I am a fan of Clarissa Wild's work, and had to read this Dark Romance of hers because I just loved Mr X! It's not a book for everyone... so be warned!

I love picking up a dark romance once in a while, and was super excited to get my hands on Stalker. Clarissa Wild took me into the dark and cruel world of Phoenix, an angry and violent man, hell bent on seeking revenge against his childhood friend Vanessa, the now famous actress that sent him to prison.
Phoenix and Vanessa have a complicated past. Through flash backs I was able to see what they had to deal with and the pressure that they had to endure. Vanessa’s life was not a simple one and her family was very controlling. Phoenix wanted one thing only: Vanessa. They formed a connection at a young age and were continuously drawn to one another.
The young Phoenix (Miles) really broke my heart. He had anger issues and the only person who had feelings for him was Vanessa, and she would constantly push him away. Vanessa wanted Miles badly, but constant threats kept her from go after what she wanted. Their paths were destined to always cross and now, year’s later things are still difficult between them. Even though they appear to hate one another, I could see that they secretly cared for each other and that the lust was still there. Phoenix does a lot of things that are torturous and twisted to seek his revenge, and I could see Vanessa was caving to her dark desires.
I liked how this story unfolded even if it slipped into some intense and awful moments. Both characters were deeply flawed, warped and heartless, willing to do anything to get what they want. There were a few twists thrown in to keep the reader guessing and even a small appearance of a character that I loved from another book of Clarissa’s *wink*. The book is told from both Vanessa and Phoenix’s perspectives, so I was able to feel the depth of emotion that they were both feeling. This can be a difficult read, and the subject matter is not for everyone, but I liked the direction and was surprised to see how it all wrapped up.
