The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee's no ordinary high-school junior. She's a banshee--she screams when someone dies. But the next scream might be for Kaylee.

Yeah--it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend's needy ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck...before he discovers they aren't quite human, either.

But Kaylee's borrowed lifeline is nearing its end. And those who care about her will do anything to save her life.

Anything.

This series just gets better and better after each book!! I started reading If I Die and I didn’t want to stop until the final page. It is crammed with emotional turmoil, plenty of swoons and an action packed plot that kept me glued to the book.

Kaylee and her detective skills are out in full force in this book as she tries to unravel the mystery behind Mr Beck the new math teacher. She makes this her priority as she wants to keep herself occupied since she was just dealt some bad news herself. She is terrified to return to some places and to see some people from her past, but again, she is willing to do it all to save the people she loves the most. I got to see another side to Kaylee; she is more carefree and lives a little more on the edge. She has some secrets that she tries to keep hidden but soon they are out there for Emma, her best friend to see, and they spend some girly time together.

The relationship with Nash is still fragile and you can see that there are still cracks in it. He doesn’t have a lot of faith in Kaylee and she tries to deny that there are problems between them, but soon she has to assess their relationship to see what she really wants. Sabine is as annoying as ever and still stirs the pot for Kaylee, but things are going to change for them all, so they form a kind of truce between them. And Tod … geez I love Tod!! He will do anything for Kaylee and spends a bit of time with her throughout this book, getting her in and out of places so she can complete her mission, being there for her when she needs help and is the support person that she needs.

I enjoyed how this storyline played out. It all must tie up in a specific timeframe and Kaylee is hell bent on seeing it through to the end. Kaylee has a few hiccups along the way but her courage never wavers. Some relationships become strained, where others tend to strengthen and I was excited in some of the turn of events. I was a bit teary by the end of the book and the ending was so thrilling that I want to dive right into the next book!! Rachel is such an amazing author and I love how this series is going. I am always sucked into her world and I feel that I know her characters personally. I am going to try and draw the remaining books out, but it is getting extremely difficult not to immerse myself in until the very end!

She shares her workspace with two black cats (Kaci and Nyx) and her # 1 fan. Rachel is older than she looks-seriously-and younger than she feels, but remains convinced that for every day she spends writing, one more day will be added to her lifespan.
