Swoon Thursday #21 – The Mercenary By Johanna Rae

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme. Here's how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog! I want to know & so do the chicks at YABound!

This week I have a book that I fell in love with from the very first chapter. It has everything I love, shifters, passion and plenty of action. This swoon has a little humour and plenty ofswoon. Enjoy!!

The Mercenary
By Johanna Rae

“So what you are saying is that if you and I have a nice long talk, I’ve got a second chance?” Danny questioned her carefully. Jodie tried to look away, not wanting to lose her resolve, and found that she was already lost in him.
“Assuming that you’re interested,” she said as she suddenly realized that her hand was still pressed against his cotton t-shirt, soaking up his warmth.
“Trust me babe, he’s interested,” Eddie chuckled. He stood nearby with both hands on his hips, muscles straining beneath his shirt.
Danny actually colored at Eddie’s statement. Jodie smiled, and it rapidly evolved into a grin. Danny raised an eyebrow, and drawing her even closer, he sought her mouth again. His warm soft lips met with hers, and he kissed her with a loving tenderness that surprised Jodie. This time she surrendered total control and practically melted into his arms. Maybe it was because the element of surprise was gone. Now he was the one in charge, and Jodie liked that. She desperately wanted more, but she couldn’t. She needed to get herself together in a big way, they had things to discuss. When he finally pulled away, Jodie’s lips tingled and a wave of heat shuddered through her.
“That was completely for your benefit,” he said seriously. Eddie burst out laughing and Danny pretended not to notice.

  1. Oh My!! That swoon is definitely worthy of its title. I like it... A LOT!!

However, the cover worries me. A knife and strange looking hands?? Not sure what's going on there.
