Cunning. Sex. Pure nerve. Only this unholy threesome can raise him to his rightful place as a rule of Manhattan's kink kingdom.

Bouncing from bed to bed on the Upper East Side, Kingsley Edge is brilliant, beautiful and utterly debauched. No carnal act of chemical compound can relieve his self-destructive heartache—only Søren, the one person he loves without limit or regret. A man he can never have, but in whose hands Kingsley is reborn to attain even greater heights of sin.

Kingsley's plan to open the ultimate BDSM club—a dungeon playground for New York's A-list—becomes his obsession. His expertise in domination can't subdue the one man who wants to stop him. The enigmatic Reverend Fuller won't rest until King's dream is destroyed, and so the battle lines are set; it's one man's sacred mission against another's…

I have enjoyed each and every one of the books in this series, and when I realised that The King was Kingsley’s book – from his POV – I jumped onto it as soon as I could! It was a great insight into the early years of when Kingsley and Soren rekindled their relationship.

The King is focused on the time that the 8th Circle was established and just as Nora stepped into Soren’s life. Kinsley was kind of lost until Soren came back and he soon realised what he wanted to do with his life. There were a lot of complications for him, but he was able to find plenty of pleasure while on the journey.

I really loved Kingsley’s sense of humour in this one! He really has no filter and says exactly what he wants! He made me laugh at the corny things he would say, but he’s very passionate as well. There are a few difficult times for him too, and my heart ached for him; he made mistakes and someone broke his trust, which showed that Kingsley is human.

There are a lot of sizzling sex scenes with either male or female partners. I enjoyed each of them, as I could see how attentive Kingsley was to each and every lover. His interactions with Soren were always amusing, and I could see how deep their connection was, even though they have been apart for so long.

There were so many aspects of the book I enjoyed and if you have read this series you will enjoy it too. Tiffany Reisz has a way of getting you hooked to her stories and eager to know what happens next. Kingsey’s book was an incredible addition to the series; there was blackmail, exciting moments and plenty of scorching scenes that will keep your imagination turning!

  2. Yet another series which i own but have not begun...i know it's going to be sooo good though. I like that The King gives you a glimpse of Kingsley from his POV. And the intimate look at his connection to Soren probably added a lot of depth to the story overall. Great review, Naomi.
