Virgin. Sex addict. Daredevil. Alcoholic. Smartass … Jackass. Her five friends are about to be filmed. Reality TV, be prepared.
Rose Calloway thought she had everything under control. At twenty-three, she’s a Princeton graduate, an Academic Bowl champion, a fashion designer and the daughter of a Fortune 500 mogul. But with a sex addict as a sister and roommate, nothing comes easy.
After accepting help from a producer, Rose agrees to have her life filmed for a reality television show. The Hollywood exec is her last chance to revive her struggling fashion line, and boundaries begin to blur as she’s forced to make nice with a man who always has his way.
Twenty-four-year-old Connor Cobalt is a guy who bulldozes weak men. He’s confident, smart-as-hell and lives with his equally ambitious girlfriend, Rose Calloway. Connor has to find a way to protect Rose without ruining the show. Or else the producer will get what Connor has always wanted—Rose’s virginity.
This New Adult Romance can be described as Friends meets The Real World. Expect fist fights, drugs, sex of varying degrees, crude humor and competitive alpha males. Definitely for mature readers audiences only.

It has been a long time coming, but I finally picked up the spin off books in the Addicted series… and I really wished I had done so sooner! I forgot how much that I love the world and characters that the Ritchie sisters have created and I just loved seeing them all again.
Kiss the Sky is Rose and Connors book and I must say that I was quite surprised to see the depth of these characters. They were not at all like I imagined them to be. Yes, I knew Rose liked control, but to see everything that she juggles is amazing. Connor… holy hotness… I never expected to see this other side of him. I could see that he liked to push Rose to her limits, but wants her to relinquish control in other areas! *wink* It was hot and definitely gave me a whole new perspective to Rose and Connors relationship.
This book was highly amusing, to say the least. All the characters are thrust into living together to film a tv show, so that they can mend their public profiles. They have all taken a big hit with everything that has gone down between Lily and Lo, especially Rose’s business. I liked seeing them going about their everyday lives and seeing how they all handle the constant hurdles that arise. Rose and Connors relationship became more physical as well, and I loved seeing Connor get past all of Rose’s walls.
Krista and Becca Ritchie are incredible story tellers! From the very first page they draw me into the storyline and I go on an amazing roller coaster ride. They throw in plenty of twists that have your emotions in turmoil; I would be smiling one minute, swooning the next and they some sadness would wash over me. This story was incredible and the growth of all characters was amazing. I am keen to get onto Hothouse Flower… because boy… Ryke and Daisy certainly had plenty of tense moments in Kiss the Sky!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I loved this book SO MUCH! Omg ... the lap dance was so freaking hot. Now I want to reread this. All of them. I can't wait for Fuel the Fire. I hope Scott gets his karma.
ReplyDeleteOooooh this book sound so good, I'll download it in my kindle :) this is a really AWESOME review
ReplyDeleteYou're not the only one who procrastinates when it comes to spin-off series. At least Krista & Becca Ritchie did not disappoint! I'm betting that you won't wait nearly as long to read the next couple of installments.

I *still* need to read these authors, Naomi! I know how much you love the Addicted series and I'm glad this spin-off was so satisfying for you. Don't you just love/hate it when you've put off reading something that ends up being spectacular?!? ;) Great review, girl!
ReplyDeleteI really love the idea of books that focus on reality TV - which is funny because I'm actually not that big of a fan of actual reality TV. Go figure! Well, it sounds like this book is awesome - I remember your reviews of the original series too, so I really need to pick this one up!
