Nash by Jay Crownover ~ Review & Quote-tastic

Nash is my favourite in this series so far... this book bought tears to my eyes! I love how these tough, tattooed guys can bring the emotions out of me!!
Nash and Saint had a good relationship and were able to relax nicely with one another... That's what i was aiming for in today's Quote.

Will their past determine their future?

Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down... and now he’s trying to do it again.

Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.

When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

This has been my favourite book in the Marked Men series so far. Nash was a heartbreaking read for me as both characters have a lot of issues to work through, just to find some sort of closure and happiness.

Nash has spent his life trying to be accepted and loved by his mother. The only person he counted on was his Uncle Phil, who shaped him into the man he is today. When his life takes a dramatic turn, he becomes lost and unsure of how to move forward. This was heartbreaking in itself, learning these details and trying to find yourself again. I wanted to just hug Nash and help him move through these issues. He is a gentle person and this threw him way off track… Until Saint storms in and basically tells him to pull his head out of his ass!! Lol

Saint and Nash have history… they went to high school together. Her memories of Nash began as a little crush, but turned into a teenage girl’s heartbreak. She has carried these feelings around for a long time and still found it hard to be around Nash. Saint is a very quiet person and I could see she that she’s not big on confrontation, but is passionate about her job and getting Nash back on track. Her family life is difficult too, and the relationship between her parents gives her little hope for herself in the future.

I liked seeing the relationship grow between these two; Nash wore his heart on his sleeve, but Saint was very hesitant and reserved about portraying her feelings because she didn’t want her heart broken again. They work together though some difficult times and I wasn’t sure if they had the strength to fight for one another.

Jay Crownover did a remarkable job with Nash and Saint’s story, tying together some difficult elements that brought tears to my eyes in the end. Both characters are beautiful people who deserved people who loved them. I want my very own Nash!! *swoons* Anyway, I’m off to read Rowdy’s book now!

I squealed in surprise as the big body next to mine suddenly pitched forward and went down in a spectacular splay of strong arms and legs. Nash managed to turn before he hit the ice and I ended up hitting his chest with a thump that knocked the wind out of the both of us. He wrapped his arms around my waist and shook with silent laughter.
“Okay, Saint, you win. This is ridiculous. I can’t stay pissed off when my ass is broken.”
I rubbed my cold nose along the edge of his jaw.
“Well, I am a nurse. When we get home I can take care of all your boo- boos in the best way possible.”
I heard him sigh.
“Can you do it naked?”

Being native Coloradan is a source of pride if you ask Jay. She loves all the things her home has to offer, and that is why she set her books in this familiar place. Writing about what she knows is why her stories feature plenty of rock and roll and body modification.

Jay has been a bartender since she was in college, spending over forty hours a week watching interactions between men and women. This 9 to 5 job offered great insights into relationships - how they start and how they evolve in a social setting.

This cutting-edge author likes to write New Adult novels because she remembers being in her early twenties and thinking she had it all figured out, only to be proven wrong time and time again. When she looks back, she see's that those years defined who she is today, and, good or bad, those decisions ultimately set her current path.

  10. I loved Nash! I cried in his story and was destroyed about Uncle Phil. Saint was such a great character. Even though she was reserved and pulled back from Nash at times, I loved how she was always there for him, and just what he needed! I can't wait to see what you think about Rowdy's book! His story is my favorite :) Awesome Review Naomi!
