Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine where I have the chance to spotlight an upcoming release that I’m eagerly anticipating.
After the End
She’s searching for answers to her past. They’re hunting her to save their future.
World War III has left the world ravaged by nuclear radiation. A lucky few escaped to the Alaskan wilderness. They've survived for the last thirty years by living off the land, being one with nature, and hiding from whoever else might still be out there.
At least, this is what Juneau has been told her entire life.
When Juneau returns from a hunting trip to discover that everyone in her clan has vanished, she sets off to find them. Leaving the boundaries of their land for the very first time, she learns something horrifying: There never was a war. Cities were never destroyed. The world is intact. Everything was a lie.
Now Juneau is adrift in a modern-day world she never knew existed. But while she's trying to find a way to rescue her friends and family, someone else is looking for her. Someone who knows the extraordinary truth about the secrets of her past.
Midnight Crossroad
FIRST IN A NEW TRILOGY
From Charlaine Harris, the bestselling author who created Sookie Stackhouse and her world of Bon Temps, Louisiana, comes a darker locale—populated by more strangers than friends. But then, that’s how the locals prefer it
Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and Davy Road. It’s a pretty standard dried-up western town.
There’s a pawnshop (someone lives in the basement and is seen only at night). There’s a diner (people who are just passing through tend not to linger). And there’s new resident Manfred Bernardo, who thinks he’s found the perfect place to work in private (and who has secrets of his own).
Stop at the one traffic light in town, and everything looks normal. Stay awhile, and learn the truth...

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday!!
I am really interested to see how Midnight Crossroad is going to do. I think I got so worn down on Sookie, I can't imagine Charlaine writing anything else. The title also reminds me of the crossroad demons on Supernatural! LOL
ReplyDeleteI thought After the End was already out. Oh yeah, I saw Midnight Crossroads on Netgalley but it's not available in the US. Booo.
ReplyDeleteAfter the End is amazing :) I read it a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Hope you enjoy it too!

After the End sounds awesome. I am digging this new series Midnight Crossroads- may have to add it to my list.
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser
I have a copy of After the End, haven't read it though. :( They both do sound really good though. Nice picks!

I have an ARC of After the End that I hope to start reading in the next few days. I've seen mixed reviews, so I'm hoping I enjoy it more than some others have.

Ooh, both these sounds great, Naomi! I'm glad Charlaine Harris is doing another UF.
ReplyDeleteAfter the End! I am really excited about that! I haven't seen/heard of Midnight Crossroad, but it does look interesting :D Lovely WoW picks my friend!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read anything by Charlaine Harris, but this one sounds intriguing. As for After The End, I didn't know Amy Plum was plotting a YA Dystopian :-O Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye on it!
ReplyDeleteI feel bad that I haven't read any of Amy Plum's other series - despite having Die for Me on my nook shelf as long as I can remember! This new series of Plum's sounds really super intriguing - even more than her other one! Definitely adding it to my wish list! This is the first I've heard of it :O
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to something new from her. I was a little disappointed by the end of Sookie myself!
ReplyDeleteI don't think so... oh well... I saw it there too and last time I tried to snavel something up I was rejected anyway *wink*
ReplyDeleteI hope I do too! Thanks for telling me what you thought!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope to enjoy it too! Both of them really!
