Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
Here’s this week’s question:
What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?
I’m an action kid of girl, so if the story doesn’t capture me within the first chapter or two, depending on the size of the chapters, I find it hard to continue reading. My sister leant me a fantasy book and it took almost 80 pages to get to some fun stuff. I need something to keep me stimulated, not just a slow build to the book.
What do you think?
What's your FF?

I agree, if a book hasn't gotten my interest by the third chapter then I am out.
ReplyDeleteNew follower from Random Thoughts and Weirdness, *you already followed me*
Nice post!!
Yeah, a few people have said this. If it takes too long to get into the story, one loses interest. I have say that that has happened to me, but even so, I always continue with the hope that the story will pick up.

I'm the same. But big, epic fantasy novels are some of my favourites. They just take me a while....
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF and following! I returned the favour :)
Slower books aren't a deal breaker for me. I'm patient and I won't stop reading a book most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and following. Following you via GFC.

That's a good one. You have to get invested right away! Great answer. Old follower via GFC. My FFs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy Friday! :D
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the genre for me, but I do prefer faster paced action stories a lot of the time. New GFC follower.

ReplyDeleteI'm so not a patient person!! Need some type of action!! Thanx for visiting!
ReplyDeleteMe too, I can't help it, need stimulation!! Haha!!
ReplyDeleteThat's right, action, kisses, fights, something!!
ReplyDeleteI just don't like having to read too much to find some fun!! Thank you for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI'm fine with the book starting a bit slow, but then it depends on the genre and the mood I'm in. Nothing worse than reading a slow book when you're distracted already!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and following my blog! I’ve returned the favor :)
