I have 15 minutes to save my mother’s life….
15 minutes is all the Rewind Agency gives you in the past, but for Lara Crane it’s enough time to race through the city, find her mother, and stop her from being killed in a mugging that happened over ten years ago.
But that’s not how it happened. The story she’s been told all her life is a lie and when Lara takes a bullet meant for her mother, her future changes forever.
The love of her life acts like a stranger. Her simple life is replaced with a giant house, glamorous clothes and a new boyfriend.
Except someone knows her secret. And he will try to stop her at every turn as she races against the clock to unravel a dangerous conspiracy.
15 Minutes is an edgy high octane YA thriller that can be described as Back to the Future meets Inception where the people Lara trusts change in an instant. She is in a timeline she doesn't understand, and is about to make one fatal mistake as she faces an enemy so familiar, he’s family.
After reading the blurb for this book I was keen to get into it and boy, was it one action packed ride. Right from the beginning we are thrown into the action and mystery that kept me flicking the pages to see what would happen next. It was fun, life changing and full of suspense!!
Lara’s mother died 10 years ago and her life has been pretty simple since. She lives with her father and has discovered she can do things that normal people are unable to do when sent back to the past. With this knowledge and knowing she has only 15 minutes in the past each time she returns she makes a plan to save her mother. What she didn’t expect was how different her world would be when she returned and how it would affect her.
I really enjoyed this story and how well Lara adapted to her new life. Things are not as easy as she expected her new life to be and when her current memories start to mesh with her parallel life, a whole new mystery is unravelled. Lara needs to keep one step ahead of whoever is after her so that she can make things right again. She is not sure who she can trust and is constantly looking over her shoulder. Lara is a very smart character and will do anything in her power to set things straight.
I think that Jill has done a wonderful job with this story. Right from the beginning I was glued to the pages and I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The book is told from Lara’s POV and when she gets a new memory, we did as well, so it made it easier to put the clues together. I felt that the ending was a bit rushed as things kept jumping, but overall I liked how it played out. I’m looking forward to more in this series and to travel back in time again!!
I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.
Jill loves to blend horror, comedy, the supernatural, and love, through her novels. A fan of genre blending, her work strives to cross boundaries, but most of all strives to entertain. She loves soft cuddly cats, warm blankets, and paranormal romances. Jill resides in Massachusetts, is constantly renovating her home that she shares with her husband, young daughter, and two skittish cats.
