From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance.

At twenty-two years old, Sydney has a great life: She's in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter's cheating on her--and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by Ridge, her mysterious neighbor. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there's something about Sydney that Ridge can't ignore, either. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one...

Well… that was FREAKING BRILLIANT! I have read so much praise about this book, but actually reading it and listening to the music is just amazing. I knew once I began it, I would not be able to put it down… and so I spent the whole day in bed while reading and listening to the soundtrack. I grabbed the book from the library and each time a song came up, I pulled it up on my iPad, laid it on my chest and listened to it as the vibrations pulsed through my chest… it was simply incredible, entwining it all together like that.

I fell in love with each of the characters in this book too. Sydney and Ridge were both nice people and I couldn’t fault them for the situation they found themselves in. Sydney had nowhere to go after her life was thrown into chaos and the bond she formed with Ridge was slow, but became such a deep and emotional one. Ridge is a kind-hearted person and once he forms a friendship with someone it is a long term one and you can see it with Sydney too. Although there are a few details he honestly forgot to tell Sydney, he really is an incredible guy.

The relationship between Sydney and Ridge is intense, but they realise that they are unable to move forward with it. They are adult enough to keep the distance and are still able to continue working together, creating the lyrics to the songs that Ridge has made.

Although there wasn’t any earth shattering drama filled revelations, I really enjoyed how the everyday issues for each character shaped the story and their relationships; they were like normal people living their lives as normal. The way that Colleen has woven the music throughout this story really has given it incredible depth, too. When I listened to the music I could feel it through my body and it just pulled me further into the world. This was such a beautiful story, and if you haven’t read it yet… do it now!!
