Have you read the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout yet? Well, you should! I have been a little slow finishing the series and plan on doing so now. I have a few teasers for you today... I couldn't help myself!!
Title: Origin
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: Lux #4
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Published: August 27th 2013
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?

It has been two years since I read the first few books in the Lux series, and now I need to polish off the series. It was exciting and intriguing to be back in the Lux world again after the cliffhanger ending to Opal. I learned so much about Daedalus, what they want with Luxens and what Origins have to do with it all.
Katy was in a difficult position in the beginning and soon learned it was best to co-operate than to fight. She was put in some tough situations which she didn’t want to be in and showed that she was determined not to bend to their will completely. I loved seeing that fight still lingering inside her, she was choosing the battles worth fighting for.
Daemon was lost in the beginning and was focused on getting Katy back. After visiting some contacts he too is captured by Daedalus. But Daemon is a guy with a plan and as events unravel it becomes apparent that there are a few other people he can trust. Daemon is a remarkable guy, with a cocky attitude and can charm any girl, he uses everything at his disposal to get what he wants – Katy.
Origin began a little slow as the world builds up again, but it didn’t take long for things to happen. I learned why Blake betrayed them and I wanted him to pay. There were a lot of twists thrown in that I never expected to happen. There was plenty of action, especially in the second half of the book and I was quickly flicking the pages as there were some big revelations, traitors were exposed and sacrifices made. It was another thrilling instalment and my jaw hit the floor a few more times before that ending… I need Opposition now, because dayum, I need to see what happens now that things have been set into motion!!
I caught the tear with a kiss. “And I’m not going to let you do this by yourself. You’re my—you’re my everything, Kat.” At the sound of her soft inhale, I smiled again. “Come on, Kitten, did you really expect anything less from me? I love you.”
Paperback Pg 114
A soldier pulled a gun, and I lifted mine, squeezing off a round. The kickback startled me. The bullet hit the guy in the leg. Daemon lost his hold on Nancy’s form, slipping into his own. His eyes were wide as he stared at me.
“What?” I asked. “You didn’t think I’d do it?”
“Stairwell,” Archer shouted.
“Didn’t realize you shooting a gun would be so sexy.” Daemon took my free hand. “Let’s go.”
Paperback Pg 202-3
Luc turned back to Daemon and me with an impish grin that spelled no good. “I have a surprise for you guys. But first, I’d suggest putting on some clothes.” He reached in his bag, pulled out a shirt, and tossed it at Daemon. It was a plain white T-shirt. “Me and Katy look adorkable in extraterrestrial highway shirts. You would just look stupid. You can thank me later.”

I love this series and I am glad you like it as well!! It's always a good feeling when someone else loves your favorite series =D. I think this book is tied with Opal for my favorite book of the series, they both end in such huge cliff hangers. Opposition, in my opinion, wasn't the best series ender, sadly. It was still really, really good though and it made me cry because I didn't want this series to end :(
ReplyDeleteOkay, I love, love the teasers. But I didn't read your review. I'm sure it's not spoilery but as you may or may not know, I just finished Opal and am itching to read Origin. Gah! That cliffhanger. But I love Daemon and Katy. *sigh* I'm glad we're *sort of* reading the same series at the same time. :)
