Jamison Matthews has lusted after Ryder Montgomery since she was a preteen. But now that Ryder and her brother's band, Shaken Dirty, has made it huge, she's just one of many pining for the brooding lead singer. Too bad Ryder still sees her as a little sister. Not that it matters. Her brother would never allow it, and the last thing Jamison wants is to be another notch on a rock star's bed post. Even if it's Ryder's.
Ryder doesn't deserve happiness. After his fame destroyed his last girlfriend, he swore he'd never fall in love again. So when Jamison, the girl he's been in danger of loving for years, joins the band on the road, he'll do anything to deny the sparks between them--even after one hot night together. But Jamison is determined to show Ryder that he's worthy of love--her love--and that she's all grown up and ready to play.
This is the second book of Tracy Wolff’s that I have read and I have thoroughly enjoyed both. Both series are written differently, Crash Into Me is from 3rd person perspective, whereas Ruined (Ethan Frost) was from the 1st person. However it is evident that Tracie knows how to write romance novels as she blew me away with this rocker story and I'm excited to read more from this world.
Jamison has had a rough trot losing her car, boyfriend and her job and just wants to relax by watching her brother and his world famous band, Shaken Dirty, perform. She has always had an attraction to the lead singer, Ryder, since they were children. He has never seen her as more than his best friends sister, so she has done her best to move on with her life. Seeing all the troubles that she has been though is a little sad, and she is not confident with her looks or her body, so she believes that there is no way she has a chance with Ryder. I was secretly rooting for her and soon she could see things a little differently.
Ryder has had women around him since he lost a girlfriend many years ago, to something he couldn't prevent. He tries to keep people at a distance and we discover his little secrets along the way. He really is a sweet guy and has a soft spot for Jamison, which he doesn't understand. She pushes his buttons like none has in a long time. Watching him unravel his feelings and seeing them interact was excruciating at times, because the sexual tension was pretty intense!
As it is a rocker story, I was taken into the world of rock n roll and we dive into the world of touring, babes and drugs. There is a side story in this book that becomes quite dire and I was shocked as to what happened. So much happened in such a small amount of time that I was left speechless. Tracy Wolff has done a spectacular job opening up this series with this book. There is plenty of lust, sizzling scenes and day to day action that will keen you engrossed in the story and wanting the next one immediately, to see id others in the band can find their HEA!!
I received a copy of this book from the Publisher, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Interesting how she changes up perspectives and this sounds hot. I always get this series confused with Leighton's series. LOL
ReplyDeleteoh yeah. This one's been on my watch list. I need to give her a try soon :)
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love rock-stars and love stories wrapped up in an enticing package! This one is definitely making its way to Mt. TBR and I can't wait to read it. Little sisters really have it hard - it seems those kind of stories really reach out to me as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great review, Naomi! Happy Valentine's Day.
