He's mine, and I'm his. Our love is all-consuming, powerful,
imperfect, and real...
In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington "Riptide" Tate as vital as the air he breathes... and now he can't live without her.
Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman's dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, she is torn away from his side. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

It has been a while since I read Real, the first book in this series, so I thought it was about time I picked up Mine and dive back into the world of Underground fighting. Mine was a big turning point in Brooke and Remy’s relationship as they deal with a whole new set of challenges. It was intense, conflicting at times and a riveting read.
In the beginning, I was a bit annoyed with Brooke; she was going out of her way to confront Remy and acted a bit childish. I just wanted to yell at her and tell her to snap out of it, but things started to click and I was thinking… hmmm, I wonder?? From the blurb you see that they spend time apart and they both struggled with being separated, but it is understandable why they were. I think it strengthens their relationship a bit more and it was electrifying when they reunited!! There is no denying that Remy’s eyes are only for Brooke and he shows her that in EVERY possible way.
What I LOVED about this book is the world building every time we go to a fight. Katy Evans sure knows how to build the scene: with the crowd and groupies all yelling out Remy’s name, the announcer bringing in the contenders and building the atmosphere so high that I was chanting along with the crowd!! I felt like I was sitting alongside Brooke and watching this fighting God strut into the ring and performing just for me… sigh! Pow, pow, pow!! So exciting!
Remy’s mood swings are another big part of this story and how all the people around him deal with it. It is an eye opener for anyone who has or hasn’t dealt with depression. Remy’s high’s are so incredibly high that he would be bouncing around and ready to go or taking Brooke numerous times, but when he is low, he is completely cut off from the world. When he is in these fazes Brooke learns what life for him was like when she left him in Real and she soon regrets leaving him like that.
As a whole, I really did enjoy Mine. There were plenty of fight scenes, saucy moments and the characters grew into better people. Their whole lives have shifted for the better and I was happy with how the book tied up. We go through the whole fighting season sharing all their happy, sad and difficult times. I’m excited to see what Remy (book 3) has in store next!!
I won this book from the fabulous guys at The Racy Hearts (Simon & Schuster Australia)
