Breaching the Contract by Chantal Fernando ~ Review & Quote-tastic (@ChantalFernando, @GalleryBooks)

What a quick, sizzling read Breaching the Contract was! I had fun with this one, but I just wanted it to be longer! I loved the characters and sexual tension between Kat and Tristan! I'm looking forward to more books in the series!

New York Times bestselling author Chantal Fernando returns with BREACHING THE CONTRACT, book one in a brand new series—The Conflict of Interest Series—about a brigade of lawyers who, despite being bad boys at heart, always end up just on the right side of the law.

Katerina Dawson knows exactly what she wants from life. And as the new associate at the top law firm in the city, she’s ready to live out her dreams of becoming a criminal lawyer. But going on coffee runs and babysitting kids during the day was definitely not what she had in mind. She knows that anyone else would kill to be in her shoes, but she has to draw the line somewhere. That’s easier said than done, though, when Kat has to confront her handsome boss…

Tristan Channing and Jaxon Bentley run a successful law firm together and the two partners couldn’t be busier right now. When Jaxon suddenly takes a leave of absence, Tristan begrudgingly assumes responsibility of the new associate, the hot new associate, who has curves for days. Needing to keep his distance from her, Tristan sends Kat on needless errands and has her doing work even an intern wouldn’t touch, like picking up his kids. But his plan backfires when he sees his children grow attached to Kat and sees her getting comfortable in his home. It triggers something deep within him, and it feels right to have her there. Will Tristan be able to keep his work and personal lives separate, or will he find that his heart holds the final verdict?

Chantal Fernando is back with an all new series called Conflict of Interest. Breaching the Contract, the first book in the series, was a short read, but it was was packed full of great characters, amazing chemistry and an entertaining plot!

Kat landed her job at the firm, fresh out of law school. She was a bright and confident girl who wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. She fitted into her new job well, and had good guidance from Jaxon Bentley. One of the other partners, Tristan Channing, made things difficult for Kat, but like the strong willed girl she was, she managed to put her issues aside to get the job done.

Tristan was an abrupt and broody guy, but it wasn't long before I found out why he was so tough. He kept people at arms length and rarely let people in after what he had already lost. I loved getting to know him and seeing the other side to Tristan and meeting his family.

I always love getting lost in Chantal Fernando's books. These characters in particular were like anyone that I could relate to. They may not have been looking for love, but found it when they least expected it. I adored the supporting characters: the other characters at the firm, as well as Tristan's kids, Laura and Logan. My only complaint is that it was too short! I would've liked the story to be fleshed out a bit more towards the end, where it felt a little rushed. However, I'm looking forward to more books in this series!

This first quote was a changing point for Kat and Tristan. The second one had me laughing... hard!!

He brings my fingers to his lips and kisses them.
I all but stop breathing.
Then he kisses my palm, and then my knuckles, and that’s when I know I’m in trouble, because maybe Hunter is right.
He does like me.
I flutter my eyes open and look into his and say, “What are we doing?”
He drops his gaze. “I don’t know.”
“I didn’t say to stop,” I whisper, so with a lip twitch, he brings his lips back to my knuckles one more time, and then he lets go of my hand and places a kiss on my cheek, on my jaw, and then finally, a sweet, gentle one on my lips.
That’s all I remember before sleep and pain consume me.

“Well, we’re going to go to court today and kick ass, and then after that I’m going to take you home with me, and we’re going to have dinner with the kids. And when they fall asleep, I’m going to take you into my room and go down on you until you’re screaming my name.”
I open my mouth and then close it. “Did you just say that?”
He nods.
I purse my lips, and stand. “Fine, but I want to sit on your face.”

Temporary by Sarina Bowen & Sarah Mayberry ~ Review & Swoon Thursday (@SarinaBowen, @MayberrySarah)

Temporary was a helluva fun read! I loved the chemistry between Grace and Callan, even though it grew slowly. Callan was serious hotness, and boy did he make me swoon!

The most beautiful man I've ever seen is the one who can ruin everything...

The first time I lay eyes on Callan Walker, I know he’ll be trouble. With his smug grin, hot Aussie accent and thousand dollar shoes, he’s just the kind of rich guy who always gets what he wants.

And he wants two things: a night of sin, and my cooperation as he outmaneuvers his powerful mother to take control of his uncle’s estate.

I can’t afford either one. I’m the only thing standing between my little sister and the foster care system. He may have money and charm on his side, but I have something even more powerful -- pure desperation. This temp job at his mother’s company can become a full time job for me. It has to.

But when Callan’s eyes rake over my body, sometimes I forget my obligations. His piercing gaze finds the fun, optimistic girl I used to be and not the tired person I’ve become.

And it works--if only for a moment. Our night together was a mistake. I can't afford to get sucked into his high-powered family’s treachery. But the closer I get to Callan, the more layers I find beneath those expensive clothes. Though I can’t forget this is temporary. He’s temporary. I have too much to lose.

Too bad my foolish heart didn’t get the memo...

As soon as I met Callan Walker in Temporary... with his smug grin, hot Aussie accent... I knew I was going to love this book! I'm a fellow Aussie and I love to see authors portray other Aussie's in these hot addictive reads! So, you know I really enjoyed this one! Especially since the characters were not looking for love, but inevitability, found it anyway!

I really loved Grace's determination. She wanted to be good at her temporary job and to find permanent employment. She was such an amazing person, looking after her little sister and doing what she could to make a good life for her, despite the crappy situation they were in.

Callan began as the typical spoiled party boy, but he soon stood up once he realised what he lost. He was determined to set things right, but I could see his attraction growing for the temp that was sent to deal with his uncle's possessions. It saddened me that he had such a strained relationship with his mother, but I was glad he had such a good relationship with his uncle. It was amazing to see him change once he met grace, too!

I thoroughly enjoyed this read, I think enemies to lovers has got to be once of my favourite troupes. I love the bickering, the flirting and how the characters give in to their lust and fall for one another. Grace and Callan were fun to watch, as they slowly came together and gave into the feelings that were brewing. Even though they were from two different worlds, they were magic together.

I've read Sarina Bowen before and I am continuing to love her work. Sarah Mayberry is new to me, but I know I'll be on the hunt for more of her work because this was a book I couldn't put down. Together these authors are an amazing force and I hope they bring us more stories in the future!

Wow... this kiss was so hot! It built slowly and I knew it was going to be scorching!

My self-control was done and dusted. I tugged on her hand to draw her closer, then leaned down. I found the corner of her mouth with my lips and just hovered there, teasing her. Grace made a breathy little sound of surprise, but she didn’t pull away.
I pressed my lips against her warm skin, then caught her mouth under my own. Her moan was all I needed. I deepened the kiss, and her lips felt soft and supple beneath mine, as I always knew they would.

Royal Pain by Tracy Wolff ~ Early Review & Quote-tastic (@TracyWolff, @readloveswept)

He’s a womanizer. He’s cocky. He’s not exactly a prince. Only he technically is. Meet your new royal obsession in this addictive novel from New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff.

Being rich opens a lot of doors. When you’re rich and royal, those doors lead to a new bedroom every night. I should know. The tabloids call me His Royal Hotness, Prince Kian of Wildemar. Women across the world see me as a naughty fairy tale, an image I’m happy to indulge. As the spare to the heir, I’m the prince with none of the power . . . and all of the perks.

Then my twin brother is kidnapped, and suddenly I’m the one who could be king. The crown chasers start circling—and yet it’s a luscious waitress who catches my eye. With a smart mouth and the curves to back it up, Savannah Breslin is as brazen as I’d expect an American commoner to be.

But Savvy’s not interested in playing Cinderella. As sexy as she is, she’s no stranger to heartbreak. Besides, a nice guy wouldn’t drag her into all the drama that comes along with royalty. Lucky I’m not a nice guy. And, as it turns out, I might not even be her first prince. . .

I'm a sucker for romances involving royalty, so I was excited to get my hands on Royal Pain! It's not all fun and games, as Prince Garrett was kidnapped, and Prince Kian had to step up into his brother's shoes. However I loved watching the sparks ignite between Prince Kian and Savvy!

Prince Kian was exactly like the cocky playboy I expected him to be in the beginning, having women all around him and using them for his own pleasure. When his brother disappeared, he soon stood up when needed. I liked seeing this change in Kian, as he understood the importance of his role in the family. He just didn't want the stuck up girls chasing him.

Savvy was definitely my kind of girl; cheeky, amusing and independent. She had secrets, but I liked seeing her let go and be in the moment with Kian. It was sad to see why she was insecure, and hesitant when it came to Kian, but he had that way of getting under a girls skin.

Tracy Wolff is an author I love to read, as she builds characters that I adore and puts them in a setting that I want to be in. Kian and Savvy were from two different worlds, but they had amazing chemistry! I enjoyed meeting some secondary characters and I can't wait to see more of them. I just wished there was more interaction between the characters, and not so much inner dialogue, but it won't stop me from picking up the next book in the series!

A couple of quotes, one that will make you swoon, the other may make you giggle!

“Trust me, Savvy. I can make you feel good.”
She laughs then, and somehow it’s even sexier than before. What is it about this woman that turns me on even when she’s laughing at me?
“I just bet you can.” She leans forward and brushes her lips against mine. Electricity arcs between us at the brief contact.

“Well, it’s not. I promise.”
“Oh, well, if His Royal Hotness says not to be embarrassed...”
“If His Royal Hotness says it, you should believe him.”
“Yeah, right.” She laughs a little. “I’ve seen the tabloid pictures.”
“Which is why you should believe me. I know what I’m talking about.”

Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. God-Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo ~ Review & Swoon Thursday (@TiffanieD)

If your intentions are pure
I am seeking a friend
For the end of the world

When Beatrice Jordan meets the unpredictable Jacob Grace, the two wild souls become instant allies. Together they discover an escape in each other's creativity and insecurities, while running from secrets they cannot seem to shake – or a fate that could throw them to the ground . . .

This 15th Anniversary reissue of Tiffanie DeBartolo's classic love story introduces a new audience of dreamers to a quintessentially real and raw vision of spirit, and inspires everyone to live — and love — as vividly as possible.

I picked up this one after reading an awesome review over at my pal Christy'sLove of Books blog. It began with Beatrice answering an odd personal add, and meeting Jacob. I loved watching their relationship bloom, but I wasn't expecting to be as moved as what I was, to the point as to where my heart shattered and I ugly cried!!

In all honestly I struggled through the first 50% of the book because I'm not used to so much inner dialogue, and being told about everything instead of experiencing it, but I powered through and understood that there was so much to cover in this one book. Boy, was it worth it because by the end I was emotionally invested in Beatrice and Jacob's story.

I loved seeing Beatrice (Trixie as Jacob called her) and Jacob's relationship grow. They were both quirky in their own ways, Beatrice being a jewellery artist and Jacob was a writer. They gelled well together and had more in common than they realised, especially father issues. Although their connection was immediate, it was sweet to see how they always wanted to be together. They had their struggles, and worked together through most of them, but there were times that weren't so simple.

Even though this book was written 15 years ago, I think it was still beautifully written. The author draws the reader into the story so that you connect to the main characters and she also created a cast of secondary characters that continued to flesh out the story. It was quite the journey, experiencing Beatrice and Jacob's whirl wind love affair, but I always had that sense of impending doom, though... You really need to get this one and experience it for yourself!!

I have three short quotes that I picked from the book, because they were moments that made an impact on me! Enjoy!

I took a step toward him, to let him know that anything he wanted to do was okay by me. He looked up, leaned in, touched his forehead to mine, and kissed me.
His lips were full and soft and he tasted like coffee.

“I know it’s late but”—he paused—“ would it be all right if I came over?”
“Right now?”
“Jacob,” I said, “how long have you been waiting to ask me that?”
“Who knows?” he said, more to himself than to me. “Maybe all my life.”

If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout ~ Review & Quote-tastic (@JLArmentrout, @HarlequinAUS)

Jennifer L. Armentrout is a master at writing stories that can shatter your heart, and that's what If There's No Tomorrow did to me. It was such a fantastic read as I got to know Lena and experience what she went through.

Lena Wise is always looking forward to tomorrow, especially at the start of her senior year. She's ready to pack in as much friend time as possible, to finish college applications and to maybe let her childhood best friend Sebastian know how she really feels about him. For Lena, the upcoming year is going to be epic—one of opportunities and chances.

Until one choice, one moment, destroys everything.

Now Lena isn't looking forward to tomorrow. Not when friend time may never be the same. Not when college applications feel all but impossible. Not when Sebastian might never forgive her for what happened.

For what she let happen.

With the guilt growing each day, Lena knows that her only hope is to move on. But how can she move on when her and her friends' entire existences have been redefined? How can she move on when tomorrow isn't even guaranteed?

What an amazing read If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout turned out to be! It's the type of book that will leave a huge impact on the reader, and I know it will be on my mind for a long time to come. I fell in love with all the characters and my heart shattered when I realised what happened. It was truly a masterpiece, and I cannot imagine how difficult this story would've been to write.

The characters were just like other normal teenagers, finishing their final year of school, but they weren't perfect, they made mistakes and one decision changed life as they knew it. The emotional turmoil I felt was amazing. I saw the close friendships that had been developed, the love that was strong between others, but I also felt the loss and the difficulty of trying to get past a situation that had turned numerous lives upside-down.

Lena was such a nice sweet girl, who had close friends and her best friend was Sebastian. She wasn't a popular girl, more of a nerdy girl who loved to read. She had it a little hard at home, as her parents had split, but she was positive and bubbly most of the time. I could see that her relationship with Sebastian was shifting, but they were both struggling with those teenage emotions and hormones. I loved Sebastian, he was the jock guy, but he was kind and caring and always had time for Lena.

Jennifer L. Armentrout is an author that I have loved over the years. She creates characters that are easy to relate to and puts them in situations that we may face at some stage in our lives. The connection between the characters felt real and I was hoping that Lena and Sebastian would be able to get through the rough time together. I hope we get more stories from this world, because I would love to see other perspectives of this situation.

Hot Bachelor by Katie McCoy ~ Review & Swoon Thursday

I've been meaning to read Katie McCoy for a while and I snapped this one up while it was on sale. It was a great read and I cannot wait to read more of her work!

Dash Hennessy is the hottest bachelor in the country, looking for love in front of an audience of millions... He just wasn't supposed to pick ME!

I just landed my dream summer gig: working as a production assistant on TV's smash-hit reality show, Ever After. Two months of sun and fun at the beach? Sign me up! Until the moment I come face to face with this season's bachelor, racing's bad boy Dash - aka, the mysterious hottie I just hooked up with at a creepy motel off the I-80.

Can you say, awkward?

Dash is sexy, charming - and totally off-limits. But the chemistry between us is way too hot to ignore. He's playing to win, and he's got his sights set on the prize: me!

Soon, the action is heating up off-screen. But between ratings-hungry producers, back-stage drama, and twelve of the most cutthroat glamazon contestants known to womankind, I'm in way over my head. Can I find my happily-ever-after, or will it be lights, camera, heartbreak?

I must've been on a comedy read roll, because I picked up this one after reading another romantic comedy. Also, Katie McCoy has been on my radar for a while and I finally took the plunge and grabbed Hot Bachelor. This particular issue also has another of Katie's books in the back, Game On, which I haven't read... as yet!

I liked that Paige didn't realise who Dash was and treated him like any normal guy. She was sassy, quick witted and kept Dash on his toes. She's an honest person who wanted to do well in her new job and tried hard not to stray from her goals.

Dash was such a swoon-worthy guy!! He was kind, nice and treated Paige well, despite the tricky situation that he was in. He was definitely the hot sexy guy you suspect him to be, but wasn't overly cocky. He had issues that affected him and made him a little vulnerable.

I loved the connection that Dash and Paige had right from the beginning. I could see how spicy their relationship was going to be and it was soooo hard to deny! I liked that both Paige and Dash had close friends they could count on with what ever challenges are thrown their way!

For my first Katie McCoy read, it was an exciting and enjoyable read. The characters felt real and believable despite being thrown into a situation that tested them. I look forward to reading more of Katie McCoy's work in the future.
