Three months touring Europe.
Romantic. Dazzling. Unforgettable.
The trip of a lifetime.

But some lifetimes are shorter...

We couldn’t have known it would work out this way.
No one could. No one could’ve guessed that something so beautiful could be so tragic.

But it is tragic.

Yet so, so beautiful.

That’s what sacrifice is—beauty and tragedy.
It’s pain and suffering for something or someone you love.

And this is the ultimate sacrifice.
One stunning act of true love.

This is our story.
Our true love story.

The Empty Jar was such a beautiful and heartbreaking journey of true love and the sacrifices made for your soul mate. This story, it made my chest ache – and the tears – I honestly sobbed my way through this magnificent story. It was such a personal story for the author, but reading the words was simply mind blowing and I could feel what the characters were going through!

Lena and Nate have been together for nineteen years, and were about to embark on the trip of a lifetime. But not all was as it appeared and soon the details as to why they are going away were revealed. There are other twists thrown in to make Lena and Nate’s story more difficult, but their love for one another strengthened along the way.

I loved meeting these characters, watching them struggle and fall deeper in love. Nate was such a supporting and compassionate husband, and Lena was selfless and strong willed. Together they were an unstoppable team and you could see why they were soul mates.

If you haven’t read a book by M. Leighton before, you NEED to pick this one up and read it for yourself. I want everyone to read this brilliant and gut wrenching book, which will mess with your emotions and have the tears streaming down your face… grab your tissues and get comfy with this one!

This was such a beautiful, but heartbreaking moment. It's definitely true love and every woman should feel this way!

“You’ve always made me feel beautiful, even when I didn’t think I was, but now…” I swallow at the growing tightness in my throat. “For months now, all I see when I look in the mirror is the monster living inside me, but not you. You don’t see it. You still see me. Just me. You look at me the way you always have. Like I’m perfect. Like I’m still perfect.”
Cupping my face, Nate leans his forehead against mine. “You are still perfect. No one will ever be so perfect in my eyes. Ever. I’ll want you this much, this way, always. Always.”
