I picked up The Millionaire Affair because I wanted something light, fun and spicy to read… and let’s face it, a hawt Millionaire is worth reading about. So I was introduced to Landon Downey, the wealthy bachelor who needs help with his nephew and his sister’s friend Kimber is the one that sweeps in and turns his life upside down!
Kimber has been attracted to Landon since high school, but when she steps into his apartment, you can see that it is now mutual. They both try and maintain their distance, due to the situation they are in, but you can see the tension ramping up! I enjoyed seeing each of them sort through their feelings and decide that they want to step over that line.
Once these two finally came to an understanding, things were sizzling! There is no denying the passion they have for one another! There is a little mishap and they pull away from one another to sort things out. In Kimbers case, outside advice makes her hesitant (and I wanted to tell them to back off, I assure you) and Landon over thinks things, so things change between them. I just wanted to shake both of these stubborn characters and tell them to lay it all out!!
I really enjoyed this story and was saddened to see Landon’s past affect him like it did. He deserves someone special in his life to make him whole. He really is a sweet guy and the quirky Kimber is definitely the one for him! I think that Jessica wove this story beautifully, and even though it is the first book of hers I have read I had no problem reading it as a standalone. I think I would love to go back and start at the beginning and seeing how Shane and Crickitt as well as Aiden and Sadie, found their Happily Ever After’s. If you enjoy a light-hearted, sizzling romance, this series is definitely for you!
