Stalk Me (The Keatyn Chronicles, #1)
Title: Stalk Me
Author: Jillian Dodd
Series: The Keatyn Chronicles #1
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance
Published: September 1st 2012

Gossip Girl meets Hollywood in this steamy new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd.

Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She's popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most-coveted lunch table.

She's just not sure she wants it anymore.

Because, really, things aren't all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It's exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And, deep down, she isn't sure if she has any true friends.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.
A hot, older man flirts with her and tells her they should make a movie together.
And she's crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.
But little does she know, there's someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn't happen.
Stalk Me is a fun YA read that delves into the life of the daughter of a world famous actress. We are taken into the life of teenage dramas: how to maintain your popular status, who to hang out with and how to be a b*tch!! There is an element of danger about it though, as there is an unknown stalker that has changed his target.

Keatyn has always wanted a normal life; she has been in high school for the past year and thinks she has everything that she ever wanted. She soon discovers that it is not all it was cracked up to be. She has had a crush on a different boy for some time and is not sure that her friends are true friends. After some advice from a guy she decides that it is time to take her life into her own hands.

I thought that Keatyn was a little naïve at times because she has grown up in the shadows of her mother’s spotlight and I just wanted to shake her when she let people in too easily, but she is only 16 and I suppose she was just trying to make new friends. She has a lot of interest in her from guys, especially after she changes the course of her life. However, when the threats from the stalker become all too real, Keatyn makes the biggest decision of her life.

Ok, so lets talk about the guys… Sanders is a nice guy and I picked it early on what was up with him and I was glad things turned out the way they did between him and Keatyn. Brooklyn is a cute surfer and highly intelligent, but is a little too relaxed for Keatyns world. He seems like a great guy and likes her for her carefree ways but didn’t grasp the whole package. I thought he was a little selfish too. Cush is the cute guy from school, who constantly flirts with Keatyn. He was great, until he was backed into a corner and took his frustration out on Keatyn, so that knocked him down a notch… but I was still rooting for him!! Now this is just a taste of the boys we meet in this book, there are so many more that are in Keatyns life, but you’ll have to read it to find out why there are so many!!

I liked being back in the teenage mind once again, reliving all those moments that are so important at the time, but when you look back at them now… not so much! Jillian Dodd has done a remarkable job at tying the story all together and the mystery/danger aspect just kept building. This book ended a bit too abruptly, in my opinion, and I have plenty of questions that are still unanswered. It will be interesting to see how Keatyn handles everything in the next book.

  4. I read Dodd's That Boy, but I haven't gotten to this one yet. For some reason this one just didn't appeal to me as much. I'll get to it eventually though.
