He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.
Strength…
It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it. But she did. Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater. Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.
That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse. In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe. All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese. That sounds easy enough, right?
Weakness…
Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy. Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one. It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan. It’s simple: Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life. That sounds easy enough, right?
But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her. To save her. Even if he has to save her from himself.
I'm a huge fan of Michelle Leighton’s books ever since I started reading her work last year. She writes anything from paranormal to contemporary romance and everything I've read has been entertaining. So, I was truly excited to read this book featuring Reese, after meeting him in All the Pretty Lies. Reese and Hemi are two totally different guys so All the Pretty Poses went in a slightly different direction than the first book. Where Hemi was all quirky and determined, Reese is confident and businesslike. They both run in different circles but they are close brothers and are passionate when it comes to women *wink*
This story was like Pretty Woman meets Flash Dance and it’s a fun, quirky read. Reese is a successful businessmen and he owns various clubs across the country that feature women doing all types of things from serving to exotic dancing. It’s at one of his clubs, where he takes Hemi, Sloane and Sig, where he runs into an old flame who just happens to be dancing.
It was thrilling to see Reese and Kennedy meet again, because I could see that they still have a connection even after 14 years. And when Reese approached Kennedy with a business proposition, in the end she knew that she can't say no. Kennedy is determined not to fall back into her old ways, because he shattered her heart when he left all those years ago and doesn't want to let it happen again. But it doesn't help that she has female parts that always betray her! Watching her squirm under Reese’s efforts always made me giggle, and I knew in the end she wouldn't hold out. Reese is definitely one of those Alpha male types that is used to getting what he wants and plans to have Kennedy back in his bed. It is fun to watch the way he seduces her, with sexy words, slight touches and the way he treats her. When I finally got to those sex scenes… they were certainly scorching! What that man can do with his fingers and tongue is just mind-boggling!!
But like all of Michelle's books, she has little twists that I don't see coming, so when the secrets revealed they certainly throw a spanner in the works. My jaw dropped to before a couple of times and I even shed a few tears. The reappearance of my favourite characters from the first book was enjoyable and I definitely have a soft spot for Sig!! His book is going to be fabulous! He flirts a lot with Kennedy and I just swooned and laughed! If you haven't tried any of Michelle's books yet you should start with this series.
I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.
