Wild Things (Chicagoland Vampires, #9)Title: Wild Things
Author: Chloe Neill
Series: Chicagoland Vampires #9
Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy
Expected Publication: February 4th 2014

Since Merit was turned into a vampire, and the protector of Chicago’s Cadogan House, it’s been a wild ride. She and Master vampire Ethan Sullivan have helped make Cadogan’s vampires the strongest in North America, and forged ties with paranormal folk of all breeds and creeds, living or dead…or both.

But now those alliances are about to be tested. A strange and twisted magic has ripped through the North American Central Pack, and Merit’s closest friends are caught in the crosshairs. Gabriel Keene, the Pack Apex, looks to Merit and Ethan for help. But who—or what—could possibly be powerful enough to out-magic a shifter?

Merit is about to go toe to toe, and cold steel to cold heart, to find out.
After getting to the end of this instalment in the Chicagoland Vampires series, I super excited to read the next book!! Things are definitely going to be interesting for Vampires as a whole and also for my favourite Vampire couple, Ethan and Merit!

In Wild Things, we were taken into the world of shifters as Ethan needs to put space between himself and Chicago due to the mayors political pressures. I quite enjoyed venturing out there and seeing a little more into the shifters world, although things are not calm for long. Soon we are on a hunt to track down why supernatural beings are being kidnapped. This was an enjoyable plot as we uncover the perp on this one and how close it came back to someone Merit knows. It was exciting and often dangerous.

The arrival of one of the GP representatives plays a big part in the future twist that is coming. I am really excited to see the direction of this particular plot. Gabe and Merit also have some cryptic conversations and they will be life changing circumstances for all involved. There are certainly many twists to come in this series that has me all jittery!!

There is always plenty of action, suspense and witty remarks throughout this series and the chemistry between Ethan and Merit always has my toes curling. They really are a sizzling couple and I really love reading about them. The usual crew all stepped up in this book and I just love the gang as a whole.

Chloe swept me away again as you can tell. She creates new characters that give great depth to the series as a whole. Book 10, Blood Games is due in August later this year, but I am super excited about the announcement of three more books in this series, to bring the total to 13!! With the assortment of stories she has already told, I just know there are plenty more for Merit and her gang!!

I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.

Naomi ~ Hi Chloe!! Welcome to Nomi’s Paranormal Palace today!

Chloe ~ Thanks for having me!

Naomi ~ It has been just announced that you have made a deal to produce 3 more books in the Chicagoland Vampires series. Do you think the series will stop at 13 or do you have plans for further books?

Chloe ~ My goal is to get Merit to her HEA, and book 13 is where I see that happening, so right now I expect 13 will be the last book in this particular timeline. That said, I think there are definitely more stories to tell in the CV universe.

Naomi ~ Are there any new projects in the pipeline that you may be working on?

Chloe ~ I've got a completely new proposal out there right now. I'm really excited about, but it's a little too early to discuss. I hope to have news soon!

Naomi ~ Tell us something about yourself that the general public may not know?

Chloe ~ Hmm. I'd mention by obsessive love of OUTLANDER, but I think that's public record. How about: I watch at least an hour of cartoons on Adult Swim every night. Good, old-fashioned, sarcasm.

Naomi ~ Thank you so much for stopping in today.
I cannot wait for the rest of the world to read Wild Things… Bring on Blood Games!!

Chloe ~ Thanks so much for having me!

Chloe Neill is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Chicagoland Vampires and Dark Elite series.

She was born and raised in the South, but now makes her home in the Midwest–just close enough to Cadogan House and St. Sophia’s to keep an eye on things. When not transcribing Merit’s and Lily’s adventures, she bakes, works, and scours the Internet for good recipes and great graphic design. Chloe also maintains her sanity by spending time with her boys–her favorite landscape photographer/husband and their dogs, Baxter and Scout. (Both she and the photographer understand the dogs are in charge.)
