Adam is through with love.

He unravels blaming himself for what happened with Katie.

His final moments with her echo through his nightmares.

She owns him body and soul.

To dull the pain, Adam invites a string of women into his bed. Fueled by alcohol and desperation, his meaningless hook-ups provide little comfort. When he closes his eyes, it's Katie he sees.

The only one who helps to ease his guilt somewhat is Jada. But as his new ambulance partner, Adam considers her off limits. He doesn't want to get seriously involved with anyone, much less her. Yet he can't stop fantasizing about the feel of her caramel skin against his.

Despite his intentions, Adam's bond with Jada deepens as they respond to a series of emotional calls. Their mutual attraction becomes undeniable. But how can he give his heart to Jada when it still belongs to Katie?
Come What May is a wonderful second book in the series!! Once again I was thrown into the life of a paramedic, actually two paramedics this time, Adam who we met in book 1 and Jada, who is Adam’s new partner. I was immersed into this fantastic world where both characters need to overcome events in the pasts to move on successfully. It was intense, frustrating at times and overall an entertaining read!

I was expecting Adam to be the same nice guy that he was in Heartbeat, but he isn’t!! The turn of events in the end of the first book changed him completely. He has nightmares about the girl that he couldn’t save. His mind is not 100% on the job, which you don’t want to happen as a paramedic. He uses women to satisfy himself before tossing them aside and drinks a lot to become numb because the nightmares overtake his sleep. He is the total opposite to what he was in the first book.

I liked Jada; she is smart and straight to the point. Once she meets Adam she is not afraid to call him out on the crap that he spins. She is even able to get him to open up a little and that is why they have such a good working relationship. But spending so much time together does put a sexual strain on them as well. They are able to speak about most things, but when it comes to their attraction they avoid it at all costs!! Most of the time I was hoping they would hurry up and get it on just so they would get past the hurdle!

As always, Faith throws in twists throughout the story and a massive one at the end of the book that left me with my jaw hitting the floor!! I found the pace in this book was better than the first book and both POV’s were well done. The events were more evenly spread out and I found myself absorbed into the plot. I like the paramedic aspect of this book, and there are a number of intense moments on the job, as well as off. The characters are believable and have their own secrets that have damaged them in some way. They appear to be a well suited couple, but find it hard to take that final step. I am excited to see which way things will go now in I Am Yours, after that unexpected ending!!

I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.

  1. Ah I love it when a heroine is like that and really calls the hero on all his bull. Haven't read too many about paramedics. I'm liking that. Thanks for the heads up Naomi!
