A bombshell bookworm. A chronic Casanova. And a lesson in chemistry too scandalous for school.

When Hanna Bergstrom receives a lecture from her overprotective brother about neglecting her social life and burying herself in grad school, she’s determined to tackle his implied assignment: get out, make friends, start dating. And who better to turn her into the sultry siren every man wants than her brother’s gorgeous best friend, Will Sumner, venture capitalist and unapologetic playboy?

Will takes risks for a living, but he’s skeptical about this challenge of Hanna’s…until the wild night his innocently seductive pupil tempts him into bed- and teaches him a thing or two about being with a woman he can’t forget. Now that Hanna’s discovered the power of her own sex appeal, it’s up to Will to prove he’s the only man she’ll ever need.

Ahhh… Will the player finally got his own book, and he happened to fall for the youngest sister of his oldest friend … how fitting! Will became friends with Jensen when they went to college when he was 19. Jensen invited him home and that is when a 12 year old Hanna first laid eyes on him. Since then she has watched him with all the girls and he often starred in her fantasies. Now Hanna is 24, and although she is smart, she is kind of withdrawn from the normal world and obsessed with her work. Jensen makes Hanna call Will, to get her build herself a social life.

This was a very amusing read, I tell you!! Hanna was very open in what she was thinking; she didn’t have a filter, mostly, and wasn’t afraid to ask all the sexual questions that she wanted to know about. She has had limited experience with men and expected Will to teach her all that he knows about dating and sex!

Will has always given Bennett and Max a hard time about their women, so it was funny to see karma kick him in the butt!! He has always kept things simple with women, and they know what to expect from him. Seeing the connection between Will and Hanna become something more made him realise that his simple life may not be as perfect as he thought. He spent a lot of time with Hanna, getting to know her as more than Jensen’s sister. They shared a lot of interests, and going jogging was one they (eventually) enjoyed together.

Christina Lauren showed me once again how incredible they are in the romance genre. Will and Hanna had their flaws and found it hard to voice their feelings to one another, even though the chemistry was there right from the beginning. They flirted, spent a lot of time together and the slight touches built the tension between them. I liked how Bennett and Max made a couple of appearances too, and unsettled both Will and Hanna, giving the guys ammunition to use against Will for a change!! Beautiful Player was another fantastic read and I am keen to get more from this world!

Sighing, I stood and walked over to where I’d left my shoes near the front door. “Okay, fine, I’ll come. But wear a shirt that shows off your tits so I have something to entertain me if I get bored.”

Yes, there are two of us! Lauren (on the left) and Christina (on the right).

Christina Lauren is the combined pen name of long-time writing partners/besties/soulmates/brain-twins Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings. The coauthor duo writes both Young Adult and Adult Fiction, and together has produced nine New York Times bestselling novels. Their books have been translated into 23+ languages.

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. These days you’ll probably find her on tumblr. She is married and absolutely not old enough to be the mom of a 14 year old (right??), thinks she’s the luckiest person in the world to write books with her best friend, and is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter. She also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.

  1. Great review and nice teaser! I'm going to be honest, I've been back and forth with starting this series. I'm just not sure if it's for me, but your review does make me curious about the characters.

  3. Will and Jensen was funny in a way that they couldn't quite make heads and tails of what they were to each other at first. I think they're my second favourite pairing amongst all the couples in this series! Glad you loved it, Naomi. :D

  4. The first few books were packed with sex, but these last ones have been more about the relationships. I have really enjoyed them.

  6. I did enjoy these two! They were so in denial! It was funny to see their reactions. Funny how Will figured it out first!
