Austin by Lauren Runow and Jeannine Colette ~ Review & Swoon Thursday (@LaurenRunow @jeannineColett @wordsmithpublic)

I'm loving this new series by a new writing duo Lauren Runow and Jeannine Colette. I was introduced to two of the Sexton brother's and I know I'm going to enjoy each of their stories!

Jalynn
I’m the girl who’s always picking up the pieces of other people’s mistakes.
Until tonight.
I accidentally cause one false start, and now I’m being pulled into a guy’s car—who everyone only knows as Falcon—before an illegal street race.
He may not want anyone to truly know who he is, but he’s met his match.
Game on, Falcon.

Austin
People know I run these races.
They know not to mess with me, or my car.
When the identity of the girl who causes a false start is revealed, I have to make an example of her.
Letting her see who I am was never the plan.
Neither was running into her the next day as my brother’s new assistant.
She said she wanted nothing to do with me, but when I yank her into a janitor’s closet, making sure she keeps my secret is the last thing on my mind.
She may want more than my secrets, but my racing may be the last thing I try to hide.

I love watching movie's that feature car racing, so once I realised that Austin had a touch of it entwined throughout the story, I knew I had to read it. I love the danger of illegal racing, and it was sweet to see Austin and Jalynn fall for one another on and off the track.

I liked that Jalynn had a sharp tongue, and that was one of the things that caught Austin's attention. They tried hard to dislike one another but you could feel the chemistry between them. It was bitter sweet to see Jalynn start work as Austin's brother's secretary, because he struggled to control himself around her.

Jalynn and Austin had both suffered loss and having that in common drew them closer together. Jalynn had wonderful support in her friend Eva, and even though Austin and Bryce weren't as close as they used to be, and they had family issues, Bryce would stand up for him no matter what. I liked that bond that they have and I hope it develops more in further books.

This is the first book by this duo writing together. I have read both of their work separately and I think they have done a great job at delivering this story. Austin's story line seemed to cross with Bryce's so it will be interesting to read Bryce's story. Austin really was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to returning to this world.

*** Swoon Thursday was first bought to us by YA Bound. Since they are no longer with us, and with permission from Trisha Wolfe, I have decided that those of us that love to swoon need a central meet up point.  So here it is ladies! I have a link up for everyone at the bottom of the post you can add your swoons to, and I’ll set it up every week! So tell all other swooners out there to come on over, link up so we can visit each other! ***

I love this moment, it was sweet and amusing!

“Are you going to kiss me, Austin Sexton?” I ask.
“No.” He leans in even closer.
“No?” My eyes fall to his mouth, and I’m done for.
“Never.”
His lips lightly touch mine, checking for reassurance.
When a slight moan escapes my body and my shoulders drop, he moves in more. Pressing firmly against me and sweeping his tongue out for a taste. His kiss is soft and tender, making my entire body light on fire with a craving for more. I kiss him back, wanting every drop of what he’s offering, but he pulls away.
My heart is racing like wildfire, and my mind goes blank as I tame the ache swirling within me.
His forehead leans against mine as he takes a deep breath in. “Yep. That’s what I thought,” he whispers.
My mind finally decides to make a presence. “That’s what you thought?”
His mouth tips up with a smirk. “You want me.”
