Her teen crush is now a ruthless killer and powerful mafia heir. Will one life-altering night unite or destroy them?

Bennett Mazzone grew up ignorant of the truth: he is the illegitimate son of the most powerful mafia boss in New York. Until it suited his father to drag him into a world where power, wealth, violence, and cruelty are the only currency.

Celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Sin City should be fun for Sierra Lawson, but events take a deadly turn when she ends up in a private club, surrounded by dangerous men who always get what they want.

And they want her.

Ben can’t believe his ex’s little sister is all grown up, stunningly beautiful, and close to being devoured by some of the most ruthless men he has ever known. The Vegas trip is about strengthening ties, but he won’t allow his associates to ruin her perfection. Although it comes at a high price, saving Sierra is his only choice.

The memory of Ben’s hands on her body is seared into Sierra’s flesh for eternity. She doesn’t regret that night. Not even when she discovers the guy she was crushing on as a teenager is a cold, calculating killer with dark impulses and lethal enemies who want him dead.

Understanding the risks, she walks away from the only man she will ever love, stowing her secrets securely in her heart. Until the truth becomes leverage and Sierra is drawn into a bloody war—a pawn in a vicious game she doesn’t want to play.

As the web of deceit is finally revealed, Ben will stop at nothing to protect Sierra. Even if loving her makes him weak. In a world where women serve a sole purpose, and alliances mean the difference between life and death, can he fight for love and win?

A STAND-ALONE DARK MAFIA ROMANCE.

I hadn't read a dark romance in a while, so I was pretty excited to get into this one. It was quit good, but it wasn't as dark as I hoped, but it was still quite enjoyable. I was looking forward to seeing how Sierra would go with her teen crush.

I must admit, the beginning of this book had me in suspense! When Sierra went to celebrate her birthday and wound up in the back of a club had me holding my breath! I was annoyed with one of her friends, she was very careless, but I loved that strong side to Sierra!

Bennett appeared to be cold hearted, as he had stepped up into his role and had to appear heartless, but didn’t quite pull it off the way he hoped. I liked how gentle he was at times, but he could be fierce as well, and he became quite possessive of Sierra.

There were a few characters that annoyed me and I wished that we didn't have to see them so much; one of her sisters was so self absorbed! The book wrapped up quite quickly, where I felt like I didn't know where to look! I look forward to more books from this world.

Here are a couple moments from Bennett's perspective, his possessiveness and his kindness...

“They’re the same age. She’s beautiful. He lives like a monk. Now you’ve thrust them together, and they’ll be spending a ton of time with each other.” He shrugs.
“She is going to be my wife,” I hiss, shoving the smaller box at his chest. “And if he can’t keep his dick in his pants, I’ll chop it off and solve the problem.”
“Wow. She really has you all worked up.”

“You are breathtaking tonight. You steal all the air from my lungs every time I look at you.”

What happens when the cute mountain man you made out with in an ice fishing shack turns out to be your brother’s best friend?
A whole lot of awkward, that’s what.
Maggie’s mind is reeling when she discovers the guy she became tangled up with at Marv’s Bait & Tackle isn’t a stranger like she thought.
The big snag: Sam and Maggie’s chemistry is hot enough to melt ice, which makes keeping their secret far more difficult than either expected. Especially when one of them decides they want this arrangement to be more than just a catch and release.

After reading the first book in this series, I was super excited to get into Sam's book, and what a hoot it was! Right from the opening chapters I was hooked and was excited to see how Maggie and Sam wuld go!

I really liked the independent side to Maggie, trying out new things - she certainly was a force of nature! She had her secrets and was doing things out of her comfortzone to discover who she was without a guy in her life. I've always liked Sam, so it was great to see his sweeter side, and how he slowly let Maggie in. The way they did things together and how the chemistry grew every time they interacted.

This was such a fun story and I was grinning the whole time I was reading. I enjoyed all the things the characters did and how they were able to find things together that they liked. Daws did a great job with this story and I know I need to come back to this series again!

Sam really was the sweetest. I loved this moment!

“I feel like I shouldn’t be teaching you how to snowboard. I should be teaching you how to know your worth.”
“What?” I ask, my eyes looking all over his rugged features for some sense of what he’s talking about.
“Maggie, you are smart, sweet, stubborn, and hilarious without even trying to be. You need to realize that a guy who doesn’t treat you right doesn’t deserve to be around you. Sex isn’t about being equal. It’s about being generous.”

When romance novelist Kate Smith suddenly gets writer's block as she's beginning the final installment of her international bestselling erotic Bed 'n Breakfast series, she'll do pretty much anything to get her groove back.

Like sneak into a Tire Depot waiting room because her words flow there just like complimentary coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly hot.

She manages to fly under the radar until the rugged and charming mechanic, Miles Hudson, notices the quirky redhead slinking in and out of the employees only entrance.

But she's way too intriguing to blow the whistle on.

Doing a test-drive of her new book idea sounds like a much better option.

Wait With Me was quite the entertaining read! I was hooked from the opening chapters as Daws built the world and introduced the characters. I knew that I would enjoy this one and was so that happy Daws delivered a fabulous read.

Kate was an amusing character, sneaking into the tire depot to do her writing and consuming the complimentary food! Honestly, she was a hoot, even taking in the cars of people that she knew as well! Miles was an alpha male but was convinced that he wasn’t ready for a relationship but became possessive of Kate after a while. He was eager to help Kate with any research that she required.

I liked getting to know both characters and watching their chemistry grow. It was sweet that Miles noticed Kate and went out of his way to see her. His possessiveness grew throughout the read and Kate’s quirkiness did not stop. For my first Amy Daws read, I was really impressed, and I’m looking forward to coming back to this world!

I liked seeing the struggles that Kate/Mercedes had with her own romance.

Miles runs a hand through his hair, causing his shock of black locks to stick out all over. “I’m sorry. I…don’t know what to say.”
I sigh and take mercy on him. “There really is nothing else to say. I’ll just…I’ll see you around, Miles.”
I turn and stride away, humiliated by the fact I was just rejected by my real-life book boyfriend.

Dare You to Hate Me by B. Celeste ~ Review & Teaser (@authorbceleste)

When I asked my best friend to run away with me at sixteen, I knew he’d say no.⁣ ⁣

He had football, an amazing family, and a happy home to go back to every day.⁣ ⁣

So the night I snuck out of his bedroom window after hugging him goodbye, I’d accepted I’d probably never see him again.⁣ ⁣

Then we both wind up at Lindon University four years later.⁣ ⁣

I’m barely picking up the pieces of my life when the boy whose initials I used to doodle hearts around approaches me at work.⁣ ⁣

Aiden Griffith. Lindon U’s star tight end.⁣ ⁣

Still as attractive. Still as dedicated.⁣ ⁣

With rumors of him being drafted to the NFL coming to fruition, I know it’s only a matter of time before we have to say goodbye again.⁣ ⁣

But he can’t seem to let me go no matter what I say, and I don’t think I want him to.

B. Celeste is another new author to me, and I quite enjoyed Dare You to Hate Me. It was a second chance romance, with a few small twists

I liked Aidan a lot, he was a quiet and caring guy, with plenty of talent. He didn’t fit into the typical jock stereotype, and that made him even more sweet. Ivy struggled growing up, felt unloved and forgotten, made hard decisions which she learnt from. She had so many demons in her past and was trying hard to move on and never forgot Aidan.

This wasn’t an easy read as Ivy dealt with her past and revealed her demons to Aidan. I enjoyed the way B. Celeste told Ivy and Aidan’s story. There were a few twists thrown in that added an extra punch to the storyline, but overall it was a beautiful read.

I loved the way that Aidan spoke to Ivy, he was always sweet and caring and said the right things!!

“Let me be a reason to smile,” he whispers so quietly it’s almost drowned out with the pitter-patter of rain around us.
My eyes close for a moment as I collect my rampant emotions, but I already know I’m done for with that plea spoken in seven tiny words.
All I can manage to say through my choked voice is, “I miss smiling too.”

Kindle Page 109

“And no matter how many times you say you don’t want to be claimed by anyone, we both know that’s bullshit. You were always mine, Chaos. Five years doesn’t change the fact that it’s always been me. Nobody else had a chance. So, that’s what I want. You. Not just your body. But you. Your personality. Your mind. Your problems. Your goddamn companionship. Because that’s what I’ve missed since the day I watched you disappear into the night. Stop trying to push me away. It won’t work.”

B. Celeste was born and raised in Upstate New York where she still resides with her four-legged feline sidekick Oliver “Ollie” Queen.

Her love for writing began with poetry, which she learned to write after watching her father write poetry for her mother, before she found interest in short stories, novellas, and novels.

After getting two degrees in English and Creative Writing, B has written over 12+ full length novels, been invited to many signings around the world, and hopes to begin traveling to see readers worldwide.

We Were On a Break by Lindsey Kelk ~ Review & Teaser (@LindseyKelk)

Is it a break? Or is it a blip?

LIV and ADAM are in love.
LIV and ADAM are supposed to be getting engaged.
Until ADAM accidently suggests they take a break.
And LIV starts thinking …

Friends, family and bystanders all have an opinion and one complication leads to another as Adam and Liv try to muddle through in this hilarious, heartwarming comedy.

Are they split up - or are they on a break? What exactly are they allowed to get away with? And, most importantly, what do Liv and Adam really want?

I stumbled upon this read looking for something new and fun. We Were On a Break was just what I needed, a read that can show what happens when things go pear shaped and a couple is on a break.

I could see that both Liv and Adam loved one another, but Adam's freak out turned into them having a break. It was interesting to see them both fumble through their lives, the way they handled work and seeing the support they got frome their close friends. There were so many amusing moments as the characters tried to carry on as normal, and Liv's friends were hilarious as they banded together to support their friend!

This was quite the entertaining read, I laughed a lot while reading it. I enjoyed Kelk's world building and how the characters handled each hurdle. The side characters added an element of spark and I just couldn't read it quick enough!

If I ever am feeling down, I hope I have someone like David to come and tell me I'm exceptional!

‘I see a clever, caring, funny woman with a great arse and nice tits who chose to dedicate her life to making a difference in other people’s,’ David replied, one fist dug into his hip. ‘It pisses me off when you constantly do yourself down. Abi doesn’t do it, Cass doesn’t do it, I don’t do it. You’re a good person, Liv, but you’re angry with yourself for not being exceptional. Only you’re totally missing the point – you are exceptional.’

My Accidental Forever by Alexis Winter ~ Review & Teaser (@alexis_author)

Girl meets boy.
Girl gets arrested.
Boy bails girl out of jail.
Boy and girl get married?

Not exactly how all good fairytales start but hey, I’m not exactly a princess—more like a hot mess dancing on a table.
One thing I know for sure, true love’s first kiss didn’t take place in a police precinct followed by a scorching one-night stand.

Foster Wilder was my knight in shining armor that night but we both know he can’t be my happily ever after.

I’m determined to stay single, while his family is determined to marry him off to a billion-dollar heiress.

But with rings on our fingers and ‘I Do’s’ said, it looks like that plan is out the window.

We were supposed to get divorced.
His parents weren’t supposed to find out.
And I sure as hell wasn’t supposed to fall in love and end up pregnant with his baby.

I’ve gotten myself into a lot of situations but this one takes the cake…the wedding cake.

After reading another of Alexis Winter's books, I decided I had to try more of her work, so I went back to pick up My Accidental Forever. Foster and Harley's book was quite amusing as I watched two people who weren’t into commitment, fall madly in love!

Harley and Foster’s first few encounters were so funny! I could see that they had a connection, but Harley was focused on being a good friend. When Foster had to bail Harley out of jail, I was laughing, seeing her so humiliated! Ever the gentleman, Foster was willing to look after her until she was able to go home.

These two had amazing chemistry, and I could see them falling in love. Their quick Vegas trip was what I expected, and they didn’t freak out as much as I thought they would. Foster had family issues to overcome, as they had put a lot of pressure on him and his friend Bianca. He had to figure that out and to re-evaluate his future before he could decide whether Harley was the one.

The thing that annoyed me was all the inner dialogue as both Harley and Foster were trying to understand their feelings. It felt like we were going over the same issues and they wouldn’t speak about it. Overall, it was quite a sweet read and I think I’d like to read more books in this series!

Both of these teasers I found amusing!!

“...You still have my card, right?”
I nod. “I do.”
“Use it. Anytime.”
There’s a pen in the cup holder between us and I grab it, then take his hand in mine. I write my number on the back of his hand, but instead of writing my name, I draw a small set of boobs.
He looks down at it and laughs out loud. “So I guess I should call you ‘tits’ from now on, huh?”
I smile. “Most men couldn’t get away with that, but I might just come when you call.”
His eyes grow darker. “Oh, you’ll come all right,” he replies.

Kindle Page 29

“...Now, back to how easy I am . . .” I joke, climbing into his lap.
I kiss him but he pulls away. “I hope I’m the only one you’re this easy with,” he adds on with a smirk.
I giggle. “Well, to be honest, I’ve also already been sold to a family friend. His dad traded my dad two goats and a horse.” That makes him laugh and he flips me over so I’m lying on the couch with him on top of me, between my legs.
“That’s not funny.”
“Why not?” I ask as his lips come down to my neck.
“Because I’d pay at least four goats for you.”

Not Pretending Anymore by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland ~ Review & Teaser (@PenelopeAuthor, @ViKeeland)

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds.
I was starting to lose hope.
Until a knock at my door came and God answered my prayers.
Except…uh…wrong prayer, God.
I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate.
Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway.
While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined.
Then cupcakes showed up at my door—freshly baked by Declan and just as sinfully delicious as he was.
You could say he was persistent.
I eventually folded. It wasn’t like I had another viable candidate anyway.
Plus, I was interested in someone else. And Declan was into another woman. So it wasn’t like anything would happen romantically.
After he moved in, the two of us became the best of friends. We even started to give each other advice on getting our crushes to notice us.
Eventually, Declan concocted an idea: we should pretend to be a couple to make our love interests jealous.
I was hesitant, but went along with it anyway. To my utter shock, his crazy plan worked.
Now I was dating the supposed man of my dreams, and my best friend had the woman of his.
But there was one problem.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Declan.
Those feelings we were trying to fake?
Yeah…I wasn’t pretending anymore.

Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland sure know how to tell a story and they had me hooked right from the opening chapters! I was laughing about how much effort Declan was putting in to get a room at Molly’s! They were so much fun to read about, so you can imagine that I devoured this book!

It was interesting that Declan and Molly liked other people and they were using each other to secure these other relationships. I could see them trying hard to find love, and they didn’t notice that they were falling for one another. They didn’t talk about their feelings and there were some obstacles that drove them apart.

Although Declan was a fun and outgoing person, he had an issue that he needed to work through himself. The authors handled this issue well and I could see why he struggled like he did. He had good support from his sister and was able to find some answers from his parents also. He just needed the courage to step up and grab what he wanted.

Ward and Keeland delivered this story perfectly! I loved the friends to lovers read and how they took their time realising their feelings for one another, and how far they would go to be happy! It was such an enjoyable read that I didn’t want to end!
The first teaser really moved me, the second one... there was definitely lust in the air!

“There are definitely worse problems to have. You’re living with a gorgeous man and dating another.”
I smiled, though neither scenario was what I wanted. I didn’t want to live with a man or just date one. I wanted to be someone’s ride or die.
I want love.

Kindle Page 108

God, she smelled so damn good. Where the hell was a caveman’s club when I needed it?
Molly walked toward her bedroom. When she got to the door, she stopped and spoke without looking back.
“Hey, Dec?”
“Yeah?”
“Maybe you should lock your door tonight. That margarita really went to my head.”
I smiled. “You too, babe. You too.”
