Accidentally wed to a screaming hot stranger.

I inherited a freaking husband.
Grandpa's will was a shocker: huge fortune, gorgeous ranch, and the best horse ever.
The fine print? Marrying Mr. Grump-alicious.
The man who's supposed to protect me from...what, exactly?
That's what I hope to find out if Drake Larkin ever talks.

I know what I'm in for the first time his glance tears me open.
A broody enigma who's large and in charge.
A mute who curls my toes when he barks a few words.
A silly, shameful, is-this-real-life crush I can't afford.

Did I mention our pretend marriage-rodeo lasts six damn months?
Long enough to teach my heart cartwheels.
Time enough to seal this madness with a kiss.
Insane enough for secrets to slip - and sting.

Grandpa's last wishes scare me. So do Drake's real motives.
But it's my beast of a "husband" who makes ridiculous seem right.
Have I found my knight?
Does love have a prayer when life throws us a dragon?

I read the blurb for Accidental Knight and was intrigued immediately. How would one get accidentally married to someone... I just needed to find out. Throw in the will of a quirky grandfather, a cheeky horse and a hot ex-army sniper, and you know I was hooked!

Bella returned to her Grandfathers hometown after he passed and I could see that she was a lost soul. The relationship between her and her parents was strained and she didn't really have anyone that she was close to. After the reading of the will, she was shocked on what had happened and was looking forward to heading back to the ranch that she loved staying at when she was growing up. What she didn't expect was the hot old army buddy of her grandfather at the house.

I really enjoyed watching the connection between Bella and Drake grow. Even though they got off to a rocky start I could see that they only wanted the best for each other and the town. There were other factors entwined throughout the story and I could feel the suspense building in the story. I didn't particularly like Bella's parents to begin with, but they began to change and grow on me throughout the read.

Accidental Knight was a pretty fun read with lots of entertaining moments, and a slow developing build between the two main characters Bella and Drake. The little messages from Bella's grandfather made my heart swell, as I could see the love he had for Bella and Drake. I loved the connection that Bella had with Edison the horse, and how clever he was. The suspense in the story added another element to the story, and I liked there was another reason for Drake's passion. Overall, it was a really good read, and I am glad that I tried another read by Nicole Snow.
I have a few teasers for you today... I just loved these two and the chemistry between them!

“I hope you liked what you saw,” she whispers. “As much as I liked...well, everything.”
I smile and kiss the top of her head. “Don’t know, darlin’. I might have to see it a few more times before I’ll know for sure.”

Kindle Page 247

“Oh, wow,” she whimpers. It’s barely there, but my ears hear it like starving wolves sensing prey.
I smile down at her. “What’s the matter, gorgeous? Don’t tell me you’ve never seen a grown man before?”
Her little teeth pull on her lip. Her big green eyes waver. There’s something she’s not saying, and when I realize what it is, my cock fucking hurts with raging need.
“Shit, woman. Don’t tell me you’ve never done this before?” I pinch her chin softly between two fingers, making her look at me, while my free hand goes to my belt and begins to tug.
“Not with anyone like you, Drake. Not with...not with anyone.”

Kindle Page 248

“Holy smokes. I wish you’d told me it was the best thing ever,” she says, running her fingers over my muscles.
“Can’t say that ’cause it’s not, darlin’.” I wait for her to look at me, surprised. “Best ever’s coming. Round one’s just a warmup.”
“Round one?” She laughs, her eyes going adorably jittery in her head. “Oh, my, yes.”
I smile, pulling her into another kiss. So maybe I’ve created a sex-crazed little monster, and damn if I don’t love it.

Love Under Quarantine by Kylie Scott & Audrey Carlan ~ Review & Teaser (@KylieScottbooks, @AudreyCarlan)

This was the first project by new writing duo, Kylie Scott & Audrey Carlan, and I must admit it as a pretty solid start to their writing partnership.

While the world is ravaged by a global pandemic, hotshot NFL running back Evan Sparks is locked in his own personal hell. With a career-ending scandal on his back, Evan hides out in his best friend’s empty San Francisco home, the full city shutdown locking him in a lonely twenty-story apartment in the sky.

Romance writer Sadie Walsh is having the worst case of writer’s block ever…until the incredible, muscular stranger staying next door gets her muse going strong. The pair of loners, never expecting to find a friend in all the madness, meet each day out on their balconies like a modern-day Romeo and Juliet.

Each new day brings unique challenges for the pair as they navigate the unknown and find solace together. They quickly figure out that as long as they have one another, they can handle anything.

Even falling in love under quarantine.

Considering what the world is currently going through this read is relatable to all of us. I really enjoyed getting to know both Sadie and Evan, and felling their emotions through these pages. They were frustrated, but had one another to share that with and the connection between them grew steadily over the few weeks since they met one another.

I liked how forward Sadie was and often didn't have a filter. She said exactly what she wanted, which often lead to amusing situations. She was very serious about the Covid situation and was a stickler for rules, which was why it took a long time for her and Evan to get together.

Evan was hiding out as a scandal was sending his career into a nose dive. He hadn't had a serious relationship before so wasn't expecting to build such a strong connection with the hottie next door. Although they were from different kinds of worlds, they had a lot in common and complemented one another perfectly.

I enjoyed the way the tackled all the issues throughout the story: Covid 19, the scandal, the distance between them and the ever building chemistry. Kylie Scott & Audrey Carlan did a fantastic job at creating the characters and putting them in a world we are all stuck in. I really hope we get to see more of their work together in the future.
This had a slow build and everything was leading to this moment when they could finally touch one another...

“You are the most perfect creature,” he says. “I feel honored to be holding you close, feeling your breath against my neck. I don’t know how to explain it…”
“Meant to be.”

“I never even believed in the insta-love stories. This is so completely unexpected,” I whisper.
“But good.”
“Amazingly so. Kiss me.” I nudge his nose with mine, wanting—needing—to have him make the first move.
“My pleasure. My Sadie.” He murmurs against my lips until his fingers sift into my hair and grip the back of my head while he takes my mouth in a searing kiss.

Top Secret by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy ~ Review & Teaser (@SarinaBowen, @ElleKennedy)

I don't really read a lot of MM reads, however I love both Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy's writing and I decided that I needed to give this one a go! It was a lot of fun, with saucy moments that had me hooked!

Bestselling authors Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy return with their first Male / Male romance in 3 years.

LobsterShorts, 21. Jock. Secretly a science geek. Hot AF.
LobsterShorts: So. Here goes. For her birthday, my girlfriend wants…a threesome.

SinnerThree: Then you’ve come to the right hookup app.

LobsterShorts: Have you done this sort of thing before? With another guy?

SinnerThree: All the time. I’m an equal opportunity player. You?

LobsterShorts: [crickets!]

SinnerThree, 21. Finance major. Secretly a male dancer. Hot AF.
SinnerThree: Well, I’m down if you are. My life is kind of a mess right now. School, work, family stress. Oh, and I live next door to the most annoying dude in the world. I need the distraction. Are you sure you want this?

LobsterShorts: I might want it a little more than I’m willing to admit.

SinnerThree: Hey, nothing wrong with pushing your boundaries...

LobsterShorts: Tell that to my control-freak father. Anyway. What if this threesome is awkward?

SinnerThree: Then it’s awkward. It’s not like we’ll ever have to see each other again. Right? Just promise you won’t fall in love with me.

LobsterShorts: Now wouldn’t that be life-changing...

I decided it was time to pick up a book by this duo, because I was in a bit of a reading funk, and I am so glad that I did! I was pulled into this amazing world, addicted to the passion and chemistry that was oozing off the pages!

Keaton and his girlfriend had been together for a long time, and she asked him for a threesome for her birthday. I liked that he was willing to do anything for her and the more he pursued it, the more open he was to it and was willing to give it a go.

The more I learned about Luke, the more I loved him! He was working hard to be in college, being employed as a male stripper was the easiest and quickest way to make money. His family however, made things difficult for him often, but he tried hard not to bring him down. It wasn't always easy living in a fraternity house, but he had plans to make everything easier.

It was interesting seeing Keaton and Luke interact in the beginning. They weren't exactly friends, and didn't really get along. However, I loved watching them interact through the app and seeing that connection grow. When Keaton and Luke got physical, it was so hot and I had hope these two would get past their insecurities and difficulties to find happiness together.
These two were so hot together! I loved the banter that they had with one another, and the sweetness occasionally too.

“Punish you?” My voice cracks on the words, because it’s late and…
Fine, I like that idea a whole lot. Sue me. I close his bedroom door and lock it.
When I turn around, he’s grinning at me, like he just won some kind of bet with himself.
“Smug is not a good look on you,” I say, moving to stand over him. “Take off my towel.”
“It is too a good look on me.” He props himself up on an elbow in a big hurry. Then he reaches out and gives my towel a quick tug. “Aw, look who wants my body,” he says as my semi bobs into view.

How to Save a Life by Emma Scott ~ Review & Teaser (@EmmaS_writes)

Josephine Clark is trapped. A harrowing past haunts her every time she looks in the mirror, and she can’t escape the violence of her everyday life. More and more, her thoughts turn to Evan Salinger, the boy she knew in high school. The boy they called a mental case. A loner. A freak. The boy who seemed to know things no one could know. For a few short weeks, Jo had found perfect solace in Evan’s company, sneaking every night to meet him at the local pool. In the cool of the water and the warmth of Evan’s arms around her, Jo had tasted something close to happiness.

Cruel circumstances tore them apart, and four years later, the sweet memory of their time together is dissolving under the punishing reality of Jo’s life now. Evan seems like a fading dream…until he reappears at the moment she needs him most. Guided by Evan’s strange intuition, they flee her small Louisiana town, on the run from the police, and Jo begins to suspect there is something more to his sudden return than he admits.

Over twelve days across America’s heartland, deep secrets come to light, buried pasts are unearthed, and the line between dreams and reality is blurred as Evan and Jo fight to hold on to their soul-deep love, and discover that there is more than one way to save a life.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from How to Save a Life, but I certainly wasn’t prepared for the roller coaster ride that I went on. I really enjoyed meeting Jo and Evan, and understanding how difficult their pasts were. It was a very emotional and difficult story, and I was all on board to journey with them.

What Jo had been through broke my heart, she had been through one of the most horrific things as a child and had lost so much. She didn’t have a very stable life, but she was safe. It was interesting, watching her try to start over in a new town and taking charge of her life. The more she learned about Evan, the more she was drawn to him.

Evan’s life was not easy either, but he had a stable home. However, he had had an issue a few years prior that left him as a loner at school. He had difficult relationships with his adopted brothers, and really didn’t connect with anyone until Jo came to town.

It was sweet watching the relationship between Jo and Evan grow... until some massive twists were thrown in and their lives were torn apart. The story was then thrown into the future, and on a road trip that had a Thelma and Louise type of feel. I felt so many emotions; happiness, dread, relief and love. I didn’t know where the story was going, but I hoped it would have a happy ending.

I must admit, this story isn’t for everyone. There is a bit of a psychic feel to it. I enjoyed the way Emma Scott told the story and how she revealed each aspect to the reader. I was left shattered, I shed a tear, but my heart ached for these two to find happiness.
Jo and Evan took a long time to show affection to one another, and this was one of the sweetest moments before their lives were torn apart again.

His hand rose up out of the water and I watched it move to my face. I didn’t stop him. His fingertips touched my cheek and his thumb traced the line of my scar from under my eye down to my jaw.
“You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”
It was too much. No one looked at me like this. No one told me I was beautiful. And no boy had ever moved to kiss me like Evan did. His face slowly coming toward mine, his eyes gentle, the warmth of his attention like a roaring fire over me.
He covered my mouth with his and inhaled a little while I exhaled. A little sigh that turned to a soft moan as his mouth opened and mine opened with him, letting him in. I let go. The shields guarding my heart lowered. Evan wasn’t taking, he was giving. His kiss gave me those impossible things I’d desperately wanted all my life: tenderness, consideration, reverence.

His Royal Highness by R.S. Grey ~ Review & Teaser (@AuthorRSGrey)

I'm not sure what I expected form this read, but unfortunatley I was a little let down by it. I couldn't really connect to the characters and felt that their story was a little forced. It had asome good elements, but unfortunately, this one wasn't for me.

I’ve spent eight years wishing I’d fall out of love with Derek Knightley. Blowing out birthday candles, chasing after shooting stars, making it rain spare change into mall fountains—every time it’s the same wish: forget about Derek.

But the day he walks back into my life, I realize there are two things time has yet to soften: my feelings for him and his chiseled jawline.

It’s infuriating that my heart still races when he walks into a room. I refuse to fall prey to old unrequited love, so I decide the less I’m around him, the better. Avoidance is key.

Unfortunately, Derek isn’t going to make it easy. As a teenager, I would have crawled on my hands and knees to attract his attention. Now I can’t seem to escape it.

I’m not sure why he’s bothering. He’s not just out of my league—he’s out of my tax bracket. As the sole heir to the Knightley Company, he’s as close to American royalty as you can get. As for me, I’m just a part-time princess at Knightley’s flagship magical theme park.

I spend my days playing make-believe, but Derek has no use for fairytales. His unwavering confidence makes it clear he thinks I’ll surrender in the end.

He’s just biding his time.
Making me sweat.

His Royal Highness always gets what he wants.
And he wants me.

This is the second book I have read of R.S. Grey's and I was really drawn to the blurb of His Royal Highness, and was excited to give it a whirl. It wasn't exactly what I expected, so I think I was a little let down by it in the end.

Whitney was working at a theme park, which she seemed to think was her dream job. She was doing her own thing after living in the shadow of her sister for most of her life. The first time that Whitney and Derek met, I could see that he was genuinely interested in mentoring her, however, she was still young and he was still building his career.

Jump to the future, and they have both grown into strong adults. Whitney was trying desperately to squash whatever childhood feelings that he had for Evan, while Evan was looking at the beautiful woman that she had grown into and was attracted to her despite her feistiness.

I enjoyed watching Whitney and Evan work together and seeing the chemistry build between them. It saddened me the impact that Whitney's parents had on her life and her self esteem, but she had a good relationship with Derek's Grandfather. Whitney and Evan had amusing banter between them but for me though, it wasn't a book I loved. I felt a few situations were drawn out, so I would skim parts of the read. I also thought that Whitney wasn't as grown up as she was supposed to be and was still heavily tied to her past.
I enjoyed this sweet moment between Whitney and Evan.

Then, ever so gently, Derek reaches over and wraps a hand around my waist, tugging me against him and dropping a kiss to my hair. Tears spring back to my eyes, but they don’t blur the grin spreading across Cal’s face. “Well then, we’ll all go,” he says, sounding extremely pleased with himself.

Strike One - My mother named me Theodore after her favorite chipmunk.

Not cool, Mom.

I‘ve spent most of my life answering to Teddy, because I couldn’t make Theo work.

Except for here. College. The place where all bets are off, and I’ve managed to redeem myself.
There’s only one problem, my new roommate, Troy, is football royalty and looks like he stepped off the set of an Abercrombie shoot.

Doesn’t matter, I cook a mean breakfast for his panty parade, and we get along well.
And anyway, this year I got the girl. And she’s perfect.

That’s right. Theodore Houseman, former band geek, now marching band rock star has finally landed the girl of his dreams.

Everything is perfect.

That is, until Troy takes a good look at her.

I’m not going down without a fight. As a matter of fact, I’m not going down at all. As glorious as these days may be for my all-star roommate, Laney is my end game.

I may not know much about play strategy, but I’ve been the good guy my whole life. I’ve been listening and I know exactly what women want. Framed in a picture standing next to me, Troy may seem like Mr. Perfect, but he’s underestimating the guy on the right.

Theo and Laney's first meeting was pretty entertaining, as they both went through awkward moments and made each other feel better. They clicked from that first moment, and each time they met afterwards I could see their friendship building. They had so much fun together, not that much in common, but were so good together.

Theo was a really sweet guy, who kept to himself a lot. He was burned by a girl, so was reluctant to move on and put himself in that position again. I liked that he was hesitant and it was nice to see him relax and open up to Laney.

Laney was the polar opposite to Theo, she was loud and spoke her mind. She was an action person and held down multiple jobs. She had a strong relationship with her mother, and grieved the loss of her grandmother. I could see that Theo was getting under her skin, despite not being the usual type of guy she would fall for.

I really wanted to love this book, but there were a few moments that annoyed me. What happened before Theo and Laney met was not cool, and there seemed to be a moment where they had a drink and then drove immediately. What the blurb portrays isn't quite how the book went down either. Otherwise, it was a pretty solid read, with a slow growing romance, and a lot of fun with the characters opening up to one another.
I loved Theo's possessive moment here!

… something inside me snaps and I make a beeline for the maid of honor.
Laney sees me just before I reach her, and I grab her hand, leading her toward the exit.
“Oh my God, my dress is tucked in my panties, isn’t it? I thought I felt too much air down there,” she says, fumbling behind to keep up with me.
Unable to manage a word, I drag her through the endless crowd of buzzing Texans.
“Theo, where are we going, what’s wrong?”
Outside the reception, in the hall, I pin her against the wall, grip her chin, and hear her breath catch just before I crush my mouth to hers. It’s a bold statement, and I’m making it in front of the drunker half of the wedding with zero fucks to give. As far as I’m concerned, the minute our lips touch nothing can touch us.
