Right by Jana Aston ~ Review (@JanaAston)

Right, Jana Aston's second novel, was released this week. I have been excited to read more of Jana's work after reading her debut novel, Wrong, last year. I've really enjoyed her writing style, you need to pick her work up for yourself!

My childhood was perfect.
I’ve led a charmed life, and I’m not going to blow it now
by picking the wrong guy.

I’ve got my sights set on my brother’s best friend.
He’s known my family for years. He’s reliable and kind and handsome.

Sure, he’s been avoiding me since I was six.
I’m a bit aggressive for him, maybe.

But he’s the one… right?

After reading Jana Aston's debut novel I knew I had to read more of her work. I enjoy comedy romances and when I picked up Right I was in the mood for something fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Everly was a quirky character with a plan, and it was funny to see it all go up in flames once she met Sawyer!

Getting to know Everly through a few important times in her early life showed me how determined she was to have Finn in her life. A lot of her decisions were Finn-based and she was adamant that he was the one. Some things she did were full on stalkerish and made me laugh at the extremes she went to. She was not ready for Sawyer to come in and change everything that she had worked for, even though they had instant chemistry.

I loved how controlling Sawyer was! Everly was used to chasing the guy and wasn't sure how to deal with Sawyer. He did everything he could to sweep her off her feet, and made it clear that he wanted her. When they finally got together, it was hot and those two couldn't get enough of one another. Everly never held back and you never knew what she was going to do or say next and Sawyer loved that about her.

This was a fantastic follow up to Jana's first book, and honestly, I think it is my favourite so far! I loved the banter between the characters and their chemistry was amazing, considering how quickly they got together. They faced some hard times, but were stronger in the end. I loved seeing Sophie and Luke again too, and hope to get Chloe's story next!

Right was a playful and entertaining read, with two dominating characters, one not looking for love and the other looking in the wrong place, but in the end were right together.

Jana Aston works a really boring day job. Really. Boring. In her spare time she loves to read sexy romance novels, especially if they involve an alpha CEO. Wrong is her first novel.

The finale to Bear and Thia's epic love story.

After reading Lawless, I took a little time to pick up Soulless, because I was trying to stretch out my anticipation just a little bit! In the end I couldn’t wait any longer and devoured in quickly! It had everything I hoped; intense passion, freakish twists, and jaw dropping moments. By the time I finished the book I was cursing T.M. Frazier… because that ending – dayum – I want more from this world now!!

Lawless was one helluva ride and it continued into Soulless, but with Bear and Thia being apart. They both are doing everything they can to move forward, but Thia is desperate to hear from Bear. When they are finally reunited, it wasn’t under the circumstances they thought it would be but are soon thriving between the sheets once again. However, Chop still needs to be dealt with and Bear is determined to bring the Beach Bastards down.

I just love Bear and Thia together; they’ve had a strong connection since they first met and now they are back together it continues to strengthen. Bear is very protective of Thia and hates that he can’t be with her at all times and does his best to keep her safe. There are a few twists that were revealed that had made me gasp, and then think I knew it! I could see there was way more to the story!

We were introduced to a new character, Rage, who exploded onto the scene and left me wanting to know more about her. She is a fierce girl who is great at her job and just the person Thia needed while she was going through a hard time. I loved seeing King and Rae too, they are very loyal to Bear and will do anything in his time of need.

T.M. Frazier has a way of pulling a reader into her twisted and dark world that makes you want to stay. I love the suspense, the turmoil and emotion she weaves through the story and I cannot get enough. I still need to read Abby and Jake’s books… but as I write this review, I see that All the Rage will be out in May… happy birthday to me!!

* Sigh * Bear sure knows how to pour his heart out when he needs to

“Home?” he asked, pounding on his chest with his fist. “This,” he said. “This is your home.” He lifted my hands by my wrists and pressed my open palms to his chest. “This is your home.”
I felt a tear spill out of the corner of my eye and roll down my cheek before I could stop it.
“I’m your home baby, just like you’re mine, and if you want brutal honesty like you say you do, then I’ll tell you right now that even if you wanted to leave, I wouldn’t let you. You’re mine now, so unfortunately for you, it’s not an option,” Bear growled.

Waiting On Wednesday # 187 – Stuck-Up Suit / Dirty

I am DYING for both of these books! I love all these authors... cannot get enough!
Stuck-Up Suit
Title: Stuck-Up Suit
Author: Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Expected Publication: April 11th 2016

From the New York Times Bestselling authors of Cocky Bastard, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

It started out like any other morning on the train.
Until I became mesmerized by the guy sitting across the aisle.
He was barking at someone on his phone like he ruled the world.
Who did the stuck-up suit think he was…God?
Actually, he looked like a God. That was about it.
When his stop came, he got up suddenly and left. So suddenly, he dropped his phone on the way out.
I might have picked it up.
I might have gone through all of his photos and called some of the numbers.
I might have held onto the mystery man’s phone for days—until I finally conjured up the courage to return it.
When I traipsed my ass across town to his fancy company, he refused to see me.
So, I left the phone on the empty desk outside the arrogant jerk’s office.
I might have also left behind a dirty picture on it first though.
I didn’t expect him to text back.
I didn’t expect our exchanges to be hot as hell.
I didn’t expect to fall for him—all before we even met.
The two of us couldn’t have been any more different.
Yet, you know what they say about opposites.
When we finally came face to face, we found out opposites sometimes do more than attract—we consumed each other.
Nothing could have prepared me for the ride he took me on. And I certainly wasn’t prepared for where I’d wind up when the ride was over.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

Mia Lauren is a single, twenty-one-year old working in a West Hollywood art store who dreams of one day becoming a fashion designer. When an unexpected offer arises to work at Enthrall, L.A.'s premier fetish club for the wealthy, Mia accepts. It's a salary beyond her wildest imagination.

Mia becomes the secretary to the club's assistant director, blond and broody Richard Booth. Richard is not only one of L.A.'s most beautiful and wealthiest men, he is also the club's senior dominant. Mia is both drawn and terrified when he reveals flashes of his white-hot passion, threatening an unbound pleasure like no other. She knows her attraction may be her undoing, but the spellbinding feelings render her powerless to resist his advances.

What Mia cannot know is that Enthrall's dashing director, thirty-year-old Cameron Cole, who is also the club's psychiatrist, has lured Mia to save his best friend and patient Richard from his obsession with thrill seeking. Cameron masterfully sets up sexy scenarios to ensure the collision of Richard and Mia, hoping that love will save him.

However, despite Cameron's noble intentions, he also finds himself enticed by Mia's haunting innocence. Passion and pleasure stir, forming a dangerous love triangle.

This is the world of the forbidden. This is the embrace of Enthrall.

I won a signed paperback of Enthrall Him, the third book in the Enthrall Sessions series last year, so when the first books were on sale I grabbed them… then decided to purchase the audio version to go with them, and I am so glad I did!! I really enjoyed the way that the narrator, Abra Neville, told Mia’s story. She has a way of keeping the listener hooked to the story and I found it really hard to stop the book because I just wanted to know what was going to happen to Mia!

The story was addictive too! Mia is twenty one, but she was so innocent, naïve and somehow was still a virgin. She’s a good girl and looks out for those who are close to her, especially her ill stepmother, Lauren. She takes a chance on a job at Enthrall, and somehow manages to land it. It wasn’t easy for her, because I could see how much she didn’t understand about the world she was now in, but she was a curious girl, willing to try new things and open minded to anything new.

I loved meeting everyone that she was working with too! All the girls were quick to take her in, and looked out for her. But it was the guys that got under her skin: Richard and Cameron! Richard is her boss: blonde, hot and dominating. He tries to push Mia away but Mia fights back and refuses to go away without a fight. Then there’s Cameron: dark hair, confident and dangerous. He can see past the walls that people put up to analyse what you are hiding. He pushes Mia and Richard together, but I could see him struggling with his feelings also.

I really did enjoy listening to this book, despite Mia being so out of her comfortzone. It wouldn’t be a job that she would’ve considered previously, but I could see that she would fit into this world, eventually. The writing kept me immersed in the storyline and I liked how that even though Mia had no experience in this world, she wasn’t going to run away. I am eager to continue this series, to see how these relationships continue to develop.

This scene actually cracked me up a little! It continues into the second tease...

I found Richard in his bachelor den. He sat on a chocolate colored couch, his legs out in front of him with his bare feet resting on the coffee table. He still wore his dress shirt from last night as well as boxer shorts, though not much else. He directed an X-box controller at a large flat screen TV. Coming round to face him, I was alarmed to see him wearing a scuba mask. The snorkel hung by his right ear. Winston sat beside him, panting.

“Why are you wearing that?” I said.
“They’re prescription. Can’t find my glasses.” Richard peered down at Winston. “Go find my glasses, Winston. Fetch.” They stared at each other. Winston panted away, his tail wagging. Richard looked back at me. “See what I’m up against?”

Brave Enough by M. Leighton ~ Review & Quote-tastic (@mleightonbooks)

The final book in M. Leighton's Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series is out today! You all need to meet Tag... he's such a sexy, flirty character and I loved seeing him fall for Weatherly!

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes another dark, sexy story…

Is she brave enough to give her heart to a man she only thought she knew?

He was the most charismatic man I’d ever met. Strong, tough, brave. Bold as hell. Something told me Tag Barton could have anything—anyone—he wanted...and he wanted me. It didn’t matter that he was wrong for me in practically every way possible. It didn’t matter that my father would hate it.

I couldn’t resist him. Even if I’d known who he really was and what he was really capable of.

When he suggested we pretend to be engaged, I thought he was the answer to all my problems. He wasn’t. And, in his wake, he left nothing but scorched earth and me, just another casualty of my father’s war.

Can I believe him now when he tells me he loves me? Or is he nothing more than a beautiful, breathtaking lie?

I’m a fan of the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series and I seem to fall in love each time I meet one of Leighton’s new leading men. So it’s not surprising that I fell hard and fast for Tag, just like Weatherly did in Brave Enough!

Right from the first time Tag and Weatherly met, they flirted with one another and the sexual tension was off the charts! I loved seeing the witty banter between them, and for Weatherly she was able to let down her carefully constructed walls and relax around Tag. She was facing an ultimatum from her father and was unsure how to get what she wanted from life instead of caving to his demands. Tag’s solution may not be ideal to begin with, but she fell quickly to his charm and started to see him for more than just a hook up.

Weatherly may have been raised as a privileged child, but there was more to her than that. She ran a charity that she was passionate about and she was a genuinely nice girl. She was comfortable around Tag and quickly let him into her heart, even though she knew that he had the power to break her.

Tag… I loved that man! He could hook any woman with his sweet talk and dirty words. He only had eyes for Weatherly and was determined to get her under him. He did a lot of charming things… no wonder we fell so hard for him! But after a while I could see that he was also hiding things, but I didn’t realise what was happening until all details were revealed.

Brave Enough was a fast paced read, about two characters who weren’t looking for love, but found it anyway. Their relationship may have been fake to begin with but there was no denying that they both had deep feelings for one another. I loved how this book had a different feel to it than the others in the series; it was a bit lighter and wrapped up the series perfectly. This is a must read for any M. Leighton fan!!

Oh Tag!! I loved how he poured his heart out here!!

“I need you more than I need to breathe. More than I need to see or hear or walk. I’d give up everything I am for one more day with you. Just. One. More. Day.”

Born into blood, I was a mafia princess. Raised in hiding, I was a Californian sweetheart.

The day my father sold my thirteen year old body to pay off a five year old debt was the day my mother stole me in the dead of night. She protected me as she was supposed to.

My father may have been the king, but my mother was the queen.

The mafia blood was hers.

That was ten years ago. Now… the devil was on the loose.

Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso was my father’s right hand man and the boy I’d loved since I could tie my own shoelaces. He was always the most ruthless and the most deadly of all the children.

He’d thought I was dead until the day his assignment was given: Kill Adriana and Alexandria Romano. Kill the princess, and definitely kill the queen.

What he didn’t know was that the queen was dead, and the princess had taken her throne.

Blood didn’t lie. It smeared, distorted, stained. But it didn’t lie.

My father was going to learn the hard way that the empire he’d stolen belonged to me.

And so did Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso.

“Staying, are you? Figure it's easier to kill me in my sleep?”
Once again, he rubbed his hand across his face. He said nothing.
“Trying to work out whose life is worth more, right? Mine is probably worth a lifetime of comfort for you. Kill me and everyone's happy, right? My pathetic excuse for a father gets to keep his empire and you're taken care of for life.”
He looked at me, and his expression was a little tortured. I was being harsh. I knew that. But I needed to be. It was easier to provoke him and be angry with him than give in to the horrible ache that had settled in my heart.
“Adriana...” Weak. The word was weak.
I wanted to ignore the indecision on his face, but I couldn't.
He was considering it.
He really was.
I scoffed quietly at him and grabbed the gun from the coffee table. His mask and gloves fell to the floor, but he made no move to pick them up. The safety was on the gun, and I held it out to him. “Here. Take it. I don't care, Hunter. I don't have much of a life here in hiding anyway.”
He didn't even look at the gun. His silvery gaze never left mine. I wished he would look away, because in that gaze, I saw the Hunter I knew. The boy who once ripped his favorite shirt to stem the bleeding when I fell and cut my leg, then proceeded to carry me home. The boy who offered to pee on my foot when I got stung by a jellyfish in Mexico on vacation when I was seven.
The boy I loved before I knew what love even was.
“You're weak, Hunter,” I whispered. Slowly, I turned the gun back to me and touched the barrel to my temple the way he did earlier. His jaw clenched when my thumb edged toward the safety, and when my finger moved to hook around the trigger, he moved.
He was like a lightning bolt. He came at me like a flash, snatched the gun from my hand, and dropped it on the sofa. It bounced but stayed on the seat, and then he turned on me with blazing eyes. “Don't,” he ground out, his arms tensing and looking even bigger. “Don't ever fucking put that to your head again.”
“Why? I was saving you the job.”
The words had barely left my lips when he pounced on me. It was deadly, the way his hands clasped my face and his mouth descended on mine. I staggered back into the wall, gasping at the ferocity of his movement. Shock paralyzed me as he kissed me harshly. His tongue ran along the seam of my mouth, and as I fisted the sides of his shirt, I bit his lower lip.
A low growl left his throat, but he didn't relent. He just kissed me harder. He kissed me until I was fucking spinning and could barely string two thoughts together. Until my whole body was alight with his touch and responding to his every movement.
He tasted like whiskey. The strong, rich taste that lingered on his lips was heady and only added to the intoxicating way he touched me.
And then... It hit me. He was touching me. Kissing me.
Twenty minutes ago, he could have killed me.
