Review ~ Beautiful Stranger by Christina Lauren

Title: Beautiful Stranger
Author: Christina Lauren
Series: Beautiful #2
Genre: Adult Romance
Published: April 16th 2013

A charming British Playboy. A girl determined to finally live. And a secret liaison revealed in all too vivid color. Book two in the NYT Bestselling series.

Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon's moved to New York City and is looking for excitement without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night's fun. But the manner--and speed--with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger.

The whole city knows Max Stella loves women, not that he's ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it's not until Sara--and the wild photos she lets him take of her--that he starts wondering if there's someone for him outside of the bedroom.

Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.

I really enjoyed this story. To me it’s like a feel good read, where you take two strangers and push them to the edge of their comfort zones. Sara we met in Beautiful Bastard and is Chloe’s best friend. She has just moved to NY after a bad break up and is starting her life over. Sara was broken after her previous relationship and finds it hard to trust men and has no intention on jumping into another relationship. Her plans change when she meets a guy in a club while out with the girls and ends up doing naughty things to him in a semi-secluded area.

Max is a very successful English businessman, and is totally fascinated by the mysterious girl he met at the club. She does things to him that no other woman has done to him before. He is constantly thinking of her and has no way of contacting her. When he spots her again he makes it his mission to seek her out. Once they meet they strike up an interesting bargain. Max appears like a tough kind of guy but the more we get to know him the more his sweet side comes out. He is very much a vulnerable person and I didn't realise how much until he spilled it all. He is afraid of being broken by a girl and Sara just may be the one to shatter him.

The chemistry these two characters have is scorching. They like to push the limits and their fetish is doing things in places where they may get caught. It is a bit of a rush for them but they aren't too over the top and it makes it more believable. They are well known people in America and do have their reputations to uphold. I liked how their affiliation quickly turned from just booty calls to a relationship, without them even realising. Their love making scenes are sweltering and I was totally blown away each and every time. Also, having characters that we met from the first book playing small roles in this book was entertaining too and seeing that Chloe and Bennetts relationship is still going strong is exciting.

I found it very hard to put this book down. It is an amazing sequel to BB and I have enjoyed both books immensely. I like how in both books the characters push the boundaries, and do things they would normally not do. They find an inner strength when they are together. It was fascinating and had me intrigued, but I cannot imagine doing the same thing myself! I am definitely excited to continue the Beautiful journey!!

  8. You could read it as a standalone, there is crossover of the characters from the first book, but I think you would be fine!!
