The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

Oh, how I have missed Kylie Scott’s writing! I always have a good time reading her stories, and Dirty was another example of what a fantastic writer she is! She weaves in just the right amount of humour, with easy-to-like characters and builds a storyline that I found myself addicted to. Now I am left hanging because I want more from this world, now!!

Dirty is told from Lydia’s perspective, and right from the first chapter I was thrust into the disaster that her life was turning out to be. I followed Lydia as she tried to escape, not so elegantly! It was amusing to see her get as far away as she could with limited resources. While she was in hiding was when she met Vaughan, who was the bass guitarist for Down Fourth, the warm up band for Stage Dive. After the initial shock they get to know one another, the banter and flirty comments between them made me smile and their connection grew quickly.

What I loved most was that Lydia was not the usual skinny, perfect heroine… nope, this girl had curves, boobs and little skin imperfections that a lot of people and readers can relate to. Vaughan made her feel beautiful, and she began to feel more confident about her body and what she wanted to achieve for herself. She didn’t want to be walked over or used again and I loved that change in her.

I loved seeing the romance develop between Lydia and Vaughan; they were comfortable with one another and easily opened up about their feelings, their dreams and their failures. Vaughan introduced Lydia to his sister and some friends that he grew up with, and I cannot wait to see more of them. They had their own drama’s which are going to be entertaining stories! There was even a cameo from one of my favourite characters!! If you haven’t read anything from Kylie Scott before, you can start right here and become hooked like ME!!

This tease made me giggle... I'm sure this happens to all of us at some point!!

My hand somehow managed to curve over his ass as he turned away. There may have been a subtle squeeze involved. Like a girl could always be held responsible for what her fingers did. Please.
“I felt that.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Five years.

That’s how long I’ve been gone. Since I left my best friend—the girl I loved—behind.

Five seconds.

That's how long it takes to realize I am completely, utterly, screwed. Because now that I’m back, my childhood crush has turned into so much more.

Rylee has changed. We both have. And now I’m drawn to her in a completely different way. To her smile. Her touch. To reliving old memories and making new ones. To the happiness she’s always given me that I haven’t felt since I left.

But her friends are hell-bent on keeping us apart. My dad is one drink away from destroying both of our lives, and maybe I am, too. It’s only a matter of time before I have to leave again, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it. I never get a choice.

The one choice I can make? Stay away from Rylee. Because if I don’t, I’ll break her heart—and mine—all over again.

Pieces of You and Me was a great second chance at love read. I met characters that were broken in their own way, but felt whole when they were together. They grew together throughout the story despite the insecurities they both faced.

Chase is back and living with his father after being gone for five years. He has had it tough since he left, being with his mother and her new husband. He hasn’t had a chance to settle anywhere and had no friends. Being back was hard for him, he had a tight friendship with Rylee growing up and is unsure whether he wants to rekindle the friendship with her. But the more time he spends with her the harder it gets.

Rylee was heartbroken when Chase left, and never understood why they didn’t keep in contact. Having him back in her life was hard because he’s no longer the boy he once was. Her friends push her to stay away from him, but he pushes her to do things that she wouldn’t normally do.

Chase was really struggling in this book; it was sad to see how hard it was for him to deal with the unknown. He would never make plans for his future because he didn’t feel like he was going to be there long enough. His feelings for Rylee had changed from friendship to something more, with both of them being older and seeing each other as the opposite sex. I liked seeing him open up to Rylee, deciding whether or not to let her in once again.

I enjoyed how Chase and Rylee had a second chance, but Chase kept holding back. His past unfolded slowly and made me see why he was so closed off from everyone. Rylee knew what she wanted but was scared of getting her heart broken once again. I enjoyed seeing them together, but I was sad that they kept their relationship a secret.

Erin Fletcher is another new to me author and I really enjoyed Chase and Rylee’s story. They seem like two totally different people. But they slowly help one another, Rylee took some risks and Chase slowly learned to trust once again. I closed the book happy with the people they both grew into. I’ll keep an eye out for more work from this author in the future!

The dreaded conversation with your father! I had a good chuckle at this moment!!

My dad sighed, closed his eyes, and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Do we need to…you know…?”
I thought I knew where my dad was going, but I prayed I was wrong. “Do we need to…order a pizza? Prepare for the zombie apocalypse? If so, then yes. To both.”
My dad opened his eyes, but didn’t look right at me. “The Talk. Do we need to have The Talk?”
Yep, my dad had gone exactly there. “God no. Mom covered that years ago.”

Casey Coffield has a growing list of personal flaws he keeps locked away in his head:
He’s never on time.
His list of IOUs to his best friend is endless.
Money is always short.
Goals are never in reach.

Oh, and he’s decided to add college drop-out to that list, too. He doesn’t really think that last one’s such a bad thing, but his family insists it is, so it stays on the list.

On paper, he’s a zero. But in person, when he’s mixing tracks for a sea of bodies at the hottest clubs and parties, he’s downright irresistible. Just-right stubble on his chin, body of a boxer and a smirk that stimulates all the right nerves—women have never been a problem. They flock to his swagger and fall for his charm…fast.

All except for this one.

Purple hair, gray eyes, a raspy voice and sass, Murphy Sullivan is a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll. And her and Casey? They have history. He can’t remember it, but she wrote a song about him—and it’s not exactly a love song. But it is good. Damn good. And uncovering her inspiration just might be the key to solving a few of his shortcomings—not to mention open doors to his own big break in the music industry.

But sometimes dreams get messy when they collide. Sometimes life changes patterns. A past paints the wrong picture and futures get cloudy. The only question that remains is who will you choose when the dust settles—you? Or the girl of your dreams?

When her mouth closes and her hands stop, I sit still and don’t make a sound. She brings her guitar flat to her chest, hugging it while her mouth takes on a satisfied form.
I love you, Murphy Sullivan. You are better than me, and I don’t care. You will slay dragons.
I never say a word, and Murphy packs her guitar quietly before I hold the tips of her fingers and let her guide me back out through the pitch-black room. I don’t speak until I know her heart has finally quit racing, her adrenaline has run out, and her ears are ready to accept the truth.
“You are so special,” I say as she starts the car’s engine. She lets her head fall to the side against the seat, and I can tell by her expression she thinks I’m just complimenting her. I’m not—I’m warning her. “Do not—under any circumstances—give that song to anybody who doesn’t deserve it.”
Our eyes lock, and several seconds pass with my words the only thing on both of our minds.
“Okay,” she says, giving herself back to the road, taking us home.

After Mariely Hinojosa and Cabot Wheeler both break up with their significant others at the same party, Mariely sees a way to get even with both of their exes. Everyone knows that the best way to get over a breakup is a hookup—a fake hookup, that is. Three weeks, all fun, no strings, and definitely no heartbreak at the end.

But somewhere between the sweet hand-holding and melt-your-mind kisses, their fake relationship starts to feel less like an act and more like the real thing...but Mariely’s a free-spirited girl from the other side of the tracks, and Cabot’s the hot trust-fund guy from the Hills.

They’d never work for real...

Mariely and Cabot Book 1 of 3
Mariely and Cabot Book 2 coming Winter 2017

Crazy, Stupid, Fauxmance is the first book in Mariely and Cabot’s story. It took me back to high school and the people and politics that we all dealt with at some time or another. It was a sweet developing romance read, and in the end I was left wanting more!

Mariely and Cabot both broke up with their partners at a party hosted at Cabot’s house. They were both very public break up’s and they were the talk of the school. When Mariely finds a way to get past the issue by suggesting a fake hook up with Cabot, and invites him to the upcoming dance, he accepts and soon they are spending time together whenever possible.

It was cute to see the relationship develop between Mariely and Cabot; they were both nice people and had a lot in common. Being from different worlds was a bit of a hurdle, but slowly they moved past it. I liked that they took the time to get to know one another, and didn’t really care about what other’s thought as their relationship slowly grew into something more. There were a few hurdles along the way and their relationships with their ex’s were strained.

This is the first book that I’ve read by Shellee Roberts. I enjoyed getting Mariely’s perspective, from first person pov. Occasionally, I would get Cabot’s perspective, but it was from third person point of view. I think I would’ve enjoyed the story more if the whole story was from the one writing style. The book ended quite abruptly, but it’s the first book in a trilogy I believe, so I may have to pick up the next book to see what happens from here.

*** Swoon Thursday was first bought to us by YA Bound. Since they are no longer with us, and with permission from Trisha Wolfe, I have decided that those of us that love to swoon need a central meet up point.  So here it is ladies! I have a link up for everyone at the bottom of the post you can add your swoons to, and I’ll set it up every week! So tell all other swooners out there to come on over, link up so we can visit each other! ***

This was a sweet kiss.. these two trying to fight their attraction and finally giving in!

Cabot’s lips brush mine, so softly at first, I’m not sure he’s going to actually kiss me. But then he nudges open my mouth with his and I feel my resolve to stay calm melting away as I melt into Cabot. My heart skips over leaping, right into chest pounding, and my hands come up to rest on his hips. I don’t know if it’s to hold myself up, or hold him closer, or both. The kiss goes on and on and I think I could stay like this forever…
When Cabot’s lips leave mine, I open my eyes to find myself again staring into those dark, tempting pools. “Is that what you had in mind?” He sounds like he’s having a hard time catching his breath.
No, that was nothing like I had in mind, but everything I asked for just the same. “I’m pretty sure that did the trick.”

This is the escalation of the forbidden. This is the power of Enthrall.

Deemed too feisty to train. Too defiant to dominate. Mia's journey into the world of the forbidden takes its next step.

Richard Booth, her master, must make the crucial decision...let her go or give her over to the only man who can her truly subjugate her, Cameron Cole, Director of both Enthrall and the preeminent BDSM manor Chrysalis, and a connoisseur of the dark arts. Cameron's gift with shaping blossoming submissives will ensure Mia reaches her potential, a destination that may take her too far.

Mia's choices will lead her to places both within and without that she never dreamed possible.

But when her training is complete, will Cameron be able to return her to Richard, or will her transformation have bewitched him beyond repair?

After finishing Enthrall, I jumped into the next book, Enthrall Her, immediately because I needed to know how the relationship between Mia and Richard would develop, and whether or not Cameron would be someone more to Mia. I found out quickly that Mia would do anything to make Richard happy, but she was certainly no pushover!

After what happened in the previous book, Richard seemed to step back from his ways and was treating Mia delicately. Mia wanted more from Richard and to be shown more of his world, so she went to Cameron for help. Richard came to realise that he can’t stop her from being in his world and asked Cameron to teach her to submit, because he was the best person to do so. But this journey is hard on all involved, friendships were tested, feelings developed and the passion between them was off the charts.

I liked seeing Mia and Richard together; he cared deeply for Mia and would turn his world upside-down for her and forget about his desires just to keep her happy. He did everything that he thought was best for her, including signing her over to his best friend. I felt sad for Mia that he did this because in her eyes she just wanted him, but will do anything to please him. She didn’t do it willingly or quietly, which I thought was amusing! She certainly knows how to push the guys to their limits!

A majority of this book was with Mia learning to submit to Cameron. I’ve always liked him; he’s controlling, dominating and a ruthless man who can unearth Mia’s deepest secrets, but together, these two were explosive! Mia is unlike any submissive he’s had before and she invokes feelings from him that he has never felt before. She doesn’t submit easily and often defies him, but he is drawn to her regardless!

The love triangle in this book is so hard for me!! I don’t know how I would chose between both Richard and Cameron! They are both different men and love Mia unconditionally! There were some difficult moments for Mia as she faced demons from her past and some hurdles in the present that forced Cameron to make some hard decisions.

I enjoyed the narration by Abra Neville, once again. She has a voice that kept me hooked to the story and I found it hard to stop listening. I love the way Vanessa Fewings has pieced this story together, building strong relationships between the trio and creating a world that I cannot get enough of. I am looking forward to the third book, I tell you… just a shame I will read it instead of listening to it!!

This was a sweet moment for Cameron... realising he was able to fall for someone.

We lay in a tangled mess of disheveled bed sheets, this dampness beneath the purest evidence of us. Both of us spent.
Our breathing only now slowed.
Lying with my head on his chest, lulled by the sound of his heartbeat, sure and steady, I drifted.
“Before you,” he whispered, “I never questioned.”

She’s always played it safe…

College junior Lucy Washington abides by one rule—avoid risk at all costs. She’s cautious in every aspect of her life, from her health, to her mock trial team, to the boring guys she dates. When a brash, gorgeous jock walks into the campus coffeeshop and turns his flirt on, Lucy is stunned by the force of attraction. For the first time ever, she’s willing to step out of her comfort zone, but can she really trust the guy who’s determined to sweep her off her feet?

He’s always played around…

Entering his last year of college eligibility, linebacker Matthew "Matty" Iverson has the team captaincy in his sights. And it’s his for the taking, if he can convince his quarterback Ace Anderson to give up the starting position. Luckily, Matty already has an edge—the hottie he’s lusting over just happens to be Ace’s childhood best friend. Getting Lucy on his side and in his bed? Hell yeah. Matty is more than confident he can have both, but when he falls hard for Lucy, it’s time for a new game plan: convince the woman of his dreams that she’s not sleeping with the enemy.

I don’t know what has taken me so long to pick up a Jen Frederick book, but now I know I have been missing out! I loved Jockblocked and now I need to read more stories from this world! I’ll have to go back and read Sacked while I impatiently wait for more books to be published…

As the book is told in alternating perspectives, I liked getting to know both Lucy and Matty. Lucy was a bit of a planner. She has her reasons to be so cautious, but at times she appeared to be too careful. Spending time around Matty helped her to open up and let lose a little and it was awesome to see this change in her.

Matty was a bit of a ladies’ man, but settled down once he met Lucy. I could see he had some deeper connection with her and even though she tried her best to keep him away, the attraction became stronger. I liked seeing his perspectives change in life and with his football career, he needed to learn a little more responsibility.

I’m a sports romance fan, so being in the world of Gridiron was fun; seeing the team, the issues they were dealing with and what they had to do to bring the team together, all of it had me hooked!

I have become an instant fan of Jen Frederick’s. She created a world I could see myself in and the characters felt real and are the type of people I’d see myself friends with. All the characters grew throughout the book, some for the better and others tested friendships. I am keen to get more from this world, I can’t seem to get enough!

Hehe... I loved the banter between Lucy and Matt, even from their first meeting!

“I don’t have any direct experience with the devil, but I’d try to make a bargain that does not include eternal hell. I’m not made for that kind of punishment.”
His lips quirk up. “Yeah, you do seem...sweet.”
“The devil doesn’t like sweet things?” The words pop out before my brain catches up with my mouth.
Matthew’s lips go from half-mast to full-out grin. “He might. But I think if he had the choice, he’d pick hot over sweet.” Sultry blue eyes rake over me. “Don’t worry, you’ve got the hot part covered, too.”
