but wasn't really enjoying it and tried to go home. Trying to find a place to stay she stumbled across Matteo (Milo) and the charade began, as they checked in as siblings! It was amusing and from then I was hooked!

I enjoyed watching these fake siblings as they went on a road trip. They had an instant connection, but neither was willing to make a move due to Hazel just coming out of a relationship. Hazel did and saw a lot of things that she only dreamed of doing, and this time with Hazel helped Matteo heal his broken heart. Things changed once they resumed their normal lives.

I could see the twist coming, and I just wanted to close my eyes as Hazel and Matteo crossed paths again. It annoyed me that some little lies were spilled and Matteo saw Hazel differently. Hazel was a strong person, and was willing to work on all aspects of her life to make sure she was making the right decision. Her ex, Brady, was not a person I liked and I didn't like the way he tried to weasel himself back into Hazel's life after what he had doe, and what he revealed.

Once again Ward & Keeland delivered a read that I enjoyed. I loved the places we visited and loved meeting both Hazel and Matteo. I enjoyed how the relationship build slowly and that they took things slowly. The twists were a bit predictable, however I still enjoyed how the story wrapped up.

This moment here moved me, it was so sweet!!

When she looked down, I used my hand to lift her chin. “Listen, I want to be your ride or die, okay? So badly. But there’s only one thing I want more than that. And that’s for you to be happy, to live the life you truly want—whether that’s with me or someone else. Don’t let Brady manipulate you into thinking you owe him anything. Just be true to yourself and what you want. Listen to your heart.” I took her hand and placed it on my chest. “But mine? It will continue to beat for you until New Orleans.”

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover ~ Review & Teaser (@colleenhoover)

Hi all!! Sorry I've been MIA, but life has been busy, once again!
Blogger has changed since I last posted, and it took some juggling to get this post done... and after I considered throwing in the towel and saying the hell with it, I found a little bit of patience and I finally I got there.

I thought I'd start the posts with a read that blew me away, and who better than Hoover
Heart Bones was simply amazing, and I read it every chance I could. These broken characters hooked me and I had hope they would find happiness together.

Life and a dismal last name are the only two things Beyah Grim's parents ever gave her. After carving her path all on her own, Beyah is well on her way to bigger and better things, thanks to no one but herself.

With only two short months separating her from the future she's built and the past she desperately wants to leave behind, an unexpected death leaves Beyah with no place to go during the interim. Forced to reach out to her last resort, Beyah has to spend the remainder of her summer on a peninsula in Texas with a father she barely knows. Beyah's plan is to keep her head down and let the summer slip by seamlessly, but her new neighbor Samson throws a wrench in that plan.

Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface.

She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things. Which means they're drawn to each other. With an almost immediate connection too intense for them to continue denying, Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling. What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea.

As always, Colleen Hoover has struck me with her incredible writing and storytelling. Heart Bones was a soul crushing read that turned into something beautiful as I watched two lonely and troubled people find a connection with one another and a spark of happiness that they hadn’t had before.

Honestly, my heart ached for Beyah, as her world was turned upside down in one day. She was such a lost and broken girl, who had such a sad and lonely upbringing. She survived her life so far I could see a spark of life come back after she met Samson, as they made a connection only two broken people could make.

Samson was such a closed off type of guy and really kept so much to himself. I could see that he could read Beyah, and connected with her immediately. He was able to get Beyah to open up, but he kept his secrets close to his chest.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, as moving as it was. The more I got to know the characters, the more I liked them. I liked the relationships that Beyah built with her Father, Step Mother and Step Sister, Sara. I was blown away with how incredibly deep this book was Hoover has such an incredible writing style and always pulls me into her reads. This one left such an impact on me I will be thinking about it for a long time to come.

There were so many beautiful moments, here are a couple of teasers that really touched me.

“Don’t. Don’t hug me. It’ll just feel patronizing now that you know I’ve never been hugged like that.”
Samson shakes his head gently as he stares down at me. “I wasn’t going to hug you, Beyah,” he whispers. His face is so close to mine, his breath grazes my cheek when he speaks. I feel like I’m about to slide to the floor, so I grip the edge of the counter behind me.
He dips his head until his lips catch mine. His mouth is soft, like an apology, and I accept it.

Kindle Page 138

“If there’s nothing inside a heart that can break, why does it feel like mine is going to snap in half when it’s time for me to move next month? Does your heart not feel like that?”
Samson’s eyes scroll over my face for a moment. “Yeah,” he whispers. “It does. Maybe we both grew heart bones.”
