With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.

In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

My previous read was a bit of a disappointment, so what better way to get out of a reading funk than by picking up a sports romance! Pucked was everything I hoped; an amusing and sizzling read, set in the world of ice hockey!

Violet was such an entertaining character! She has no filter and says exactly what she thinks. I loved her sense of humour and she often had me laughing out loud! She likes to ‘jill off’, she gives names to the male and female privates, and is a pretty laid back girl. She was attracted to Alex from the start, but honestly didn’t think that it would become anything serious, especially because of his reputation.

Alex was a great match for Violet! I could see he was taken by surprise with how forward she was, but it seemed to attract him even more. I liked that he would get a little shy, despite being the captain of his team and a very high profiled character. He was obsessed by Violets boobs, which I thought was hilarious too! He chased after Violet, wanting to pursue the connection they had. He did a lot of sweet things, but like a man, pucked it up!

Violet and Alex’s story was pretty entertaining; they get along so well and have a lot in common. Neither of them were looking for commitment, but they fell hard for one another. I liked the secondary characters too; Charlene, Buck and Darren in particular. Even Violet’s mother Skye is the queen of too much information, she was funny! But the road to happiness is not always smooth, and some goals that were set prior to Alex and Violet getting together, threaten to tear them apart. The epilogue was sweet, but a bit corny, so that’s probably the only downer for me… but it showed that Violet had no plans on changing her quirky ways!

I loved this scene... Alex sure loves the boobs! All he wants is a date!! Go girl!

“If you’re going to say no, I could ask your boobs. You’ve already said I can take them on a date, and I did get them a Victoria’s Secret gift certificate. They’d probably be happy to go out with me.”
