Review ~ Deity by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Deity (Covenant, #3)Title: Deity
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: Covenant #3
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Published: November 6th 2012

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

What can I say, but WOW!! This was one hell of a ride! So many things happened in Deity and I was left with my jaw hitting the floor. I cannot wait to get my hands on Apollyon to see what happens to Alex now!!

Alex struggles throughout Deity as she is not sure who she can fully trust. She really sees the best in people and that trait may bring her undone. Her relationships with both Aiden and Seth become stronger, one of which is not in a good way. She is able to sit back a little and take in the people around her and I was able to see her make up her mind about a few of the people close to her. It was interesting to see her choices and her regrets too.

In Deity, I was immersed into Greek Mythology, as a God or two was introduced! With all the action going on, I knew it would happen sooner or later and I kind of had my suspicions along the way. I loved these little twists and it really opens the book up for plenty of interesting things in the future.

Jennifer L. Armentrout has certainly captured my heart with the Covenant series. She has created characters that I have grown to love and thrown them in an amazing fantasy world. I want Alex to prevail and I hope she can do it without losing herself along the way. She has so much love, courage and goodness in her, as well as the backing of some loyal people that will back her to the end! I will be grabbing Elixir next, to have my Aiden fix, before beginning Apollyon.
