Office Player by Eden Summers ~ Review & Quote-tastic (@EdenSummers1)

When Eden Summers puts out a new book, I have to get it! I get so absorbed in her writing and the characters she creates.
Office Player is set in Melbourne Australia, and being so close to home I have that extra connection to it! Dean and Beth had great chemistry, but he found it hard to commit, where she found it hard to trust!

Dean doesn’t do love.
But he does do women.
Lots of women.

Until Beth piques his interest and distracts him from his A-grade player ways.

She’s sexy, smart, and sassy as hell.
She’s also an employee and entirely off limits.

Supposedly.

Beth doesn’t break rules.
But she does daydream about it.
All the damn time.

And Dean Sutherland is the biggest rule she shouldn’t break.
Luckily, she’s not that kind of girl.

Usually.

So why is she sliding her drunk ass into his car, accepting a ride home?
Why is she inviting him in for “coffee”?

Beth doesn’t break rules.
Nope. Never.
Not until now.

Author note: This is a re-release of Concealed Desire, previously published by Etopia Press in 2014.

Office Player was a light, flirty read that I devoured quickly! Dean and Beth had flirted a bit over the past few years, but their romance grew quickly after they realised they were attracted to one another, and for Dean, his father kind of gave him the kick start he needed to act.

I enjoyed seeing Dean and Beth interact, especially in the beginning as Beth had a bit more to drink than what she usually did. Dean was true to his word and followed up on not letting this opportunity slip, and boy was it hot! I liked how they pushed each other out of their comfort zones, acted impulsively and took advantage of every opportunity they had.

Like all romances, it wasn't smooth sailing; Beth and Dean fought numerous hurdles and their own insecurities got in the way at times. They both grew as people, but I just loved seeing them together. Dean may have been a player in the past, but I could see that Beth bought out the good side of him, the one that wanted more and he was willing to fight for it. Beth was a girl who had hope, but would run to protect her heart.

Once again I was blown away with another of Eden's reads. She created two characters that I adored and placed them in a city close to home. The chemistry was scorching and when they hit the sheets it was sizzling! I cannot believe that I had not read this one before, as it was preciously published under another title, because it was the perfect fun, entertaining romantic read that I love to savour!

The first quote was a turning point that I loved! The second... the chemistry was building!

“I’m going to bed. Please lock up on your way out.”
“We’re not finished.” He followed her into the kitchen. “Now you’ve made the first move, I won’t let you back down. When you’re sober and thinking straight, I’ll be here. I’m not letting you walk away again.”
She paused, a halfhearted chuckle leaving her lips before she headed for the stairs leading to the second floor and her bedroom. “Whatever you say, Dean.”
“Scoff all you like, but mark my words, I’m not backing down.”

On shaky elbows she leaned up and watched Dean’s eyes brazenly devour her. His nostrils flared, his jaw tightened. He was enraptured. By her.
His intensity empowered her, giving her the confidence to let him feast a little longer.
“Christ, you’re mesmerizing.” The huskiness of his voice sent a shiver over her skin and her heart slammed into her throat. “I could stare at you like this for hours.”
She smiled at his compliment, but self-consciousness made it impossible to keep her legs parted. She closed her thighs, obstructing his view and allowing the insecurity to return.
He shook his head, clucking his tongue in disapproval. “Keep them open.”
She whimpered at the command, completely powerless to the way he made her feel gorgeous with only a few words, a few steamy touches, and a wicked gleam in his eye.

Eden Summers is a true blue Aussie, living in regional New South Wales with her two energetic young boys and a quick witted husband.

In late 2010, Eden’s romance obsession could no longer be sated by reading alone, so she decided to give voice to the sexy men and sassy women in her mind.

Eden can’t resist alpha dominance, dark features and sarcasm in her fictional heroes and loves a strong heroine who knows when to bite her tongue but also serves retribution with a feminine smile on her face.
