There is need. And then there is Fate. Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's other half is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

I cannot believe how much I am loving this series! Two books in and I am addicted! The Covenant Series has been a helluva ride so far, and I just want more. It is full of mystery, action and some moments that will have you swooning!
In Pure, I felt that Alex grew a lot as she has been through so much and continued to face hard times. A few times in this book I had tears streaming down my face as Alex’s world was shattered and I was glad that she was able to find support in Seth. She is conflicted about the two guys in her life, both are willing to sacrifice themselves for her.
I learned more about Seth in Pure, because he spends a lot of time with Alex and I really think that he is an amazing person behind his bad boy and cocky personality. I could see how much he cares for Alex and will do anything to protect her. He helps her through some difficult times and would always bring a smile to my face with his amusing personality and the banter he shares with Alex.
Aiden is always there too. You can see he is struggling internally and messes with Alex’s feelings. I really like him, but I wish he would stand firm in his decisions, because they are affecting Alex so much.
Pure has a steady stream of action, from beginning to end. I love being swept away in a great storyline like that, and being reluctant to put the book down… even to sleep! There are a few confrontations, fight scenes and even some fun times thrown in. But after that massive incident at the end of the book, I was left wanting more! I will have to grab Deity, and soon!
