Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Now I remember why I don’t start a JLA book before she finishes the whole series… It’s because she hooks me in and leaves me wanting more immediately!! Now I have to wait – not so patiently – to see what happens next!! She has created a fascinating new world, where the fae are heavily present, with incredible characters that are actively hunting them in New Orleans.

I really liked Ivy, she is a girl that doesn’t hold back and she often cracked me up with her attitude. Right from the beginning she finds herself in a difficult situation and has to defend herself, but in the end she doesn’t really care what the others think, only that she knows she is right. When she meets Ren, I could see that they had a connection. They both formed a bond and began to open up to one another. They worked well together and they both were able to find someone to trust in this crazy world.

Ren was amazing! He often said the right things and had not only Ivy swooning, but me too! He is overly confident and very good at his job. I loved getting to know his secrets; from both his past and his current role in the Order. He pushed Ivy, and her feelings are way more intense than anything she has dealt with before. They make an awesome team… both in and out of the bedroom!

I just loved every moment of reading this book! I loved that JLA pulled me right into the action from the beginning and introduced me to the forcible characters that I grew to like. The plot had really opened up and by the end of the book I was on the edge of my seat. Things have happened and I want to know what the hell they are all going to do… not only with Ivy and Ren, but with what has happened with the fae! I am super excited, I tell ya!
