You’d think that being Chief Seer for the supernatural world would come with a few perks. But as Cassie Palmer has learned, being Pythia doesn’t mean you don’t have to do things the hard way. That’s why she finds herself on a rescue mission skipping through time—even though she doesn't entirely understand her dimension-bending new power.

Rescuing her friend John Pritkin should have been an in and out kind of deal, but with the near-immortal mage’s soul lost in time, Cassie has to hunt for it through the ages—with Pritkin’s demon dad in tow. He’s the only one who can reverse Pritkin’s curse, but with the guardians of the time-line dead set on stopping anyone from mucking about, Cassie will have to figure out how to get her friend back without ruffling too many feathers—or causing a world-ending paradox or two...

It has been a long two years, but Reap the Wind has finally arrived! If you haven’t read the previous books, you could pick this one up and understand what is going on as Karen gives you enough back-story when needed throughout the book. I’ve wanted this book for so long and now that I’m finished I’m happy… but I’ve been left frustrated once again.

Reap the Wind begins right after the end of Tempt the Stars, and we jump back in time as Cassie tries to break the hex on Pritkin’s soul. It isn’t easy for her and Rosier to get the job done, and it doesn’t help that the sparks fly between herself and the younger Pritkin. Cassie is constantly in danger and is thrust back into her normal time where she has to deal with her court and the building tension between her and Jonas.

There are a lot of problems in the present that Cassie has to deal with, but she needs to go back so far in time that she never thought it was possible. I liked this aspect of the story and seeing the pre-war-mage Pritkin! He was cheeky and trouble followed him everywhere! I liked seeing the battle between them and the Fey, and how they made allies with the troll fey. It was exciting and action packed and I could see this would be very helpful in the future.

Cassie continues to have trouble with the acolytes. They continue to stir up trouble and are determined to bring back a god, which will, in turn, ensure a war. She is struggling with the Vampires at times too, just when she think everything is ok with them. She has a strong connection with Mircea, but she feels more like a pawn to him too. Cassie feels that everyone is pushing her to do things instead of working together to prevent the war on the horizon.

To me I felt that this book was like an in-between read. There was plenty of action and a lot of details that will help in the future, but I got no real closure. Don’t get me wrong, I love Cassie, she’s a quick witted girl, who makes mistakes, she's always in danger and never has any peace, but I wanted her to get through this adventure before moving onto the next one. It felt like there were too many things happening and I’m going to have to wait until the next book to see if it all works out. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the ride, the action and swoon moments, but I was hoping we'd be done with one thread this time. It’s going to be a long wait until April, 2016!

Here is a moment that's starting to heat up! I enjoyed this one, and this is who I want her to be with! * Fingers Crossed *

My hands were finding their way under his shirt, my fingers were ghosting over his ribs and nipples, and my palms were enjoying the feel of springy chest hair under my hands. And then he pushed me against the wall and kissed me again.

Book One

Passion and lust ignite. Dark and light battle. This explosive first installment of the Broken Bonds series sets the exhilarating pace for a cat and mouse game where no one knows who’s really pulling the strings.

Criminal profiler Sadie Bonds knows blood. Her affair with the gruesome, dark world of killers began long before she started applying her analytical skills to investigate gory crime scenes. She gets inside the killers’ heads, breaks them down, relates to them on an arcane level. She prefers it this way—because it’s safer to ally herself with the villain than the victim. At least, that’s how she’s coped ever since she was abducted and tortured as a teen.

She will never be a victim again.

Now, she’s honed her skills in order to bring justice to these ritualistic offenders. Working alongside her colleagues, armed with sharp wit and a SIG, Sadie always catches her sadist. Until one ruthless serial killer gets inside Sadie’s head, turning the tables. He knows her secrets. Her obsessions. The darkest, most deviant part of her soul.

When she meets Colton Reed, dangerous stakes are raised as he threatens to unravel her control and reveal her darkest fantasies. The sexy-as-sin bondage rigger at an exclusive BDSM club pushes her boundaries, forcing her to acknowledge that side of herself she fears. Plunged into a realm of torture and suffering, pain and pleasure, Sadie balances on the razor-sharp edge of two intersecting worlds threatening to swallow her.

Book Two

The UNSUB has made contact.

After a rapid string of grisly murders shakes the usually peaceful city of Arlington, Virginia, the sadistic killings of young women lull into a deceptive calm. Agent Sadie Bonds knows the terror isn’t over; serial killers don’t stop until caught.

And this sadist has targeted the profiler, revealing pieces of her dark past and weaving her secrets into each gruesome crime scene. Is the killer someone from Sadie’s past, her present? Or is he part of a fated future she brought on herself? The answer lies within the riddle of the copycat killings, ones mimicked after the infamous Blood Countess.

As tension brews in the department awaiting the UNSUB’s next move, Sadie’s more than on edge—her deviant cravings for the possible perpetrator have ratcheted out of control. She needs the feel of Colton’s ropes binding her, sheltering her from stark reality.

Only Colton Reed has his own twisted secrets that threaten to unravel not only Sadie as they come to light, but the UNSUB’s carefully constructed web now entangling both the profiler and her sexy bondage rigger.

Book Three

Who is the UNSUB?

For Agent Sadie Bonds, finding the answer to that question means the difference between life and death for someone close to her. The UNSUB’s latest abduction reaches right into the heart of the ACPD, forcing every member of the department to search within their ranks for the sadistic perpetrator.

Suspicion not only clouds the task force; it slithers into Sadie and Colton’s bond, challenging their love. Discovering the truth means facing their past together. Sadie’s connection to Colton has quieted her inner demons—but is she strong enough to confront the real monster?

All players take their places as the stage is set for the final scene. With the UNSUB manipulating the game, even Sadie and Colton fall victim, spiraling deep into the darkness that threatens not only their lives, but their trust. As Sadie navigates a tortuous maze, Colton will do whatever is takes to protect her.

The truth will set you free. Only for Sadie, her truth will test the very fabric of her reality. She must silence the threat, or risk losing everything and everyone she loves.

I haven't posted my review for Book Two on the blog, so I thought that I would share it today. I hope it is enough to entice you to grab this series and read it!

I’ve been on edge waiting for the sequel in the Broken Bonds series, and now that I’ve read it, it certainly didn’t disappoint! Trisha Wolfe has continued to blow me away with her thrilling but sexy story and I just can’t get enough of this world or the characters!

Book Two begins a week after the conclusion of the first book, and Sadie is continuing to work with Quinn on the case. She’s being cautious, because the threat is beginning to become personal. Colton wants Sadie more than ever, but respects her distance for the moment. He is also on edge as the case that she is working on is becoming all too familiar…

I loved seeing the chemistry and passion continue to build between Colton and Sadie. They continue to explore their connection and learn to trust one another, with secrets and their bodies. The Shibari scene was sizzling and intense… you just HAVE to read it!

I love the depth that the secondary characters bring to the storyline too. Quinn is quite protective of Sadie, wanting to keep her out of harm’s way. Carson pushes Sadie and at times makes her uncomfortable. Colton’s brother Julian seems a little guarded, and his roommate Jonathon has no filter.

Trisha certainly knows how to keep me in suspense, I tell you! There are more murders, interesting twists, and the Unsub always keeps you guessing! The Unsub perspective is one that I look forward to reading, so I can see into his twisted mind! I’m still guessing as to whom it may be, and after reading book two, every character is a suspect in my mind!

From an early age, Trisha Wolfe dreamed up fantasy worlds and characters and was accused of talking to herself. Today, she lives in South Carolina with her family and writes full time, using her fantasy worlds as an excuse to continue talking to herself.

Tough Enough by M. Leighton ~ Release Day Review & Teaser Tuesday

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the second book in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.

He’s a fighter who never loses, but is he tough enough to win her heart?

There was a time when I had everything–a wonderful family, a bright future. Love. But all that was taken away in a single night, torn from me like flesh from bone. Since then, I’ve hidden away in my second-choice job as a makeup artist. But I prefer it that way, actually. I’m comfortable in the shadows, where no one can see my scars.

Kiefer Rogan literally took my breath away the moment I met him. MMA champion-turned-actor, notorious playboy, charming to a fault—he’s everything I vowed to avoid.

But he just wouldn’t stop until I opened up and let him in. Maybe I should’ve tried harder to resist him. Maybe I shouldn’t have fallen in love with him. Because I, of all people, know that everyone has secrets. Scars. And that they’re usually ugly and painful and destructive to the people we love most.

I just never guessed that they could be deadly, too.

I really enjoyed Strong Enough, the first book in this series and I was excited to continue the journey to learn more about Rogan and the girl who captures his heart, Katie. I was expecting this book to have suspense like the first book, but it turned out to be a different kind of read and the suspense didn’t happen until later in the book. Tough Enough was about two people, who had hard times, and how they were tough enough to survive and become stronger people together.

Katie worked as a makeup artist, after an incident stole her ideal job. She hides behind her hair and tries to stay unnoticed until Kiefer Rogan came into her life. He see’s past her shy personality to the heart of the girl, and is relentless in his pursuit of her. Rogan has some secrets of his own, and harbours guilt when it comes to his brother, but deep down has a great heart. He thinks of others first and is determined to win Katie over.

I really liked seeing Katie and Rogan together. Rogan really helped Katie come out of her shell, and she softened Rogan’s brother Kurt as well. Rogan showed how kind and selfless he was, and would do sweet things to win Katie over. He showed his protective and dominant side too when it came to Katie, which I loved! Their lives were closer entwined than they thought, and I kind of guessed that particular plot twist early on, but I was still shocked when it all fell into place.

Tough Enough was a fast paced read that I devoured quickly. I liked seeing all the characters from the series and seeing how closely knitted they all are. The plot thread from the first book passed into this story, but didn’t really become a factor until late in the book. I love all the characters that M. Leighton has created, and cannot wait to get more from this world! Bring on Tag’s book!

Mmmm... I love how Rogan says exactly what he's thinking!!

“Do your lips taste like cotton candy?”
“How would I know?” she asks a bit dazedly.
“Give me five minutes and I’ll tell you.”
I bring my other hand up to hold her face still as I brush my mouth over hers. When she doesn’t move away, doesn’t push me away, I sink into her lips like I might sink into a bed made of marshmallows. Sweet, plump, light-as-air marshmallows. And, God help me, Katie sinks right back.

A Shot of Sin by Eden Summers ~ Review & Quote-tastic

Union of Sin, the second book in the Vault of Sin series is now out! Before I jumped into it I had to read the first book to see where it all begins... I love a fast, sizzling read and Eden certainly delivered in A Shot of Sin!!
Title: A Shot of Sin

Series: Vault of Sin #1
Genre: Erotic Romance

Throw back a shot of pure pleasure.

Leo Petrova is between a rock and the hard place in his pants. Shot of Sin, the night club he owns with his two best friends, is short one bartender downstairs. The only available replacement is the upstairs bar manager—the one woman Leo knows he can’t take downstairs, can’t have, can’t touch. The one time he gave in to temptation convinced Leo that Shay’s no match for his sexual demands.

Only a select few know Shot of Sin’s guilty secret, that beneath the packed dance floor lies a very private sex club—the Vault. The place Leo can let his sexual proclivities run wild.

Shay Porter is curious as to why her boss, the king of mixed messages, seems almost desperate to keep her from discovering what’s on the other side of the guarded door at the back of the club.

Sliding out of her comfort zone and into Leo’s arms risks everything. Their friendship, the Vault, and most of all, their hearts.

Warning: This sex club does not carry the government’s stamp of approval. Contains devilish debauchery, delightful deviance, and dancing on the edge of the darkest of sexual desires.

Are you looking for something hot, sexy and a little bit naughty? Well you MUST try the Vault of Sin series!! The first book A Shot of Sin is Leo and Shay’s book, but it also sets up the series and introduces the other guys that we’ll see more of in the future.

Now, about A Shot of Sin... Shay has had feelings for one of her bosses, Leo, since they had a moment in the storeroom some time ago. I could see they both had a connection, but Leo was quite distant and a little angry, as he tried to keep the distance between them. But when T.J. approaches Leo and Shay about her filling in ‘downstairs’ Leo is quick to dismiss the idea, so Shay is adamant that she is going to do it.

I liked how Shay went into it with her mind open, and wasn’t willing to accept it all immediately. She wasn’t entirely comfortable, but took the time to work through her thoughts and feelings. She wasn’t sure if she could adapt to Leo’s world, but her feelings toward him are too strong to deny any longer.

Leo, he’s definitely mysterious! I could see that he had a diverse sexual appetite and hoped that Shay could fit into his world, but he didn’t want to push her. He took advice from his partners, letting her take the time to come around, despite how hard it was for him to stay away.

A Shot of Sin was a fast, sizzling read that I eagerly devoured! I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the world they live in. There were a few sexual encounters, one that had me fanning myself... so hot! My only complaint? It wasn’t long enough! I want to know more about Leo and Shay, as well as T.J. and Brute... Bring on Union of Sin!!

Complimentary copy provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review.

Here is a taste of the chemistry and raw lust between Shay and Leo.

“Think about what I’ll demand of you, and what you’re willing to give.”
His possession was a scorching balm against her wounded pride. The hardness of his cock pressed between her thighs. The stability of his hands holding her tight. “That’s all I’ve done for the past three hours.”
He narrowed his gaze, his jaw harsh. “I won’t stop this time.”
“Well, hurry up and get start—”
He slammed his mouth against hers, pushing his tongue past her lips, searching. He devoured her, kissed her harder than she’d ever been kissed, turning her bones to mush, her strength to weakness.

Kindle Arc Loc 967

“I’ll ruin you,” he growled into her mouth, thrusting his erection against her pubic bone. His gaze held her captive as her ass began to slam against the wooden door with each of his thrusts.
“You already have.”
