After reading twelve books relating to this world, it has come down to Wasted Lust, the thirteenth and final book in the saga. Although a lot of the books can be read individually, if you have not read all of the books in this series, you will not fully appreciate how amazing this book actually is. Wasted Lust occurs two years after Meet Me In The Dark (where Sasha comes into it towards the end) and runs on the same timeline as Three, Two, One (321) (where there is a small overlap featuring Jax, that I had to go back and read).
I was taken on an epic journey, seeing what life was like for Sasha, all grown up and trying to find her place in the normal world. What I wasn’t ready for was the amount of emotion that I would go through, feeling Sasha’s loneliness, seeing how lost she was, and just looking for someone who understood her. With Nate trying to resurface in her life she is struggling with her promise and what she needs in her future.
Jax… was amazing! I loved how he kept close to Sasha, learned all he could about her and really understood her. He would do some of the sweetest things, but would push Sasha when needed. I could see he was falling for her as she showed her true self to him.
Once I began this book I found it SO hard to put it down. The world is complicated and I was taken all over the country, trying to figure out who the good guys actually were and wondering what was going to happen next for Jax and Sasha.
I liked the small glimpses of my favourite characters from the original series too, mainly the ladies and the kiddos! I loved seeing that their families have continued to develop and they are all close! I want more of Five and Princess Ruby, but we will wait and see!
How this story wrapped up… well, I will say my heart shattered for Sasha! I BAWLED my eyes out about the situation she was in and had to take a moment to calm down (even now those pesky tears are coming back). But the epilogues… loved them, seeing how everyone has continued on. I am satisfied with how it all finished and when I finished, I sat back and sighed… well done Julie, I loved it!

“I want to watch you watch me,” he replies in a husky voice. “I want your eyes open, on mine, and every second I’m touching you, I want to see it.”
“See what?” I whisper.
“The longing. The desire. And when I make you come, the relief.”

I agree with everything you said, Naomi! This book was an epic and very emotional ending to this whole saga, with all the characters I love and know, and especially Sasha and her heartbreaking story was so well done!

ReplyDeleteWasted Lust sounds amazing. I love that this story is connected to all of the other books that you have read by this author and has crossover characters as well. Poor Sasha :( I feel for her just by reading your review. I'm glad that she has Jax to be by her side every step of the way. Fantastic Review Naomi!!!

I can't believe it's all done... lets hope we get something cheeky about Five, huh?
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of books that are connected to this world. You can read it by itself, but other characters pop in, and it's better if you read them all together, to get the full mind experience!
ReplyDeleteHehe! Yup, I liked him because of that!
