Sometimes, getting in too deep is the only way to survive . . .
As darkly charismatic as he is unpredictable, Ethan Ash knows me better than I know myself. He's spent years unraveling the family scandal I've tried desperately to escape. I once thought that made us adversaries. Now he's the closest ally I have left.

Ethan's both the chaos around me and the deep, calm center where I feel safe. People warn me about him, tell me he's dangerous. Don't fall for him. But it's too late. Because I can't tell where my addiction ends . . . and his obsession begins.

Honestly, when I first began this book I was unsure if I was going to enjoy it. I pushed through the opening few chapters and found it hard to connect to the main character. But the longer I read the better this book was! I began to like and even admire Avery, knowing what she had been through and that she had become a strong and determined woman, chasing her dreams and allowing someone into her heart. It was a fantastic read, that touched on some difficult issues and I know I'll be thinking of this book for a long time to come.

Avery's background was not what I expected. It was a bit of a shock learning what she endured, but seeing the woman she had grew into made my heart swell in pride for her. She had struggled with a few issues, but had become a woman determined to create her own path in life and to become successful in a career that she was passionate about.

What she didn't expect was to fall for Ethan Ash. He knew a lot about her and he understood her unlike any other person in her life. They had a strong attraction to one another and I loved how fiercely he wanted to protect Avery. I could see over the course of the book that he had his own demons to fight, and that he was struggling with family issues. I liked seeing Avery support him, but eventually it took it's toll on her.

This is the first book that I've read by Tyler King and I can't believe the way she slowly pulled me into the world she created, and hooked me to her addictive writing style and the perfectly broken characters that she created. The characters had flaws but also had more in common than either of them realised. Their demons haunted them daily, and they each had their own ways of getting past them. Avery and Ethan seemed to be soul mates, but some issues can turn the strongest love toxic. There were a few threads that I would've liked to see tied up, but they were only minor plot issues. Riot Street turned out to be an amazing, addictive and passionate read that I couldn't help but devour! Tyler King has an incredible writing style and I know I'll be reading more of her work in the future.

I've got three swoons today... I just couldn't help it! They are all just a little bit cheeky!!

“Don’t be mad at me…”
The doors open and we step inside the elevator.
“But you going off on Cyle like that…” Ethan runs both hands through his hair and slides me a look as the doors close. “I’m so turned on right now.”
“Yeah. Me, too.”

“I can be attracted to you and mad at you at the same time. I’m great at multitasking.”
“I see.” Licking his lips, Ethan smirks. “So I’m forgiven?”
“You kidding? You called me a brat. Start with groveling and we’ll see where it goes.”
“Oh, I can grovel.” He brushes past me to grab his laptop and folders, then whispering in my ear: “I’ll give new meaning to the word.”

Kindle Arc Loc 3715

Regarding me, his hand goes to his jaw and fingers rub across his mouth. “You look incredible.”
“Yes, I put on a dress, and I’m transformed from a grotesque swamp monster.”
“No, no.” He gestures for me to walk ahead of him toward the stairs. “Just…Wow, that’s all. Very nice.”

Dirty Billionaire by Meghan March ~ Audiobook Review & Quote-tastic (@Meghan_March)

I've got a big dick and an even bigger bank account. That's pretty much where my bio ends. Honestly, I don't need to say anything else. I've just sold 99% of women on going home with me.

Do I sound like an asshole to you?

That's because I am.

And guess what? It works for me just fine.

Or at least it did.

Until I met her.

Books talk about sparks flying. Fuck that shit. With her, it was like emergency flares mixed with jet fuel. Or maybe just straight up napalm.

Only one problem.

She didn't leave her name or number when she disappeared from the hotel room after the hottest fucking night of my life. Now I've had a taste of unicorn pussy—the sweetest, rarest of all pussy—and I need it again.

So what's an asshole to do?

I took this problem to the street. A missed connection gone viral.

And when I find her? I'm keeping her.

After tasting Meghan March's work last year, I decided it was time to pick something else of hers to read, and since I was on the hunt for an audio book, I decided to pick up a freebie and grab the audio. And if you've listened to Sebastian York before, there's no way you'd pass over listening to his dark and smooth voice. Elena Wolfe did a fantastic job of portraying Holly as well, the accents were exactly what I imagined! Dirty Billionaire was the sexy read that I expected it to be, but I was more intrigued by the direction of the story and the connection the characters were building. I just wished I'd done a little more research, so I knew that it was the first in a trilogy that continues into the next book. There's nothing worse than getting to the end of a book and it ends so abruptly! So, now I'm hooked, and I know I'll have to read the next books.

Holly was focused on her career, but was unhappy with the way that she was being treated by her record company. They were manipulating her into a relationship with a cheating guy who wasn't interested in her. She decided to have a night to herself before they pushed things too far and she landed in the bed with Creighton Karas.

Creighton and Holly were fun to read about. Creighton was all possessive alpha male and loved to be in charge. Seeing him with Holly was amusing because she was a little feisty, but when they hit the sheets, she was a touch submissive as well. He loved both sides of her and I could see that he wasn't going to be satisfied with just one night of being with her.

I enjoyed how this story unfolded; watching Creighton and Holly fall for one another slowly over a short period of time. There were plenty of sexy scenes, as they got to know one another intimately, and boy were they hot! *fans self* But I could see that they were changing and wanting more from this relationship, making sacrifices and wanting to keep each other happy. But like most trilogies, it ended abruptly, and I was left frustrated! What happens next? Do they work things out? Will they fight for one another or let it all go! I know I'll have to get the next one and find out!

I think both of these show a piece of both Holly and Creighton... they are perfect together!

“I think you’re way too used to getting everything you want.” I say it without heat, because we both know it’s the truth.
“Of course I am, and right now, I want you naked. I’m going to get that too.”
And there go my panties. “Is that so?” I eye his three-piece suit. “Because you’re certainly not naked.”
He reaches for the knot of his tie and tugs it loose. “That’s about to change.”

“There are no other men when it comes to you, do you understand me, Holly? None. You belong to me.”

Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre ~ Audiobook Review & Swoon Thursday (@ReadAlessandra)

I've managed to pick up another Alessandra Torre book and I love how Trey described moments in reference to lingerie, since it's a passion of his. This book took place over a couple of years, and I enjoyed the depth of the relationship between Trey and Kate.

I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.
Damn our friendship.
Damn my fears.

I really enjoyed listening to Love in Lingerie. The narrator portrayed both characters well, and I found myself immersed into the world. The story wasn't rushed and the relationship between Trey and Kate strengthened over a few years. It was a beautiful read, and everything I hoped from Alessandra Torre.

Trey hired Kate when he was struggling with his business. He was on the brink of bankruptcy and he needed someone with their own unique vision to build up Marks Lingerie once again. When Trey and Kate met, I could see that they were attracted to one another, but they didn't want to act on their feelings as it may jeopardise their working relationship and the company. Instead, I watched as they carried on their lives, dating and working, and fighting their attraction.

Trey was the alpha male I expected him to be, and he liked a little kink in his sexual relationships. Once Kate entered his life I could see that he was looking at himself differently and wanted something deeper than the quick sexual encounters that he had in the past.

Kate was the vanilla relationship type of girl, but I could see that she was searching for something more than the current relationship she was in. It lacked excitement and spark, and Trey seemed to bring a little bit of fire back into her life. It was good to see her become more confident and work hard to succeed in her new role.

It was good to see Trey and Kate together. They worked well together, despite their attraction for one another. They both grew through out the story and their life goals shifted a little. I liked that the book was set over a few years, so that the depth of their relationship felt real.

I've read a few of Alessandra Torre's books before, and I've enjoyed each book that she'd delivered. I love that she creates unique characters and each exciting new world she created. I'm looking forward to her next project, and that one day I will catch up on some of her earlier work.

Sigh... This moment was beautiful! I love how delicate Trey was!

I slide my hands down the back of her pants and grip her ass, rolling with her, until she falls back on the leather couch, her hair loose and wild, her eyes burning in a way I have never seen. I pause.
“What? What’s wrong?” she asks, her chest heaving, cheeks flushed.
“Don’t move,” I whisper.
“You’re not coming, are you?” Her eyes widen and God, I fucking love this woman.
“No.” I grin. “I am definitely not coming. I just…” I just want to savor this moment. I just want to remember, forever, how she looks right now, the way she reaches for me, pants for me. I want to remember how her lips are swollen from my kiss, her heart is pounding, the glow of her skin. I swallow. “I just want to tell you that I love you.”

SOMETIMES THE ONE WHO LOVES YOU IS THE ONE WHO HURTS YOU THE MOST

Lily hasn't always had it easy, but that's never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She's come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up - she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily's life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe even a little arrogant. He's also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily, but Ryle's complete aversion to relationships is disturbing.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan - her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

This book contains graphic scenes and very sensitive subject matter.

I always know that if I'm looking for a strong and emotional read that Colleen Hoover will deliver it every time. So it's not surprising that I was swept away with the beauty and the message that this book delivered. I just know that this book will stay with me for some time to come.

It Ends with Us was written in the present, but the character would reminisce by reading her journal's from when she was 15/16. It was sweet to see she actually addressed them to someone, because she found it easier to talk to someone about her life. It was hard to see the struggles that she dealt with at home, but sweet to see her develop a relationship with someone who needed help themselves.

In the present, I enjoyed seeing Lily as an adult, and that despite everything she had the strength and determination to succeed. The relationship that she had with her mother was better and she supported Lily with every choice that she made.

What I loved most was watching the relationship between Lily and Ryle grow! I could feel the butterflies and the new feelings of meeting someone new. But over time Lily had to face some hard situations and made some decisions that were difficult. It was sad to see her struggle and sort through all her feelings.

There were other characters that I met that I loved as well. I was glad that despite everything, Lily did have people that she could rely on. She often struggled on her own, but when she opened up she had the support she needed.

This book was a powerful read that every girl should pick up. I love that it carried a deep meaning for me and that it was something that was personal to the author. Colleen Hoover has shown why she is such a fantastic author by creating characters that aren't perfect but in the end make the right decisions not only for themselves, but for those they love.

I picked a couple of quotes today, both of these moments were sweet!

“I had that picture made the day after I took it,” he says. “It’s been in my apartment for months now, because you were the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen and I wanted to look at it every single day.”

Paperback Page 93

He pulls back to look down at me and when he sees my tears, he brings his hands up to my cheeks. “In the future . . . if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again . . . fall in love with me.” He presses his lips against my forehead. “You’re still my favorite person, Lily. Always will be.”

Turning Back by J.A. Huss ~ Review & Swoon Thursday (@jahuss, @XpressoTours)

I lived in the dark for three years. My whole world revolved around the whims and happiness of three men. It was just a trip into the forbidden. A way out of a bad situation and forward into nothingness.

Quin, with his easy smile and charming good looks. He was always there for me... Until he wasn’t.

Smith, and his dispassionate attention. He was never there for me and he never regretted it.

Bric, the one who listened, but only to himself. Self-absorbed, self-obsessed, and self-serving. He was never the one I wanted.

And now he might be the only one I have left.

It was good while it lasted, I guess. But it could’ve been so much more. It could’ve been so much better.

And that’s why I’m turning back.

What a fantastic read this was! I think because I met Bric and Quin in the previous book, I felt more attached to them in Turning Back. Rochelle, Bric and Quin had already developed feelings for one another because they had played the game together before. But old insecurities and the danger of being hurt kept them from overstepping once again.

Rochelle was the mystery woman that had me intrigued in the first book after her disappearing act. I enjoyed getting to know her and her reasons as to why she left. I could see that she carried deep feelings for both Bric and Quin, and she wanted the life that she once imagined she could have.

I liked seeing the change in Bric! He wasn't the cold and controlled man that he portrayed himself to be. He showed kindness and a sweetness that, I think, even surprised himself. However, he still was that master manipulator that I'd come to love, taking control in and out of the bedroom.

Quin was always the more emotional one of the guys and it was even more evident in Turning Back. He wore his heart on his sleeve and showed how much Rochelle's leaving hurt him. Little by little he became stronger and allowed Rochelle, and even Bric back into his heart.

It was good to see Smith and Chella again too, how they had changed and evolved over the past year. What Smith was carrying around... OMG! Who would've thought! But regardless of all the change they had been through, each of them supported one another when they needed it most.

J.A. Huss, you freaking rock girl! You created the hot and sexy world, given me this gorgeous thriple and made me fall in love! The characters were so different, they were scared and hurt, but would do anything to be together. And to see the family they had become was so cute! I am so excited to get into the next book, I tell ya!
