Life is twisted. Cruel. After being ripped from the safe haven of Rafe's arms, my new kidnapper is waging a sick game. Unable to make my body do his bidding, he's resorting to psychological warfare. He'll bend my mind until I break, and when I do, that just might be my saving grace.
I'll forge through hell to get back to Rafe, body and spirit broken and bleeding, but I'm unprepared for what I find. He's done what I can't: he's erased eight years of pain and betrayal. I don't know how to bring him back to me, because bringing him back means ripping him to shreds all over again.
RAMPANT is a new adult dark romance with disturbing themes and explicit content, including sexual scenes and violence that may offend some. Intended for mature audiences. Part two of the CONDEMNED series. This is not a stand-alone read.

Both books in this series have gutted me each time I have read them. They are dark, emotional reads that will have you gasping and encouraging Alex to pull through. This instalment in the Condemned series, brought tears to my eyes as it was an extremely difficult time for Alex.
I can’t tell you what exactly has happened, because it would be a huge spoiler, but let me say that Alex’s kidnapping ordeal is far from over. She endures so much that no person should ever have to deal with; drugs and abuse are just the tip of the iceberg. She wants Rafe to save her, but he has his own issues to deal with.
Alex withdrew into herself in Rampant, but not of her own accord. She was losing some of her feistiness, and I was hoping she would get past this dark time. She also discovers who she can and cannot trust, and finds comfort in the one person she let down.
There are some dark and disturbing things in this book, but the way Gemma has written it is simply amazing. There are plenty of twists along the way, but I was constantly looking over my shoulder just like Alex. This dark tale has me so hooked that I can’t let it go and I want to know what is going on next, because the ending was a killer!
