My Review
Blood and Moonlight is an interesting start to the series. It has an easy story line but it is a small part of the bigger picture as there are plenty of loose ends at the end. There was deceit and treachery throughout the plot, but relationships were able to blossom too. I am anticipating a lot more action to come in the next book of the trilogy. Things will definitely spice up as the prophecy unfolds.
I liked the build to this story. The author enabled me to learn a lot from the characters whilst delving into the story. Kiara has had a very difficult life, being of mixed blood she wasn't accepted into Fae, even though her Fae blood is royal. She was rejected by most of the Fae because of the wolf blood that also coursed through her veins and ended up being exiled. She was often challenged and bore scars on her body and soul from those encounters. She doesn’t know anything about her wolf heritage as she believed that her father died when she was born, but all is about to change when the ‘Celtic God’ looking man, known as Devlin, from the local wolf pack walks into her work to acquire her help in locating her father.......
There is a legend in regards to how the Shifters were created and the story of how it all unfolded becomes part of what is happening now. All the disappearances and deaths are leading to Kiara and she doesn’t understand everything as she has been kept in the dark her whole life and all those who have the answers are either missing or dead. So now she has to figure it out with the help of her best friends and guards Reece and Keenan. Devlin also wants to help Kiara, because when her wolf rises to the surface, he is able to calm her beast better than anyone before. So not only do we watch Kiara try and keep her Fae and Wolf powers under control but try to unravel a deadly kidnap situation that puts her very own life on the line. There is an attraction between Kiara and Devlin and they both do their best to fight it but it becomes very hard to do so.
I enjoyed the storyline of Blood and Moonlight as it is quite intense as members of the pack are disappearing including the Cadeyrn (leader of the pack). The characters are very likeable. Kiara is very strong willed and independent, Devlin is second in command of the Wolf Pack and is very honourable (and totally Hawt). Reece and Keenan are an awesome couple and dedicated to Kiara. Marcus and Cian are loyal to the pack and will do all in their power to achieve their duties.
