A stunning, heartfelt new stand-alone by New York Times best-selling author Mia Sheridan.

Brant Talbot runs a glitzy network of high-end bars in New York City, enjoying all the benefits of the lavish lifestyle he's worked so hard to achieve. When he learns that his estranged father is dying, he must return to his family's Kentucky horse farm - and to a past he thought he left behind.

While facing long-buried truths, he collides with his father's secretary, Isabelle Farris. Despite his undeniable attraction to the beautiful, independent young woman, he sees secrets in her eyes and believes she has designs on Graystone Hill.

Now the one woman he can't afford to trust is about to become the one he can't let go.

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY CAPRICORN. Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

It’s been a long time since I have read anything by Mia Sheridan, but I do remember that her work really hit home each and every time that I picked up one of her reads. Brandt’s Return was everything that I expected from Sheridan: emotional and gripping, but it also showed me the cost of love and loss.

Honestly, my heart broke in the epilogue, getting the details of a situation through a third party was horrific, but I was so glad to get that insight so I could understand what was to come. I could see why Isabelle was such a strong person in the present and that she would be able to hold her own. When she first spoke to Brandt, she was authoritative, even though he was rude, and their first introductions he did not let him walk all over her.

Brandt grew throughout the read, letting go of the anger that he had bottled up over the years. It was sweet seeing them together and the glimpses of happiness that they would have together. He helped Isabelle through a few intense moments, but struggled with his own feelings.

Sheridan has once again delivered a read that will stay with me for a while to come. It was heartbreaking and intense, but also beautiful as they both found the love they never thought they could have. The secondary storyline was nerve-racking, as secrets from Isabelle’s past began to surface and left her with many questions about what happened three years earlier. I was able to finish this book with a deep sigh, knowing how it all wrapped up was just as I hoped!

Oh Brandt... how I loved that guy!!

I was captivated, completely mesmerized by her. I felt like the schoolboy I’d been the last time I was here—enamored by a girl far beyond my league. But I wasn’t. I was a man and she was a woman and the electricity that sparked between us compelled me to take the few steps to where she stood, clasping her hands in mine and lacing our fingers together.
Her gaze fluttered down to our joined hands, and then she slowly lifted her eyes, meeting mine. The moment felt...holy...as if the trees around us—those mighty sentinels—were holding their breath for just a moment, waiting. Kiss her. Isabelle’s lips parted and I leaned in, bringing my mouth to hers softly, gently, a mere brushing of lips before I pressed forward, needing more, needing to taste, to explore.

“You . . . you looked for me?” I asked, confused.
“Yes. In every room I entered.” His voice was low, deep, his breath whispering over the skin of my throat as he spoke. “I knew you wouldn’t be there. I knew you were here, far away, and yet...it was the first thing I did. I found myself looking for you in every room I walked into. I wanted so much for you to be there.”
