Book Description

When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies.So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn't wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can't cry for someone who has no soul.

The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad's ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend's loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld--a consequence they can't possibly understand.

Kaylee can't let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk...

My Review

My Soul to Save starts 6 weeks after the end of first book, My Soul to Take, with Kaylee and Nash at a concert, courtesy of Tod who got them the tickets and they are having the time of their lives. But not all things can run according to plan and a death occurs at the concert that is different from the ones that Kaylee has seen before. After this death the gang are on a mission to try and help Tod’s ex-girlfriend from suffering the same fate.

Kaylee has developed a lot since discovering who she really is and still bears a lot of guilt since there were so many souls lost in the first book, so she had no hesitations in talking on this new task to help Tod. She is very compassionate and is determined to follow things through to the very end. She doesn't back out even if her very own life is on the line. I still really like her because of the type of person she is and has such a strong, pure heart. She puts everyone else's well being before her own and I think that is a great trait in a person.

Nash is as supportive as ever, even if he doesn't want to help Tod in this situation. There are a lot of dangers that can put them at risk and he knows and understands more about it than what Kaylee does. I'm not sure if I like him being such a yes man.... I think he needs to fight a bit more, as he understands this world better. He seems to go along with what Kaylee says a bit too easily, just to keep her happy and to be close to her all the time. They seem to have an intense relationship however and the swoon moments can easily turn into sizzling scenes if they are not careful.

We see a bit more of Tod in this one, knowing who he truly is and I think that is another reason why Nash can't back out of this latest adventure. Although, because he is a reaper we don't know if he is disclosing all the information that he should or whether he is being selfish for his own gain. I really do like Tod though. I don't think he is bad as he makes himself out to be, and the more I see him the more I like him, but I always have a soft spot for the bad boys!! One character we didn't see as much of in this book is Emma, but that is only because they want to spare her from the dangers of Bean Sidhe business and she understands that.

It was another fantastic book in the series as we learn a little more about each of the characters. Again Rachel has done an amazing job at telling Kaylee’s story. We delve more into the Neverworld in this book and the dangers that can occur if you go there. Kaylee is learning how to harness her powers with the help of Harmony, Nash’s mum, but Kaylee also is very good at manipulating her to find out more information for herself. I liked how we saw more into this new and unusual world and the weird dangers that are there. There are still some great swoon moments and the plot is still addictive. I'm looking forward to see what happens next in My Soul to Keep……
