She sent an innocent man to prison. Now, eight years later, he's returning the favor...

I’ve been obsessed with Rafe Mason since I was thirteen. The twisted part of this story is that I still want him, even now.

Now that he's holding me captive on an island.

Rafe has his reasons for doing what he's doing, and if I'm honest, I can't blame him. I’m the girl who sent him to prison for a heinous crime he didn't commit.

But now he's free and the tables have turned...now he's the one driven by obsession.

TORRENT is a new adult dark romance with disturbing themes and explicit content, including sexual scenes and violence that may offend some. Intended for mature audiences. Part one of the CONDEMNED series. This is not a stand-alone read. Approximately 43,000 words

What can I say but wow I don't think I have ever read a book that has had me conflicted like this! I even stopped reading to talk to my hubby about it. Imagine you drew a line in the sand and above is good, below is bad well some circumstances in this story hovered just above that line, because the storyline is that intense! I was shocked at what Alex has been through, and shocked all over again as to what Rafe was doing to her. In the end, I decided that I really loved this book, even with all the dark issues and I CANNOT wait for more.

Alex has been through more than what any teenage girl should, and even now her demons are still there. She is trying to make her own life, but she cannot escape her secrets. When someone from her past returns and she is in a dark situation, I actually got to see a confident, determined girl who would do anything to hold on to her secrets to protect someone she cared about. It was courageous, and would've broken a weaker girl.

Rafe has a lot of built up anger he wants to unleash after all the time has been away. He wants answers and is determined to get them. His dark side was a little scary, but I also saw a softer side to him that I liked. He really has a good heart, but his anger has turned him bitter.

I could see that these two had a connection and Alex blames her secrets and her traitorous body for her lusty feelings. She doesn't understand why he turns her on so much, especially after how he treats her.

Do not go into this book expecting happiness. The story line is pretty dark and I was shocked over and over again. The depth of sadness and pain that both characters go through is unbelievable. Gemma James has taken some dark issues and woven a truly remarkable story and left me eager to see what happens next
 That ending, holy hell!

I HAVE thrown my iPad over books, lol. I really hope you didn't damage yours! I've got you down on my ARC list now. I'll be writing Rampant pretty close to the deadline though, so I won't have it done super early, but a little early. I'm guessing around mid-October. :)
