Every choice you make in life comes with a consequence, which dictates the outcome of your future.

I was once on top, I was living the life I dreamt of, I had everything I could possibly hope for. I was happy, satisfied, content…until one night.

One off day.

One moment in time I wish I could take back. My biggest regret.

The once bright future I possessed vanished and in its place a dark world of self-hatred and loathing encompassed me.

People like to celebrate the day they were born, I like to celebrate the day my soul died.

This is my story of repentance.

I’ve been keen to get my hands on Kace’s book, since the very first time I met him. He appeared to be a dark and broody guy and I wanted to know what happened in his past that shaped him to be that way. Repentance was as difficult as I thought it would be, visiting Kace’s past and seeing how much he despised himself, and felt he didn’t deserve happiness.

Each chapter alternated between the past and the present. I saw what Kace was up to now, and then I would get a story from the past that was important in regards to the man he is today. In the present, I could see him struggling with his feelings for Lyla, because he felt that he wasn’t supposed to find any type of happiness.

In the past, I watched Kace get everything he dreamed of, only to have it all shatter around him, and just when he thought he was at his lowest, his world was rocked again. I loved how Jett was there, every step of the way, trying to help Kace through it all, but it was difficult when Kace didn’t want to be saved. Kace functioned day-to-day, helped Jett with his club, but never let go of his demons.

Repentance was an emotional ride, and I thought that Meghan pieced it together perfectly. Kace had many lows and didn’t know how to get out of the hole that he found himself in. Lyla kept fighting for him, but in the end there is only so many times a girl can be rejected before she has enough. Kace has such a kind heart and I loved what he did to make amends, despite how difficult it was. I was happy with how it all tied up and I closed the book with a sigh knowing that all characters involved had great futures ahead of them.

This was an eye opener for Kace, but I loved how straight Lyla was with him.

“Why, Lyla? Why now?” From over her shoulder, she answered, “Because everyone deserves a second chance in life, Kace. It’s about damn time you take yours.”

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
