Most people dream about getting out of Sharon, Nebraska, but after three years away, Lauren Barrett is coming home. She has her reasons—missing her family, losing her college scholarship. But then there's the reason Lauren can't admit to anyone: Rob Conrad, her best friend's older brother.
Football prowess and jaw-dropping good looks made Rob a star in high school. Out in the real world, his job and his relationships are going nowhere. He's the guy who women love and leave, not the one who makes them think of forever—until Lauren comes back to town, bringing old feelings and new dreams with her.
Because the only thing more important than figuring out where you truly belong is finding the person you were meant to be with.

Sigh… This was such a sweet read and I can’t believe how much it touched my heart. Rob and Lauren are two people who lack confidence (one who also has anxiety issues) that affect their day to day lives. Watching them come together and find hope in one another was just beautiful.
Lauren was Nadia’s best friend in the first book, I Want It That Way, and I was able to find out the complete reason for her move home. Once she is in Sharon though, I could see her relax and become comfortable in her home town. I kind of had the gist that she had feelings for Rob, Nadia’s brother, so it was sweet to see them build a friendship that developed into something more.
Rob, oh, he is such a sweetie and I really wanted to hug him!! He is the nicest guy and will go out of his way for the people he cares about. But years of listening to people degrade him (including his family), he has begun to believe them… until Lauren. Having her around you can see him come out of his shell; he begins to express his feelings and realises that he can actually be someone. He is a person with dreams too and it was great to see him work with Lauren to try and make them true.
I loved seeing Lauren and Rob together. They see past the facades that they each have created, right into the hearts of one another. They both become more confident and you can see they are becoming better people. But it is not always simple for them and sacrifices are made that shatter them both, but that time apart is great for them. Ann Aguire pulled me into this world emotionally and I loved Lauren and Rob. Although I liked the first book, As Long As You Love Me is definitely my favourite in the series so far.
