This was just fantastic!! When I started reading it, I thought it was going to be about the bad boy and lead singer of a band falling in love with the girl he rescued… but it was waaaay more than that! Twist after twist was thrown in and my jaw kept hitting the floor! It was definitely not like anything I had read before!

Ella… she has been through so much. I saw how difficult her life currently was, and each new detail that I learned about her past made my heart break for her even more. She tries to be confident but she has lost so much and all she wants is to find someone to love her. When she asks Rellik for help, I don’t think she expected him to agree so quickly, but I could see her relief that someone was there for her.

Rellik/Ryder was really the bad boy he portrayed himself to be. His past was heartbreaking too, but it was his secrets that really shocked me! I loved how he acted with Ella though; he let down his walls and slowly let her in. The more time they spent together, the harder it was for him to let her go.

Teresa Mummert wove this story together perfectly. The story line was intense, the chemistry between the characters was sizzling and each twist changed the direction of the story. Ella and Ryder’s relationship grew throughout the course of the story and with each new development, it seemed to strengthen it. If you like a powerful read, with sizzling scenes and to get blood on your hands, you must pick this book up… I wish I had done so sooner, I tell you!!

  3. Ooo jaw droppers. Those are so dang rare. One of the very few to do that to me is Rebecca Zanetti and I'm caught up on hers. I'll have to give this a look-see :D

  4. I haven't read anything by Mummert yet but I'm pretty sure I own this one. ;) I love it when I'm reading a story and am so sure that the author is taking me down this road and then takes a sharp left-turn. And then a few (or many) sharp turns after that. This story seems like it went that way so I'm more excited to read it. And that Rellik/Ryder and Ella have sizzling chemistry...hubba-hubba! Thanks for a great review, Naomi. I'll try to get this one on my schedule sooner than later. :)

  5. I've read this author before and really enjoyed her writing. I've been on the fence about this book though. I really want to read it, but I am so out of my rockstar romance phase... sigh. I don't know. I love that this one has twists, I've been eyeing it for quite some time.

  13. Yeah, I think it is more dark romance than focused on the rockstar side, there are twists that I didn't see coming and I loved that side of the book.
