Tyler knows he’s not good enough for Rory. She’s smart, doctor smart, while he’s barely scraping by at his EMT program, hoping to pull his younger brothers out of the hell their druggy mother has left them in. Torn between common sense and desire, the two find themselves caught up in a passionate relationship. But when Tyler’s broken family threatens to destroy his future, and hers, Rory will need to decide whether to cut her ties to his risky world or follow her heart, no matter what the cost…

My Review

I decided to pick this book to read as I was having a bit of a crummy week, so I wanted to read something that would make me feel good and I am so glad I picked up True. There are so many bad boy/good girl books out there, but it seems I can't get enough! Although there is not always happiness, it was still a fun read that had me intrigued from the start.

The whole book was from Rory's POV. She is a unique individual and I really liked her. She is a real nerd who takes things literally and I found it quite amusing. She has that dry sense of humour, where she thinks she's funny but most people around her have to think about it before they get it. She is super smart and will have any job that she puts her mind to, but the everyday stuff that most of us know about, she doesn't get.

Tyler.....*sigh* ... Tyler.... What can I say.... He definitely fits into that bad boy persona that I love; hot, strong build, hot, tattoos (with meaning) and a beautiful personality hidden behind that hot cover.... Oh and an interesting piercing.... He is quite smart but hides his personal life behind that bad boy facade. I fell for him as soon as I met him as he is one of those guys that will stand up for a woman when needed. Argh, where do I get one!

This story was fun as we follow the lives of two people on the opposite sides of the scales. Average/nerd/virgin and the hot/smart/playa equals heart ache for sure. Rory is pretty much and open book but Tyler has his secrets. But he is a beautiful person. Everything that he does is for his family and for someone to have a heart like that is amazing. Both characters have had their share of heartache growing up, so it is easy for them to form a bond. I found the whole story entertaining and I was left wanting more. The author had me captivated and the back stories that she told were beautifully written. I will definitely be picking up more of Erin’s work in the future!!

I received a copy of this book from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.
