Waiting On Wednesday # 80 – Sea of Shadows and Red at Night

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine where I have the chance to spotlight an upcoming release that I’m eagerly anticipating.

Sea of Shadows
Sea of Shadows (Age of Legends, #1)Author: Kelley Armstrong
Series: Age of Legends #1
Genre: YA Fantasy
Expected Publication: April 8th 2014

In the Forest of the Dead, where the empire’s worst criminals are exiled, twin sisters Moria and Ashyn are charged with a dangerous task. For they are the Keeper and the Seeker, and each year they must quiet the enraged souls of the damned.

Only this year, the souls will not be quieted.

Ambushed and separated by an ancient evil, the sisters’ journey to find each other sends them far from the only home they’ve ever known. Accompanied by a stubborn imperial guard and a dashing condemned thief, the girls cross a once-empty wasteland, now filled with reawakened monsters of legend, as they travel to warn the emperor. But a terrible secret awaits them at court—one that will alter the balance of their world forever.

Red at Night
Red at NightAuthor: Katie McGarry
Series: Harlequin More Than Words
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance
Expected Publication: April 1st 2014 by Harlequin Special Releases

In Red at Night, Stella and Jonah are total opposites. She's the girl with purple hair from the wrong part of town. He's a high school senior who hangs with the cool crowd. Until a car accident leaves him haunted by guilt, and Jonah starts spending time at Stella's favorite refuge…the local cemetery.

Stella knows she should keep her distance—after all, she spent her girlhood being bullied by Jonah's friends. Once he's sorted out his tangled emotions, Jonah won't have time for her anymore. Too bad she's already fallen for him…

  32. Both of these sound kick ass! Sea of Shadows had me at "Forest of the Dead." How freaky does that sound? Makes me want to read it for sure, and I have yet to read any books by Kelley Armstrong. I have also yet to read a book by Katie McGarry! *covers face with hands* I love purple hair, and this story sounds like it's going to be a great one. Girl from the wrong side of the tracks and a popular guy? I see a lot of fireworks in the future with that one! Both are on my TBR. :)

  33. Thanks, Naomi. Really. Thanks. You've now added even more books to Mt TBR! *ha* :) I love both these authors so much! And I didn't even know they had these books coming out. Seriously. Thanks!
