Naomi: This is Naomi from Nomi’s Paranormal Palace, live at the Dacono BMX track with Olympic hopeful, Josh “The Jet” Abrims. Thanks for joining us, Josh.
Josh: You’re welcome.
Naomi: You were mobbed by a group of young women at last week's race. What was that all about?
Josh: Uh…I have no idea?
Naomi: Has anything like that ever happened before?
Josh: (shakes his head and grins as a blush creeps up his neck.) No. Never.
Naomi: Well, there must be a special girl that is cheering you on, right?
Josh: Yeah. In fact I just asked her to be my girlfriend last week.
Naomi: Come on, you can't leave us hanging. Who is she?
Josh: I can't tell you. Her family's in some sort of witness protection program. In fact, can you edit out that part? I don't want to give the wrong people any hints.
Naomi: This is a live broadcast.
Josh: Shi--
Naomi: Hey! I said this was live.
Josh: Sorry.
Naomi: So, what's changed in your training? You were faster than we've ever seen you....
Josh: My training program is the same. I'm just working harder. I've put on a few pounds of muscle which always helps.
Naomi: Any news about the olympic qualifications?
Josh: It's way too early for anything other than speculation. But making the U.S. Olympic team is my ultimate goal. If I win at Grands again this year, it will get me a lot closer.
Naomi: Can we expect any new tricks this season?
Josh: Nope. In fact, my coach has threatened to skin me alive if I pull another tailwhip backflip on "his" track again. I'd never do any tricks during a race, but I don't see why I can't do them during practice. It's helps me stay loose.
Naomi: What is one thing you want your fans to know about you?
Josh: I'd like everyone to know that I appreciate their support, but I'm "Taken." So hands off, ladies. My girl can be a real witch if she thinks another woman is after me.
(A girl with long, curly blonde hair wraps her arms around Josh from the back.)
Channie: That's right! He's all mine.
(Josh shoves his hand in front of the camera.)
Naomi: Hey! Easy with the equipment. (Naomi pulls Josh away from the cameraman then shoves the microphone under Channie's chin.) So, you're the one fueling 'The Jet's' engines. What's your name?
Channie: Ch--
Josh: No! Don't tell them your name! You're supposed to be in hiding! You can't be on camera!
Channie: (All the color drains from her already pale face. She ducks behind Josh.)
Naomi: I think we're done here. It's been nice talking with you Josh, and good luck. We hope to interview you again when you win at Grands. This is Naomi, live at the Dacono BMX track with Olympic hopeful, Josh “The Jet” Abrims.

Charlotte Abel was born and raised in Oklahoma where she met her soulmate, Pete. She chased him to Boulder, Colorado and finally convinced him they were meant to be together forever. They've raised three kids, two ferrets, three dogs and countless hamsters -- and are still happily married.
She's in love with "real" life and paranormal romance. When she's not reading or writing, Charlotte enjoys hiking, bicycling and primitive archery (although she's never shot at anything other than a target!)
