Emmy thinks her boss Kyle Sterling is a dick. She does the unthinkable after a night of drinking and sleeps with him.

She tries to put the enormous mistake behind her, but Kyle mercilessly pursues Emmy despite her new relationship with Luke Kessler and Kyle's long-standing girlfriend Jessyca.

When Emmy's resistance begins to crack, she makes a series of bad decisions that result in heartbreaking, life-altering, and even devastating consequences.

Not all relationships are black and white, and I know humans aren't perfect, so this story is about the mistakes and bad judgements that can be made in the purpose of finding true love. I know this story can be hard to like and there were a lot of elements that I enjoyed, others that I disliked, but put it altogether and it turned out to be a great story.

I liked getting to know Emmy, the successful and bright office worker for Kyle Sterling. She really disliked Kyle in the beginning and it was interesting to see him through her eyes so I could understand the love/hate relationship that she had with him. They had serious chemistry in bed, but could it be something more when they were both in relationships?

Kyle was an arrogant and strong willed person and I could see that he was determined to get what he wanted. He was easy to be with and I could see why Emmy liked him so much. But Kyle made me so angry as he would tell Emmy all the things that she wanted to hear, but seemed to string her a long. My feelings for Kyle changed a lot throughout the story and I wanted Emmy to see him for what he really was.

A relationship developed between Emmy and Luke as well, and I liked seeing them together. He was the greatest guy and I could see that he was falling for her hard and they both developed strong feelings for one another. However, I annoyed me that Emmy wasn't completely honest with!

It was good to see this book unfolded over a few years, so I could see a lot of change in the characters lives. Emmy faced a lot of difficult situations, and learned more about herself and the woman she became. It was sad to see that her relationships with her parents and family were strained in the beginning, and she really didn't like her mother, but I loved seeing it change over the years.

I will tell you now, that if you don't like cheating in your reads, you might want to pass on this book. Accidentally on Purpose was focused on a couple that found a connection, but they were also in other relationships. There was a twist that I didn't even see coming until right towards the end of the book that will make you look at the whole story differently, and I thought that L.D. Davis did it so well! I wasn't expecting it at all and made me look at the whole story differently.

I really loved this moment! It was sweet and just what Emmy needed!

"What's with all of the fucking little kisses lately?" I asked. "I don't know if you're kissing me like I'm a pet or like a friend or like a lover. They're really conflicting kisses!"
He laughed and looked at me with something like adoration and said "I'm sorry. Let me clear that up for you." He put his hand under my chin and gently tilted my head and kissed me.

Bowtie...'till I DIE.

Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck.

He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.

Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.

And their deaths.

For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, it was only the beginning…

T.M. Frazier's King series is one of my favourites! It's a little twisted, the guys are all possessive and alpha male-ish, and there's usually something a little naughty or unconventional thrown in that may have some readers throwing a tiff! BUT I LOVE IT... And I've been on edge for a LONG-ASS time waiting for Preppy's book, because... PREPPY! Sure, he's always seemed a little bizarre, a humorous killer wearing a bow-tie, but if you're a fan of this series and know what's happened to him, you want to see inside his head.

The majority of this book was set three years prior, after King was sent to prison, so I could see how the relationship between Preppy and Dre developed. It was interesting to see the way Preppy dealt with King being gone and how he focused on his Granny Growhouse operation. He came running when someone was trying to steal from him, and that situation brought Dre into his life.

It saddened me to see how low Dre was when I first met her. She was at rock bottom but didn't know how to escape the situation that she'd gotten herself into. When the opportunity arose, she ran but was lost in her head, to her demons that she was constantly battling. After some time, she was beginning to recover and spent time with Mirna, her grandmother, while Preppy made sure she stayed put. The relationship between her and Preppy grew slowly, but Dre found it hard to accept him after what she'd endured.

Preppy... he's always been a favourite character of mine! He's unusual, with his bow-tie and suspenders, able to charm the Granny's and was deadly when he needed to be. He's quirky and loyal, which is what I love most as he'll do anything to protect his self made family. I loved seeing him with Dre, I could see him falling for her, but pushed her away to protect her from his life. There's a darker side to him as well, he'd do what he wanted, when he wanted. He rescued Dre multiple times, and in one case did what any person would want to do for someone they care about in that situation.

T.M. Frazier finished the story back in the present, with such a jaw dropping moment that I wanted to throw something! I couldn't believe it, that we missed it, so I'm dying to know what happens next. I enjoyed the story from start to finish, it had some really sizzling sex scenes and plenty of action that I've come to enjoy in this series! T.M. Frazier continues to surprise me with her warped storylines, her broken characters and the addictive world... and it's going to be a long wait for part two of this set!

There's a first time for everything.

Lark Wainwright used to be fearless. Her life was a series of adventures, each one more exhilarating than the last. But her recent overseas adventure was one too many. Now she’s home and in one piece. Mostly. But her nights are filled with terror.

When her best friend offers her a stay at the orchard in exchange for help at the farmers’ markets, Lark jumps at the chance to spend fall in Vermont. But her nightmares don’t stop. Desperate to keep her fragile state a secret, she relies on the most soft-spoken resident of the Shipley Farm to soothe her when her dreams prove too much.

Zachariah is a survivor, too. It’s been four years since he was tossed aside by the polygamist cult where he grew up. He’s found a peaceful existence on the Shipley’s farm, picking apples and fixing machinery. But getting thrown away by your own people at nineteen leaves a mark on a guy. He doesn’t always know what to make of a world where movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he’d never watched TV or spoken on the phone.

Actually, there are a lot of things he’s never done.

Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they’d planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she pushes Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he's good for much more than farm labor.

I've recently come to love Sabrina Bowen's work and I was excited to get into her newest release, Keepsake, and the beautiful world she had created. Lark and Zach had both been through traumatic situations that made big changes to their lives, both physically and mentally. It was such a beautiful read, where both characters grew into stronger people, and managed to find love on the way.

Lark had recently returned from Guatamala, after being through a frightening situation. She was trying to become the person that she was before she left, but was finding it hard to keep her demons at bay. She hoped that going to spend time at her best friends property, and doing manual work would help her find the girl that she once was. It was sad to see her struggle though, while maintaining a strong front for everyone around her. Zach was the only person who seemed sooth her demons and saw past her tough exterior to the vulnerable girl underneath.

Zach had made his own life after being thrown out of the only home he'd ever known. I loved learning about his past and what he endured, and then to see how he had adjusted after finding Isaac and Leah. I loved his innocence, he was the most kind hearted person, and would do anything for those he considered family. He had feelings for Lark since she visited last spring, and could see the change in her since her ordeal. It was sweet to see him comfort her through her rough nights and to see their relationship grow through these small but huge gestures.

Lark and Zach's relationship developed slowly, because it was hard for either of them to show their feelings, and in Lark's case she was still struggling with what happened. Sabrina Bowen wove this element of the story beautifully, especially since she had to deal with the delicate issue of PTSD. But throughout it all I was glad that Lark and Zach's feelings continued to strengthen as they both grew into improved people. I enjoyed seeing the strong relationships between the others on the farm as well, they all gave greater depth to the story and I'm keen to read the previous stories, as well as the ones I've missed out on so far. I have Bittersweet, and I plan to jump into it ASAP!

This was a big moment between Lark and Zach! They were both unsure of each other's feelings and this kiss straightened everything out!

“I think I screwed up tonight. If that kiss made you uncomfortable, then I’m really sorry. I’ll never do it again. It was overstepping. Maybe I offended you.”
“Offended me,” he echoed. When he finally lifted his chin, the heat in his expression was not what I’d expected.
“Y-yeah,” I stammered.
Zach stepped into my personal space so quickly I didn’t have any time to react. My backside collided with barn wood at the same moment his hand cupped my cheek. In the nanosecond before he kissed me, I took a fast breath and inhaled the scent of hay and clean flannel. Then his hungry mouth took mine.
Oh.
Oh, wow.

Noa was trampled and nearly killed by hundreds of horny female fans at a concert for a band she didn't even like, but Alden, the bad boy lead singer of the band, saved her from the trampling tramps. Alden is used to getting what he wants, especially women, but Noa can't stand the cocky, pelvic thrusting rock star.

Some things should remain in the dark, but by grudgingly spending time with one of the biggest superstars in the world, every dark corner of Noa's life will be illuminated under the spotlight. Will she be able to survive it? Will Alden be able to survive the consequences of Noa's past? Will Noa be able to survive the sexy, brash, and talented Alden Breck?

Friction was a bit of a fun, sexy read, with a touch of danger, as I met Noa, who happened to get trampled at a concert she didn't want to be at. She loathed the main singer for Friction – Alden Breck. After he rescued her, she bantered with him and it's clear that she couldn't stand him. But after a few encounters and a promise from Alden, they spend more time together and build a strong friendship.

In the beginning, I wasn't sure about Alden, but the more I learned about him, the more I liked him. He had a troubled childhood and struggled for a long time. He found happiness with music and became very successful. He has a cocky, confident attitude, but underneath there's still a vulnerable guy who thinks he'll never be loved. So it was sweet to see him fall for Noa.

I enjoyed seeing these two spend time together and watching the chemistry sizzle. It was clear to me that Alden saw Noa differently than other girls, but she tried her hardest to keep him at arms length. It annoyed me that she was sort of stringing Alden along, as he kept opening up to her about everything. But I liked that she was willing to get to know him, and to see her become more confident around him as she had had a hard life too.

There was some seriousness to this story, as I learned that Noa had struggled through an abusive relationship. Her ex pops up occasionally to make life difficult for Noa with his possessive and stalkerish tendencies. Alden wanted to protect her as much as he could but it was hard while Noa held back details.

Friction was mostly told from Noa's perspective, but a couple of different ones popped up toward the end. I enjoyed the narration by Samantha Prescott. She was easy to listen too and kept me indulged in the story. I felt that the storyline dragged a little at times and a few issues arose that I felt weren't needed. But overall, for my first L.D. Davis read, it wasn't a bad story. It was a sizzling and entertaining read, and I look forward to trying L.D. Davis again in the future.

Alden grew up a lot throughout the story and I liked seeing this change in him, and he put his feelings out there.

“I want to be your hero,” he said softly. “I want to take care of whatever demons that are chasing you, Noa. You are… magical. You’ve changed me, forever, and I will never resent you for it. You’ve made me a better man, a man worthy of someone as extraordinary as you.”
His hands cupped my face again. “Baby, let me take care of you. Let me make it all better. Tell me where it hurts and I’ll fix it.” One hand dropped to my chest over my heart. “I’ll fix you.”
